How do you even calculate "fastest 0-60 per dollar," it doesn't make sense

I paid approximately $77/hp for my mustang ecoboost. It was 26,000 including tax and fees, so it was somewhere in the 23,000-24,000 range for 310 ponies.

You should do a torque/$ version of this! I would find that more interesting than this which is still an awesome video!

@@oweeen976 That is true, but also very different. Cars can maintain peak hp for an extended period of time. Living animals are of course very different. A horse can not provide 15 horsepower for a very long time. It might be able to pull short bursts of 15 hp, but if you use a horse to do mechanical work, in the long run it will avarage on 1 hp

Resale is more like 5000-8000 even for high mileage cars. Really fun car though for sure.

1 horse = 3000usd. 3000/15 = 200. One horse costs you 200usd per hp. One horse makes 14.9hp at peak but round it off to 15hp. I mean this is the kind if stuff they should have taught in high-school

That Camaro V6 cost the same as a Corolla (around 140 hp) here in Argentina (the Camaro V8 I think it's over $100000 USD). It's just sad. I know the US doesn't get free healthcare or free education, but tbh, in my country free healthcare is awful, free university is good but oversaturated (and ending with less graduated than in the US).

@@user-ox5ir2rd6g It's very good especially on corner exit. You can tell the Alpha 2 chassis is extremely capable. The tires that come stock with the LT1 are not the stickiest. Not bad by any means but if I really needed that edge I would swap them out. Other than that very very happy with the handling!

The Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 would have made the list if it wasn’t discontinued in 2016. It had base msrp of $26,950 and had 348 hp so $77.4 $/hp.

Actually in 2013 it began with 2 engines a 2.0 and a 3.8. the 3.8 had an MSRP of 29,625. But it actually had a HP per dollar of 85.1 which is really good thou so yes it should be on this list but it's discontinued. Just remember this is when Hyundai came from selling crappy cars close to nothing. So the genesis they were losing a lot of money making them and selling them sooo cheap for a lot of power. It wasn't good business. They learned that with the Veloster N too.

I was expecting the Corvette, Camaro, Mustang, Hellcat, and the Civic Type-R to make the list. But I guessed that the VW Gulf R and a WRX would have made the list too. Wow I was also thinking that an EV would have made the list. I'm shocked, honestly. Keep the good content coming bruh, I'm catching up! lol

1. A horse while sprinting can reach 15hp(that’s 200$/hp) 2. A horse is built for torque, that’s why it has quick acceleration and low top speed.

A dealership gave me a 2019 charger scatpack for 34k out the door. Comes out to $70/hp. Normally they're like 37k out the door coming out to be $76/hp

Horses have around 15 horsepower when exerting Maximum/unsustainable energy, for example while galloping. While doing activities like agriculture work (sub stainable workload) they are outputting approximately 1 horse power.

If we are factoring in Electric Cars into the mix, the Tesla Model 3 LR AWD has 450 HP and costs $48,990 giving it $108 per HP. If you live in a place with cheap electricity, charging to full would cost around $5.
