It creates a false impression of the effect of the glitch, that it is truly a gameplay breaking glitch that negates nearly all of the damage in addition to some of the visual effects. Unless that was intentional, to subtly help sell the "absolutely breaking" notion...

@@BainesMkII It can be breaking it, because some, like Samus's or Terry's, you can't see the activation hitbox, so it you're not experienced, or don't know about the glitch, you can get whacked by a Final Smash you never saw coming.

@@BainesMkII I think it’s to prevent Sephiroth from dying from one of the final smashes. Seeing as how his side B was needed to activate the glitch in the first place, and we can see the effects of it in the middle right corner on the hill. Maybe him dying will make his Side B’s effect disappear with him.

I like the fact that there still comes a rainbow trail after Kirby's sword when he does he's final swing. That means the rainbow is not an effect but rather a model. Interesting.

I just find this amazing because it shows alot of this game is particle effects, but also a lot more of this game, especially FS, is not just a video clip, all of these Final Smashes that take you to other locations are modelled and rendered in game and thats amazing thay they took the time to animate all these models in the game's engine instead of taking an easy way out to make pre recorded clips. Fascinating to look at and see first hand.

Wii Fit Trainer basically T-Posed and asserted her dominance.

Without the effects, some characters look like they’re just screaming at their opponents.

@@ryanhernandez1877, have you noticed how only the models and stages load, meanwhile the effects in the background/attacks don’t? For example Roy doesn’t have any of the fire on his sword or the stage after the attack has been landed, the background doesn’t change, and the FE bar showing the critical hit doesn’t show, and the sword doesn’t do its effect before the attack of it looking like an echo... these are all effects/graphics that are used for Roy’s Final Smash however they are not present due to the glitch... does this help you? Edit: in case you’re still wondering why things like Mario’s fire completely gone, it’s not a physical model the game loads, just like the fire on Roy’s sword, fire itself is an effect so that’s why Mario’s fireball or Charizard’s flame tail don’t show, this includes Sephiroth’s Shadow Flare, it’s not a physical model and is just an effect of purple fire, and as the original commenter stated, the game is so focused on trying to load the purple fire effect on Sephiroth’s Shadow Flare it’s cancelling any other effect that tries to load in

It looks more brutal.

I noticed that during Clouds Final Smash 8:52 that his Omnislash still pops up at the top, but also you can actually see some of the effects on the right!

This really shows how some final smashes heavily rely on special effects for impact. On the other hand, this also shows that some final smashes still hit hard even without effects.

Holy moly Yoshi’s 1:25 looks WAY more brutal without all the cartoony dust clouds. Gave me Lion King flashbacks, jeez

4:02 honestly, Mewtwos looks kinda sick. Like he’s using some kind of super powerful psychic ability on your mind.

Am I the only one to think Ike's FS looks even more brutal with him just swinging that sword right through them like it was nothing?
