the outbreak of war was not February 2022. It was 2014, when Crimea and Donbass separated from Ukraine following the anti constitutional coup in Kiev.
But the thing is that going to war is such a big decision and it seems extremely undemocratic to send hunderds of thousnds of people to die without making sure that is the path down which they want to go. Im from Croatia, in 1992 we were in the middle of war but our president still held the elections despite getting no financial aid from the outside.

02:30 - haha, of course you have nothing to complain. You don't bother to defend your country, either by being on the frontlines, nor building defenses. Why ARE there no defensive lines? What happend to the money that was "used" for them? I often hear: The army doesn't have enough manpower to build them. So why aren't woman building them? Why shouldn't woman do something for their country too? We saw this e.g. in Britain and Germany in WW1+2 - men where doing the dying on the frontlines - but woman did their part. They were tolling the fields, working in factories. So why isn't Ukraine using some woman to build those fortifications? What about equality woman always demand? But hey, I guess that does not count if the equality is blood, sweat and hard labor. It's totally fine if this is done only by men.

It doesn't say that anywhere in any nations democracy. However, that is what martial law is. Martial law is declared in times of severe emergency or full-scale war. The United Kingdom, France, and many other occupied democracies of Europe also did not hold elections until World War 2 ended. They had what was called War Cabinets. You can look this up yourself. There was no 1940 UK election. They waited an entire 10 years before their next election 1935-1945.

You said that we need money and weapons for defense in 2024, otherwise the Russians will defeat us. It's been 3 years, but you want to recruit people under the age of 28. If you don't have soldiers, you can't win a war with money and weapons. War is won by volunteer soldiers who fight honorably for their country. It is won by the army and the people who respect their leaders. I feel sorry for the soldiers who had to fight and die because they were poor and old while the rich and women left the country. What if the war lasts 5 more years or 10 years. It seems that the president and the Parliament will have a job for quite some time if that is the case.
To be fair I think these days you would need electricity to run an election.
Yevhenia Kravchuk and Kira Rudik being Members of Ukrainian Parliment do not know Ukrainian laws. As per Ukrainian legislation, only parliament cannot be elected during war time, this rule is not applied to the president elections.
