if you bring in the anvil, a lot of these are actually possible. Shield break in one hit, belly armor in one hit, etc Edit: Some speed tests would have been possible with powered rails, too.

I'm assuming the shield break you're talking about is the one where the anvil hits and breaks a block before falling again? In that case, technically it would be two hits, as the anvil makes two connections with the shield.

This whole thing made me question something: What about gold for Minecarts? They make you go faster

I don’t know this counts but he can also break a shield in one shot by putting down a block on the opponent and then using down air. The anvil will have a landing hit box twice, making enough damage to “one shot” a shield.

Dude you didn't use any powered rails. That makes a big difference. Edit: You also didn't use blocks to survive home run bat and you 100% can make it around smashville, not being mean but dude you gotta try harder rather than rush to get the vid out.

This video literally ignores anything but the basic ideas of steve tech: It doesn't account for his projectile command grab, his elytra cancelling, his minecart speed... Just about anything that requires thinking outside the box was ignored for this challenge. I really expected more from this channel. Edit: I meant powered rails when i said minecart speed.

@@Rbtdkawaii If you find yourself gliding offstage, you can retrieve some mobility by pressing shield midair, dropping the elytra immediately. Won't give you your jump back or anything, but definitely gives you a bit more control.

It’s also broken because there’s like 3 separate hitboxes and if you shield the first (falling) one and Steve uses it you have to shield ALL THE SEPARATE HITBOXES which STILL might not work. Minecart also feels broken

Seeing him use the rails, but not the powered ones vs Speed Shulk got me. The entire point of powered rails are that they go incredibly faster than the normal ones.

Best part is, Steve can actually do more challenges showed in the video. Smashville, break shield (Anvil block set up), possibly K Rool same way and Banjo side b by empty Minecart or block. Even outrange Min Min with Minecart

This comment is underrated. Yeah you’re right if you really think about it Steve is very godlike in Minecraft. And I guess it’only makes sense that he’s also powerful in smash ( Definitely not broken tho 😆)

For the guys saying he can one-shot shield and armor with that anvil tech: He didn't say one-ATTACK shields or armor, he said one-SHOT/HIT shields. If we said one attack piranha plant can one-attack with poison, jigglypuff can do the rollout thing where if the opponent is on the edge and she uses Rollout, it'll hit twice and break shield, but she'll be flung away, miis could potentially use blurring blade, that attack rush for mii fighters neutral b, so on. One HIT means no techs that involve abusing a hitbox to make a move hit twice. He did mess up on a lot of challenges AND was a bit redundant, for example he could've just built out of the deepest pit and didn't need to waste 90% of his resources for self damage, lack of powered rails and apparently golden minecart, which I just found out mind you(i dunno if it's based on weapon material or its existence in your resources though), he was also kinda sloppy with the block building and he definitely could've lived the homerun bat using blocks. Though I think that one is restricted to like moves, even with the minecart he was in it, so it's not like he can use those kinda things. And maybe he could've trapped banjo or squirtle in their respective moves using minecart, idk. But like chill with the anvil. It's not a one-attack challenge, it's one hit. Besides don't knock the guy, Steve's so fucking complex under the simple exterior we're probably scratching the surface of his capabilities

The things he can beat he basically destroys them

He can break shields with one move if you place a block and then anvil on top of it. I think that counts GimR shows it in a recent video. I think this will also break K-Rool's belly (to anyone that might say that it doesn't count because of it being multi hits: I'm pretty sure they used Link's side smash with both hits for his test) -idk if TNT Redstone line would count for beating Min Min's reach, but I also haven't even tested if it can go that far anyway. And potentially the minecart can reach with powered rails -powered rails can potentially keep up with Shulk too, as well as helping with going around Smashville, and I'm pretty sure you can place blocks under the stage as long as you're still high enough. If that's not legal for the challenge it shouldn't be for the high jump challenges either. -Is it even possible to stop Banjo's side-B with attacks anyway? (Counters don't stop it, they just prevent the user from being knocked back) Grabs can stop it, so that's literally anyone in the roster, but blocks should work if grabs aren't allowed.

7:42 steve can actually break full shields with his down air if you have it close enough as to where the anvil spawns to do one hit to the shield, then the impact of it hitting the ground, finishing off the shield. this is especially scary for Jigglypuff, that instantly dies if their shield breaks

These series of tests shows that Steve isn't the strongest character in smash, but you can obviously see he is one of the most versatile ones. Kinda resembles Minecraft.

@@duekaslana246 no you can't tho. 1. you can start in the air, however that only lasts for about 3 rails before you start to drop 2. powered rails are only placed at the start of your track, so even if you could place more, you would end up slowing down quickly

Steve can do challenge #27, break a shield in one hit. Not exactly one hit but it takes one setup, GimR recently showcased that anvil tech to destroy shields. Edit: Steve can also defeat Banjo's Wonderwing by just placing a dirt block in front of him.

Allow me to correct a few misconceptions in this video: -Steve actually CAN break shields (and potentially K. @@skillsharekirby2048 Assuming the dash wouldn't break the block. Granted I haven't tested, but there're some situations which forces blocks to be instant-broken (like ledge getup attacks)

It's been two weeks and my brain still can't comprehend the knowledge that Steve is in smash.

I’m not sure how much of a difference it would’ve made, but being able to use powered rails 3 times should’ve certainly made Steve faster

@@adadjoke6252 you can do a instant anvil by short hopping then doing anvil so it probably wouldn’t affect the results much

Steve is the first of his kind He’s a trap character meaning that he can alter the playing field using his blocks Though he cannot break the floors he can break blocks he has placed. Steve is purely recovery and dealing massive hit points as well as ledge gaurding

Me: I'm curious as to how Steve will beat these recovery challenges Steve: *summons block* Me: Oh right....

Steve can use a super charged Minecart with gold and redstone so redo some of the challenges he lost like the big blue one, do more research into the characters before doing challenges

Idk if you aren't allowing grabs for the banjo one but I'm assuming you're not but if you aren't than that means that challenge is impossible so I'll assume you are allowing command grabs. If you jump out of Steve's minecart than the cart becomes a grab that can get banjo

This one is probably wrong but I'm pretty sure a super charged Minecart has super armour in the beginning of it so Steve could probably take a home run bat without dying
