Cindy thank you for this presentation. I have been a Type 1 diabetic sufferer for the last 46 years. I would not have had this ongoing time if not for this research. My diabetes like millions of others is not cured but managed with injections of insulin. My original Endochronogist actually told me I would not live past 55 years I was 35 at the time. I am now in my 76 year. Thank you again for this.

Sold the patent for a dollar... Too rare selflessness... Especially considering the cost of Insulin today...

Yup, probably the primary reason synthetic insulin was researched, so they could patent that and profit.

I wish you would have elaborated on the current state of affairs, where insulin is very expensive. It's crazy that the discoverers of insulin gave it away for 1 dollar so that there would be no profit motive, but what happened in the end was just the opposite.

I hope high blood pressure will be cured permanently in the future so that I don't have to use medicine daily. The medicine has so many side effects, always a pain in the head and dryness in the nose. So hard to study.

For about a year, I worked as a security installer with extreme pain in my wrists making my job very difficult. The doctor basically told me I'm getting old and to forget about it. Anyway, one day, my medication had run out and I would have to see this doctor to get it renewed. My wife was also on BP medication so I took hers instead for a couple of days. Guess what. No more pain. That "doctor" should have realized my pain might be a side effect of the medication HE put me on. I dropped him.

You have become the only creator who I watch as soon as possible when I get a notification. I have never watched one of your videos and felt like, that's time I will never get back, and often, like today, watch more than once because I learn. I'm currently touring the USA on my motorcycle, made a new friend, and sleeping on his couch this week. This morning at breakfast he informed me that his girlfriend is diabetic. I am forwarding this video to him now. If you wonder if anyone reads the description section, like your video content, this area is to the point with no fluff and professionally done. Again, thank you! Haha, or I guess these days, LOL, as I did actually laugh out loud. Third time reviewing this video and just noticed the Starship model on your desk. You are just too cool :-)

They forgot to include the janitor that cleaned up the lab. Oh and the accountants, bus drivers, window washers, I mean really, can't have a good experiment without clean windows.... Oh wait. maybe the Nobel prizes should be for the person that had the brilliant insight that everyone else was helping to chase down.

0:36 Carbs isn't the problem when it comes to the most common type of diabetes, it's fat which causes Insulin resistance because of intramyocellular lipids. Which is why vegan have lower chances of getting the most common type of diabetes as shown by the Adventist study 2.

@cindypom Unfortunately, the information your relay is somewhat in accurate. Perhaps you should read Toronto Historian Michael Bliss’s 1982 book ‘The Discovery of Insulin’ if you want to know the real story. Yes, that’s the book that Michael Bliss was asked not to publish so not to expose the Banting and Best myth, or wonderful fairytale as it was described to him. Thankfully he did, and finally JJR Macleod, (Joint Nobel Prize winner in 1923 for the discovery) got the recognition he so rightfully deserved and the true story was finally told. Sadly Macleod had been virtually airbrushed from history for over 50 years until then, and simply put, without Macleod the creation of insulin would not have happened when it did. Watch Michael Bliss narrate the story as it should be told in one of the few portrayals out there that gets it right! kzread.info/dash/bejne/gW192sqtaKefeKw.html John Otto - Type 1 of 49yrs
