Let's keep in mind that the 350 hp C5 made 276 on the same dyno/same day👈
@PolishBullitt

Yeah that’s true
@gripunit

a C5 with miles and years on it likely does not have 350hp crank anymore. Using old cars to compare loss in power on a Dyno to a newer car isn't going to be a great comparison.
@PolishBullitt

@gripunit it will definitely loose some power over time plus who knows how they maintain it

@gripunit I understand what your saying but considering it's a Corvette it doesn't have "average" miles on it. Also, as long it's oil has been changed and the plugs are up to par, I can't see it losing "that much" over time🤔
That’s great Hyundai did not lie on the 10+ hp NGS

What's the loss with DCT? Cause I know back in the day 15-20 yrs ago..lol. The rule was FWD manual cars 15 percent drivetrain loss, RWD 20 and AWD cars 25 percent. No idea with today's new tech and DCT's etc etc . I'm guessing least 10 percent loss on a FWD DCT car.

I have the opportunity to run my Elantra N vs C6 Corvette. The guy in the stop next to me in the light, asked to me; What you have?, I say, Hyundai Elantra N, he asked; how many hp you have? Have near 276 hp, he asked; Is fast? is fast I say. He asked; you want to try? We run. Both cars is very close, is impressive. I love my EN.

Theres a HP graph you can add in N mode screen and octane learned with a hard pull the screen showed me 300HP WITHOUT NGS so with NGS 310HP easy throw in a purple powerflex bushing for wheel hop and you got the best bang for buck sports car in my opinion

Always keep my oil changes done in a timely manner. Wifes Optima is at 109k. Had both those cars since new (kia optima is a 2012) and Genesis coupe is a 2013. No issues from either. No novel reply here lol. Congrats on the nice dyno pull, really impressive. I wonder what numbers it would make on a dynapack dyno. Its a hub dyno where you take off your wheels and bolt it directly to the dyno's hubs. No drivetrain loss no wheel spin nothing. Just straight number without any BS.
@PolishBullitt

Thanks brother, I wonder myself how much hp it would show on that type of a dyno, but still super happy from what I got 😃
@richm658
Жыл бұрын
FYI there will be the same amount of drivetrain loss on any dyno....roller or hub! Drivetrain loss typically refers to any loss occurring between the crank and wheels. IE: Trans, diff etc which is a function of the vehicle's drivetrain efficiency and has nothing to do with the dyno. In addition if the vehicle has good rubber, is strapped properly, dyno properly maintained and roller fiction (drag) is setup correctly wheel spin should not be a concern until you are somewhere in the neighborhood of 800 to 1,000 WHP or more depending on dyno. In hundreds of pulls I have never seen wheel slip on a 300 WHP vehicle.

Read 6-61 in the maual for "Octane Numbers Learning." I wish i would have read first instead of listening to everyone. THERE ARE TWO OPTIONS: •"When high and constant speed driving is possible (highway, expressway, freeway, ect.) Top gear fixed (MT: 6th gear) (DCT: 8th gear) Constant speed control (Cruise control is possible) Vehicle speed - 68-99mph Driving time - 5 minutes or more •"When high and constant speed is NOT available (circuit, ect.) 4th gear or 5th gear fixed. Accelerator pedal - 40%-70% Vehicle speed - 25-75mph, repeating slow acceleration within the area. Driving time - 5 minutes or more." Well, I guess you dont need to read the manual now, lol. Thats all that it says. It gives some graphs too. I tried the highway one for more than 5 minutes, once. Didnt work. The second option has worked several times for me. I just wish i read the manual sooner i stead of listening to others because I was trying to keep the throttle at exactly 50% which was kind of hard ( though I got better at it) and hard on my brakes. This is just slow acceleration and deceleration. Much easier. Its still a pain in the ass though. I just need a tune with a better fuel pump. Aaaanywaaaay, I SO wish you had OL becasue that solid number would have been soliderrerr. 😂 It would have been MORE solid. But, you did amazing! And thank you so much for sharing your awesome dyno day🎉

Just get a tune and then you don't have to worry about octane learning. It's a huge joke I run 93 all the time and only get 15 to 16 PSI. In the way the manual says for the first way to do it is to be on the interstate for 5 minutes between a certain mile per hour but you have to be over 20% throttle ..If you have cruise set on the interstate you're only at like 9 or 10% throttle. I laugh when you mention about having a apply the break and give the car gas that's so dumb just to octane learn
