At 23:27 note that the temperature at the Sun's core is more like 15 million degrees - not 15 billion degrees.
We begin with the discovery of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) radiation. We cover Recombination, Decoupling, and the Surface of Last Scattering that created the CMB. We examine the nature of the CMB temperature Anisotropy and how, through a process known as Caustics, it lead to galaxy filaments and great voids. This analysis includes Cold Dark Matter. We then cover Vacuum Energy, the Casimir Effect and Dark Energy. We then cover the observational evidence for an Accelerating expansion. We then go beyond the surface of last scattering to Neutrino Decoupling, Nucleosynthesis, Baryogenesis and Cosmic Inflation. We summarize with a review of the cosmic time line, and conclude with a look at current and future cosmology research.

I have seen this video more than a couple of times and still believe this is maybe top 3 all time universe videos just because of the pin point accuracy and communication skills to such a topic. Even not knowing anything, here, you can get more than a glimpse of our reality and how it all began
No sound effects, no cuts every 10 seconds, no horrible CGI effects..... Those people producing documentaries for TV should take a hint from this series. It is amazing that an "amateur" is able to produce content that is way ahead of what the professionals are able to do. This is the way content about space should be presented, and there is enough information in every one of the episodes that I need to watch them several times.

"Professional" means. gets paid. they want you to keep watching, not to actually learn something.. because then you don't need them anymore ;)
David butler is incredible. Always good (and not superficial) videos
Wow,I learned more from this video than what is taught for an entire semester. The classical music is a bonus.
Am i the only one who picks videos iv already seen to listen to when going to sleep? His voice calms and soothes me.

Almost everyday..
This guy's videos are some of the best for making these much discussed concepts understandable to ordinary people. He doesn't used hype, or toss out jargon like a lot of the superstars of science, he just carefully explains things as they have been understood to be, and therefore I get a better understanding of the ideas, a plain view so to say.

Yeah I agree. This honestly should be how people are taught about these topics. I have a feeling this will outlast and become a new model for how educational material goes forward...

This answered my question about the big bang model. It makes perfect sense visible light only reaches us from as far as the time of point were cooling resulted in release of the trapped photons. And the photons went '' kaboom! who wants to see!''😮😮😮All jokes aside, I don't think I've seen any presentation related to this topic to even come close to the informative quality here and I think Mr Butler deserves an Award for presenting cosmology in such masterful and also down to Earth manner.
I listen to David to relax. He's the best.
Awesome videos like these are what makes KZread worthy. Thanks, David!

This series is the best educational tool of all astronomy videos available on KZread. It is presented in a format that is conducive to learning. It has one narrator speaking in a calm, clear manner at a pace that allows the listener to absorb what is being said. It references to other chapters in the series that allow the viewer to "brush up", if necessary, to ensure the viewer can comprehend the material. Well done, sir!
What an absolute masterpiece of presentation of difficult ideas with enough math and physics to go beyond dumbed down popular science alternatives. My hats off to you dear Mr Butler. Teaching is definitely your calling. I almost forgot, your voice is also spot on. 🇨🇦👍
Im listening on ipad to David whilst typing this on iphone. He sure knows his stuff. Im starting his videos from the beginning of his KZread videos 7 years ago. The dudes voice is great for astronomy. Awesome David. Thanks
Hi David, I'm reviewing your video books on a new, large 4k tv and am very impressed with how beautiful it all looks. I'm recommending your coursework to my technically oriented friends while we're all hunkered down to beat the bug. I can now read the on-screen equations, and notice other details. What fun to spot Ayrton Senna in his McLaren MP4 racing off to a distant galaxy! Hope you are happy and healthy in these interesting times.
This video explains all of the concepts so easily and it makes so much sense. Thank you David Butler.
Very clear explanations. You are my hero
Even with such an interesting subject, David's voice and the classical scores are good sleep medicine! Pleasant Ethereal Dreams to all!
How do you not have more subscribers or views. The explanations are as understandable as you can get for laymen like me and the soothing voice is nice. The “how far” series should be a televised documentary. Thank you for the education.
You are a national treasure. Thanks
Best collection of videos I have ever watched in years about the universe. Thanks mate
They're so great.... thanks
Best series for the layperson on the net..especially HOW we know what we know
Best ASMR out here
Love it. I wish my family and friends understood my love for science. The only time I really get to enjoy this subject is by myself. And when I do discuss the how, what and why in the simplest terms they shout "geek alert"....

Excellent video. I cannot thank you enough for creating this and having it freely accessible as well. The quality is top notch ! The content is superb. Needless to say I learn a lot from this. Also rewatching it for deeper understanding.. !! 👍😊
despite the difficulty understanding physics concepts.. i have huge interest, i'm following and listening multiple times... hoping to learn alot about the cosmos... amazing work!
This is the best explanation period. Thank you.
This answers quite a few questions that have been on my mind for so long. Thank you for explaining things in a way that make sense to so many. I'm looking forward to the new experiments and the information that they will be providing! Keep up the great work that you do!
This guy is my new hero! The graphics are so spot on. A brilliant guy met his time with tech
One of the best presentation on KZread about cosmology. Mr Butler have several high quality presentations. Worth watching all of them. I have shown most of them to my kids. Thank you for sharing it.
So well explained. Thank you so much David.
Why have I only just found this channel? Superbly done.

Dan G so you can watch all vids at once. Oh, lucky you :)
Your channel has quickly become one of my favorites, not only love watching it to educate myself, but great for my anxiety when I’m trying to go to sleep, but can’t.
As ALWAYS... Thank you! I learned a couple things from this video. I'm pretty well read but you my friend are definitely ahead of the times. Look forward to more.
Thank you so much for all your hard work Sir. We all appreciate your videos so much!
Thank you so much for this recording material. I've really loved it to the most ..
Another great video! Thank you!! You brought up fractals...do you have a video, or might I suggest, a video on fractals? Mendalbrot's set and chaos theory may be out of the scope of what you are doing. But you have such a great way of explaining things! Cheers!
Wow, it's mind blowing to think how much knowledge humanity has gathered for a fraction of time (like 10000y). And this trend looks to me as rapidly accelerating with every new research, discovery, invention, technology, etc. Like all this is interconnected, more you know, more you want to know. I like one thought : - we've learned so much about the universe with its life, and yet we know only a fraction of the big picture.
Gloriously optimistic about the life after watching this. Even when I don't quite get it....might have to watch it twice, thrice or even more! Somehow thought, it lifts my spirits! Thank you!
I'm hooked on these videos, it's so amazing to see the birth of our universe and if our own solar system, the mathematics you explain is excellent for bringing it down to size so someone like me can understand the processes, thank you for a great presentation.🌎
Yet another fantastic series. I lost count of the many times i listened to your videos. They are on repeat in my ear while sleeping (after i heard them many times awake) Thank you from Sweden!
Thanks for your content Mr David
thanks for this great upload - superb narration.
You’re awesome. I love your videos. So easy to listen and watch. Very educational. Love it. Thank you.
Mr David Butler - Master of the Cosmos .
Wow this video connected all loose information I've had into one sense making story. Thanks for that. Great vid David!
Mr. David Butler; thank you so very much for your wonderful videos! They're greatly informative and enjoyable for a school dropout such as me! You are very good at this! Please continue dear sir!
Wow! Great to see you are back! The explanation and visuals on baryogenesis, neutrino decoupling sequence was very helpful. I did not understand that part of the big bang before :)
I love your videos. So packed with knowledge.. I can watch them again and again!
i absolutely love this channel and watch it daily. thank you for your work, Mr. Butler!
Amazing video! Thank you so much!
Rated 5 STARS ! ***** ! This is a fine video that explains several key concepts about the CMB and its relation to the current Big Bang model of cosmology. WELL DONE ! An excellent adjunct for any high school science class with an astronomy component or lower division college course in Astronomy. Easy to follow, clear concise language, excellent graphics. BTW Arno Penzias name is hard to know how to pronounce. No matter, t Thank You !
Merci pour ce passionnant reportage et ces explications claires et tres bien documentées Thanks a lot for your job Mister Butler Thanks !!!
Thanks, absolutely love your channel!
Absolutely love this series.
So nice to have you back! Been looking forward to the new video book. I recently moved from the San Diego area to AZ (I really hate this state! I miss CA very much & can't wait to get back!!!) - so over the past few months I've hardly been online at all which has made things go even faster. Before I left I had watched all the other video books in your series -not just once, but at least two or 3 times- and each time it was a pleasure. Thanks for all the work you put into these.
Thank you publisher ,the clarity is very helpful
Thank you sir. Well spoken and delivered.
David, I love the way you explain things, you must have put a lot of work into this.
Thank you. For these amazing videos. I probably will have to watch them more than once. And I will. (BTW, in this particular vid music is not disturbing. And I love use of YT chapters. Well done 👍)
Excellent video, thank you much appreciated : )
Nice & compact explanation of the esoteric processes of universe formation.
Absolutely Superb!!! Thank you David
david !!, an excellent video and lesson again. you are born to be a scientist and a teacher of the highest level.
You are an excellent educator Sir, ty.

David Butler I enjoy using the howfarawayisit.com website very much. I use it a lot to demonstrate different subjects to my friends and family. Because of the shortage of time, I was only able to present a few minutes of this video. All the other sources (such as the video playbooks and your website), I use for my own research and introduce to my friends.
You are a gifted educator.
Brilliant clarity of explanations.
good video , read slow is good for me ,I love writing number more time ,, earth , moon , sun and cosmos., They will weeping when l die ! it is the leaveing of life Thanks my professor ,
You are a gift to all of us - Thank you for your efforts - Seriously - Thank you.
Great and clear content, perfect timing and rhythm even for may horrorific english. Thanks :)
Im using this to fall asleep and to learn .....
Yes you are back!
Geat to everyone getting into astrophysics, i love this!
As always your audiobook is a masterpiece! Thank you for uploading it! May I advance two quedtion? How is the ratio of leptons determined? Why does a decrease rather than an increase in mass density originate a galaxy cluster? Thank you!
It's so hard to grasp ... thank you very much my friend
Amazing
Love watching space documentaries
The surface temperature of our sun is 5777 Kelvin (1:08 min). I love your videos. Thanks for the work and very best regards from Germany.

Thank you David Great Teachings for the Lay person Like myself to grasp the wonderment of our universe
Your channel of your text book understanding is good going in cosmology introductions of all big components of this science. In regards to CMB , it is a background of transparent universe we observed. Microwave can be produced by resonating electron. If free electron available and resonating can give us a background even in the solar bubbles .The cosmic background are dominated . Please explain the significance out of random
Chemical is a living thing of the universe. Thank you Mr. David Butler for your video.
