In this chapter of the “How Old Is It” video book, we’ll cover stars - second generation stars. We start with giant molecular clouds and what may trigger their collapse into star clusters. We’ll follow their size, density, and temperature as they move from hydrostatic equilibrium to fragments to stars. We’ll then follow the collapse of a fragment capable of creating a star like our Sun. We’ll cover how circumstellar disks around central massive objects are formed. We’ll cover the Protostar phase and examine a few like the ones in the Eagle Nebula and Orion. We’ll cover T-Tauri stars, their properties, and examine several including T Tauri itself, XZ Tauri, and others. We’ll cover how these giant molecular clouds form Open and Globular clusters and how Field Stars like our Sun have left their starting clusters. We’ll follow stars as they start burning hydrogen and migrate to the Main Sequence on the H-R Diagram. We’ll take a deep dive into the hydrogen fusion that powers stars. With a focus on our Sun, we’ll compute proton collision and fusion rates. In order to understand the mass-luminosity relationship better, we’ll cover the Coulomb Barrier and how Tunneling through it works. And finally, we’ll examine what happens to a star once it runs out of hydrogen fuel.

Yes, but how much better is this than the hundreds of videos where the presenter feels a need to express amazement and excitement, as if the subject needs sensationalising in order to retain our interest? (And to dumb-down the explanation and repeat each part three times.) Just watch it again when your focus is back in alert mode. David, don't change a thing.

Some astronomy/physics presentations in KZread seem too dumbed down as if intended for preschoolers, some are pure hype and obnoxious jargon, intros or bumper music. Even the more academic videos are tedious, filled with math, technical mumbo jumbo or simply unbearably long. Then I came across one of your works and, to my surprise, everything I ever wanted in a science video I found it in yours. From How Small Is It to How Old Is It and every other video you've posted have been a most valuable tool for the understanding of science for a dumb peeson like myself. Thanx so much, David. Keep it up .

If u could go at least 180+ thousand miles a SECOND. It would take you a year to get there. That is what a light year means. If the sun turned off like a light switch we would still see the sun for 8 minutes. The sun is miles away. The nearest sun after our sun is light years away. Cars go 70 miles an HOUR. We are quantumly Small. And yet so big compared to the very small. Welcome to life and to your everything.💖⭐️☮️🌹. This is the video I’ve been looking for recently. I’ve wondered how star formation works. But what I don’t understand is how large the first stars have to be to create these gigantic nebulas. Or were many of these large nebulas created by multiple star explosions? For example 30 Doradus is 1000+ light years across, how can a single star explosion create such a massive nebula like this? And wouldn’t it be forming stars very quickly which would just be colliding all over the place and making more of a mess? Space is such a strange place….

It takes lots of stars making lots of dust over lots of time to form a nebula like this one.

Random not so smart girl who has no dressing sense can have 1 million subscribers in no time. Channels like this which are better then commercial documentaries out there have only 119k? I’m glad I found this channel and sad that I found it 2 years later of its coming into existence. I often watch universe related videos (been doing since 2008) yet KZread is showing this to me in nov 2020. KZread started back in 2006 with the idea to share informational videos not freakin pervertish or dumb stuff.

I am wondering if it's a reupload or a new video? EDIT: Checked the playlist. It's a new video.

Pillar of creation indeed. How clever.
