    I wouldn’t expect him to be on par with a high level powerlifter since he’s more concerned with movie muscle. Still works and diets hard and gets the girls excited

    Glad to have you back! Speaking as an unashamed comics nerd, Captain America has some pretty damn crazy feats in the comics but having the strength of 100 men is a stretch! I’ve seen him referred to as having the strength of a platoon - he’s stated to be able to overhead press 800lbs and is even shown benchpressing 1100lbs for reps in one scene

    Pleased to see you comment. That's pretty cool! Wish the movies had shown more indications of his strength

    @@StrengthUniverse He had a few stupendous feats which go beyond what he should be able to do in the comics - they showed him pressing a motorcycle with three girls on it over his head, I believe, and he also literally ripped a chunk of log in half whilst enraged, as well as tearing off a taxi door and crushing a walkie talkie in his hand. His best feat was preventing a helicoptor from taking off by grabbing hold of the landing skid with one arm.

    I've always looked myself for articles in the past in the 2010s to see where I can find his stats on weight and workout routine and how much he can bench and I've always come up short and thanks for this video, it helps

    I'll just say this, 300 pound squat, which I actually can do now, and a 500 pound deadlift? I know NO ONE that has that much disparity between their squat and deadlift numbers, I'm not saying those people don't exist, I just have never seen one, my deadlift is 375 and I can squat 300, I'm not saying they're impressive numbers, I'm just saying they are closer together with less of a disparity, regardless excellent vid as always.

    They do exist but are very rare. Cailer Woolam, one of the best powerlifters ever, pulled around 950 in his prime and had a squat just under 700 lbs. I’m not a top powerlifter like Cailer but my deadlift at one point was around 160 lbs more than my squat, but now it’s closer to 100 lbs. The bench and squat being that close together is odd for me.

    Yeah I could see having a deadlift 100/150 lbs heavier but 200 lbs difference is kinda crazy

    Maybe he didn't really like to squat much. I personally didn't squat or deadlift at all, till like 1-2 years ago and I was really bad at them. I could bench press more than squat or deadlift at that time, but now the numbers went up and surpassed my bench by a lot. It's rather, if he really trains it or not and not if he can imo. It could be realistic, but also kind of rounded numbers so who knows in the end. They are definitely achievable with the correct training and plan. The deadlift might be too high though considering the time they had, but maybe he always liked deadlifting even before that period so in the end, we still don't know, and again, it's still very achievable.

    The thing that casts the most doubt (imo) is that the writer claimed numerous sources mention......Yet he provided no references. I have been researching on and off for this video for almost 2 years and I could find no publications mentioning his strength.

    The difference between the squat and deadlift is concerning but I guess could be possible if you are focusing on upper body mass as he probably would for a movie. Not too bad at that bodyweight.

    A squat of I think you said 136kg versus a deadlift of I think you said 229kg sounds like bull to me.

  • @Dmoriarty1993

    I've noticed the same thing. There's no real data out there. Probably on order to maintain mystique. It seems wild that he can deadlift nearly 100kg more than he squats. I'm not very strong at squat, but the disparity is no where near that big.

  • @thewelfaregourmet
    @thewelfaregourmet27 күн бұрын

    Those are reasonable numbers for a trained male of decent size. I agree the ratios of the squat / bench / dead are suspect. A 400lb dead would be more realistic if the other lifts are what they are. Final opinion... He is bog standard strong at a commercial gym.

    if he doesn't squat a 285 lbs. bench press and a 300 lbs. squat is possible but the gap between his squat and deadlift is just too big to be believable since the squat works the lower back as well

    It tells me he's surely natural and his numbers are where I predicted. *The Hollywood myth is always so-and-so gained 20 or 25 lbs of muscle and typically in a very short length of time.* His numbers being approximate 300, 300 and 500 lbs though are completely within reach of his physique naturally. I ran a bench program about 3 1/2 years ago, and in 3 weeks I was able to put up 205 lbs which was good enough for me. About 6 months later, I pulled 415 on farmer's bars and should have loaded to 450 because it would have gone up, and I did this with a blood infection! lol I also did dips hitting 150 lb from the waist at 190-200lbs bodyweight, and behind the back shrugs on a Swiss-bar of 405. For a natural, those last 2 sets of numbers are ridiculous but also 100% legitimate.

    @@sbdftw1702 the Rock will never quit PED's even though he put out a story a few years ago that he quit and had horrible side effects including severe depression and thoughts of suicide. It's obvious he backed off on dosage sizes and switched which PED's he uses and went to medical scale protocols, but he will always be on them. His image and career is dependent on them.
