How Old Is It - 03 - Big Bang ΛCDM Cosmology (4K)

At 23:27 note that the temperature at the Sun's core is more like 15 million degrees - not 15 billion degrees.
We begin with the discovery of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) radiation. We cover Recombination, Decoupling, and the Surface of Last Scattering that created the CMB. We examine the nature of the CMB temperature Anisotropy and how, through a process known as Caustics, it lead to galaxy filaments and great voids. This analysis includes Cold Dark Matter. We then cover Vacuum Energy, the Casimir Effect and Dark Energy. We then cover the observational evidence for an Accelerating expansion. We then go beyond the surface of last scattering to Neutrino Decoupling, Nucleosynthesis, Baryogenesis and Cosmic Inflation. We summarize with a review of the cosmic time line, and conclude with a look at current and future cosmology research.

I have seen this video more than a couple of times and still believe this is maybe top 3 all time universe videos just because of the pin point accuracy and communication skills to such a topic. Even not knowing anything, here, you can get more than a glimpse of our reality and how it all began

No sound effects, no cuts every 10 seconds, no horrible CGI effects..... Those people producing documentaries for TV should take a hint from this series. It is amazing that an "amateur" is able to produce content that is way ahead of what the professionals are able to do. This is the way content about space should be presented, and there is enough information in every one of the episodes that I need to watch them several times.

This guy's videos are some of the best for making these much discussed concepts understandable to ordinary people. He doesn't used hype, or toss out jargon like a lot of the superstars of science, he just carefully explains things as they have been understood to be, and therefore I get a better understanding of the ideas, a plain view so to say.

This answered my question about the big bang model. It makes perfect sense visible light only reaches us from as far as the time of point were cooling resulted in release of the trapped photons. And the photons went '' kaboom! who wants to see!''😮😮😮All jokes aside, I don't think I've seen any presentation related to this topic to even come close to the informative quality here and I think Mr Butler deserves an Award for presenting cosmology in such masterful and also down to Earth manner.

This series is the best educational tool of all astronomy videos available on KZread. It is presented in a format that is conducive to learning. It has one narrator speaking in a calm, clear manner at a pace that allows the listener to absorb what is being said. It references to other chapters in the series that allow the viewer to "brush up", if necessary, to ensure the viewer can comprehend the material. Well done, sir!

I'm recommending your coursework to my technically oriented friends while we're all hunkered down to beat the bug. I can now read the on-screen equations, and notice other details. What fun to spot Ayrton Senna in his McLaren MP4 racing off to a distant galaxy! Hope you are happy and healthy in these interesting times.

Wow, it's mind blowing to think how much knowledge humanity has gathered for a fraction of time (like 10000y). And this trend looks to me as rapidly accelerating with every new research, discovery, invention, technology, etc. Like all this is interconnected, more you know, more you want to know. I like one thought : - we've learned so much about the universe with its life, and yet we know only a fraction of the big picture.
