At first I hated Harry Potter because the inside of the book didn't look nice for me with small letters here and there. But then one day I forced myself to read this book and that changed my life. I am a very big Harry Potter fan. And I feel stupid for not acknowledging this book earlier.

I fell in love with the content!

This video motivated me to go for a book, and learn more about storytelling :)

Blame the KZread algorithm and then the fact that this generation loves too much of tik tok challenges, netflix and chill etc. Lol. Anyway, I'm also part of this generation but I prefer some balance. I personally take out time to find videos like this because they are very informative and entertaining at the same time.

Stories learn a great lesson of life

The underlying story here is that stories are good; but of course they also are used for nefarious purposes - something that should at least have been mentioned in this short clip. After all, what is a "story"?: it's a selection of available facts that plausibly fit together according some "logic" or set of linkages i.e. not the whole "truth," just a partial one. The better claim, as the blurb says, is that stories are powerful: they can reduce prejudice, but conversely, it ought to be acknowledged that they can also incite it (assuming "prejudice" is used perjoratively).

Of course. If it didn't work then for example publishers who print the works of authors that interest the likes of SkinHeads, KKK, Neo-Nazi's etc... would all go out of business. As you point out, the process of reading can work on the brain in both directions.

A book instills its life unto the reader

Movie with great ideas.

What is the difference between fiction or non-fiction? As far as the mind is concerned.

For some reason, stories are too overwhelming for me, yet my mind gets entertained from it. After 2 hours of watching a movie both good or bad, my mental state is affected. And I did some searching to find out that, stories basically trigger uncertainity in our brains, which is kind of a emotional rush. Whats interesting is almost all cravings have same effect, sugar to porn to stories. Entertainment / distraction seems to be a law in human brain / minds.

Of course, stories can also increase prejudice, so one has to be careful with what one reads.

Hmm. Interesting that it focused so much on reading, rather than going to live storytelling performance sessions. I'm sure that the advantages cited for taking in stories by reading would also apply to stories taken in by listening.

So, what do Bible stories do to people? What about the story of ourselves, the ego. What if we stop identifying with story characters, will we cease to exist, psychologically speaking? If so, what does that teach about "self"? (These are rhetorical questions, to direct attention.)✌️

An opinion about homosexual marriage or immigration should be based upon a set of conclusions developed by a person through the process of weighing up the pre-existing knowledge we have about the subject and the various arguments circulating within this sphere (moral, cultural, spiritual etc). I find it very strange that whilst we find ourselves as human beings experiencing things within this wonderful vessel of ours some people would spend time and effort to encode a story with information in the attempt to bypass the faculty of reason within the human being by seeding such prejudices in the subconscious before our faculty of reason naturally unfolds. Is this not social engineering?

It is. Part of it is because with ever increasing technology, we are flooded with so much information that an average person now has a very short attention span. So reading a headline here or a tweet there is what most people use to gather information. In the long term, this is seriously detrimental to society because rational conclusions can only be reached by an in-depth knowledge of the matter at hand.

So in other words if you're not part of the dominant group and they have to power to make law to make your life a nightmare write your own stories. Whether it be fantasy, sci fi, none fiction write your own stories don't consume theirs.

That means, the owner of the the TV movies, which can virtualize the story, can change the mind of the world.! That is a dangerous weapon on the hand of minority people, which allow them to spread bad things or good things around the world. Which is not a democratic practice.
