Bruce Will Es they can show money from KZread but usually not sponsorships. When you sign a contract it doesn't allow you to reveal how much they paid you.

I know those other KZreadrs try hard to transition and still keep some of their content the same cuz they think that's what viewers want but it just sometimes turns out cringey even though I know they work hard as well. But you and your sister did such a good job transitioning and maturing your content and I still love watching your videos. I unsubscribed to so many of the other KZreadrs that I've watched when I was younger.

Awesome video, Shelby! I always enjoy learning how much other KZreadrs make. And then I cry, because my niche is historically a lower CPM niche, lol. Time of year is huge for ad revenue as well. Companies gearing up for the 4th quarter with Black Friday and Christmas have more in their advertising budget because they are looking to sell more products. I always love the 4th quarter! haha

@Tigron It varies for the time of year. Right now it is pretty decent around that much. But then at the beginning of the year it is like half of that much. My other channel, with far less subs, has about double the RPM so around $14 but again it depends on the time of year, right now is the highest time of year for RPMs

I LOVE how transparent you are with your finances in this video. Not nearly enough people are talking about this. I just started my own channel for this specific reason and am so happy to have found another youtuber interested in being this transparent with their audience.

By far most down to earth KZreadr. I knew this wasn’t clickbait because I saw the other video about how much you made off 1,000,000 views a few months ago! Now I’m just waiting for the algorithm to pick up one of my videos😂

They really have been! I don't know of any other KZreadr making videos similar to what Shelby's made this year. I love the creativity!!

Nice to see someone being so honest about what they make, so it gives other people a realistic idea of the money you can make, but also all the work and time that goes into these videos, and the years it takes to build up a subscriber base like Shelby has. Go to see her having success, and has worked hard for it, and deserves every penny she makes from it. I'd bet in another 5 years, she'll have around 3- 4 million subscribers, and maybe more ??

You're not like other egoistic KZreadrs you honestly showed it. Appreciated.

Your vids are so good that you've told me that you make more money by stretching the videos to 10 mins and I STILL watch them all the way to the end lol... Nice work and great transparency.

The KZread algorithm loves videos longer than 10 minutes because KZread themselves also profit from the extra ad in the middle

yeah I don't get it.. chrome is going to start banning ads that do things people hate like interrupting the video to show an ad in the middle - but would they actually do that to youtube? They are the second most annoying ads after the nearly hour long skippable ads (I believe the longest I encountered was 48 minutes but then it started to play it constantly)

This is not how tax brackets work. You don't pay the 24% on the entire amount. Only on the portion between 84k and 160k.

Fair play for being so open. Appreciate it. The total and then breakdown was very helpful! Obviously your sponsors you can’t disclose but it’s nice to know an overall from you tube ads!

Shelby's & Amy Landino's ads are pretty much the only ones I watch. Love how they both relevantly incorporate their ads into the video without it sounding like an ad.

Great video Shelby. I think today was the second time I watched it. The first time I watched it was a couple of months ago I think. I found it so informative, honest, spontaneous (no matter how many edits you may have done, you come across as trustworthy. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing what you do next.

Honestly, this is the only video I watched about this topic that gave SO MUCH INFORMATION!!! Like most videos talking about how much they paid only stopped at how much they make per thousand views, leaving their viewers "calculate" or make a speculation. BUT this video, IS REALLY AWESOME! She showed everything, and even gave her own analyses on how she did it. I mean, simply, the best video on this topic among almost hundred videos I watched talking about the same topic.

Her “how much I make” money videos put me in a trance lol i can’t stop watching I’m just so curious about this and she really explains it so well and doesn’t hide anything

Here in Ireland taxes are awful, normally would be 40% but then by the time you include insurance and other charges, it’s more like 47-48%

Thx for being candid. I believe you still make money with ads, even if I skip them. And if someone clicks on them and/or buys stuff from that ad, I am sure you get a different amount.

The second ad you inserted was at the very end AFTER people might have left. Put it in the middle. You are so nice to listen to that I wouldn't be mad if you had two commercials during your video's!!! Three and you'd be history! Kidding!!!

Hey Myles! I would suggest starting out by not worrying about making an income and doing something you are passionate about and enjoy. It will allow you to experiment to find out what works. Once you have a certain threshold of subscribers, then you can monetize your KZread channel. Shelby mentioned certain types of content earn more ad revenue. May be worth doing some research. I hear Skillshare has classes to help with that. :D

Shelby is killing it with an additional 480,000 subscribers from the beginning of the year till now early April!

Good to have accountant doing all the bookkeeping. It is totally worth not having a headache and focusing on what you do well. Big fan of the channel. Love the new direction you going to.

Love the video, I’ve been watching your channel for YEARS!! ❤️ But just to clarify, that’s not exactly how tax brackets work. Being in the 24% tax bracket (in Cali) you pay $14,382 in taxes from the first $84,200 of income and then pay 24% of the rest ($140,000-$84200). So you end up paying about $27,773.50 in taxes, not $33,600. Which is still A LOT of money regardless. Sorry, I’m an accounting and finance major and I love talking about this stuff. Great video!! Edit: this isn’t considering any standard or itemized deductions she could have since 1) don’t know which she used and how much she could’ve deducted if she itemized and 2) I’m just trying to explain how the brackets themselves work. Also, this is only considering state taxes since that is what she was trying to explain in the video

A-Frame-Wedge you’re right I only calculated the state tax liability. She would have more of a tax liability if you calculated city taxes as well but my point was to explain how the California bracket works since she was trying to explain only that! 😌

I honestly love these types of videos. Can you go into depth about how you’re rationing your money when suddenly coming up to earning 6 figures? Also would love to see a budgeting or lifestyle video of you living off a minimum living wage to call attention to how problematic it actually is.
