Little trick: if you want to get rid of Tabernacle you can copy it with stage, sac it to legendary rule, then copy something else with stage (like field of the dead)

I love land decks, I remember watching someone play a fully blinged Lands deck in a paper legacy coverage video and it made me jealous of such a nice collection

Hey Phil! Thanks for sending that message to my wife for me. I would have, but I figured it was more fun this way. She commented somewhere on the vidya, too. As for the league, overall, I'm pretty glad with how it turned out. Being more resilient against control decks is a huge strength for mulch decks. Like, opponent played standstill and you said, yeah okay I'm just gonna cast a spell regardless. Unfortunately we didn't get a run at a combo deck which was what I really wanted to test, but that's okay. I'll take a 4-1 record with a banned EI and WPA as consolation. Thanks again for all the great content bud!

@ThrabenU Honestly, I'm not sure. Whenever a big ban happens, especially in blue decks, combo decks go wild which is the biggest weakness. Remember when top was banned and EVERYONE decided it was a good idea to play sneak and show after that?

Thank you for reminding me how broken Field of the Dead is. Legacy seems like the perfect amount of broken to make Field playable but not broken, and that makes me happy

A friend of mine played this deck at 4seasons in Bologna. We were suprised how people were unaware of the potential of the deck! Unfortunate she didn't reach the top32 but the deck was fire

its a very fun and goofy deck, but if you have the time, would definitely recommend just playing regular lands and swapping a few manabonds and fields in to that list over this one. the games where you mulch and put four mulches into the graveyard are very feels bad

that first game of round 3 against Initiative was cool to watch so close to pulling it back from the brink

Match 3 game 1 really shows how nutty the Initiative deck is. Opponent didn't even have WPA for most of the game and was still overpowering your Marit Lage and Field of the Dead zombies.

Legit this is one of those decks that I both want to build and makes me want to go play in paper somewhere

I think this is the deck you played for the first video I watched of yours. I actually called Cook to ask if I should splash red, or blue (or black). I think he said the consensus was red, but I tried black anyway. Ended up going x-1 at the event I took it to.

How many zombies? Not enough zombies! I need Zombardment levels here I do love land based strategies, they're a lot of fun, acting on an angle that a majority of decks have trouble interacting with.

14:38 Use anything but Wasteland to do that because when you put Wasteland in from Manabond you can then blow up the opponent's Volcanic Island before he can use it.

Love this deck. Could be worth running kahera as companion.

13:00 may be too cute of a line but you could have kept up Thespian's Stage to copy Tabernacle if they wasteland it. If they don't wasteland it, you copy their wasteland on their turn after they pay for their two creatures (presuming they do) and then on your own turn, then untap and slam blast zone and pop it (or do any number of other things)

Expressive Iteration once stuck my hand in a jar of acid at a party...for no reason.

i wonder if now that seasoned dungeoner is banned in legacy whether the 8 mulch list couldve won that matchup against the mono white deck

SO curious about how this reacts to the bannings. I assume that 4-mana initiative cards are still good enough to support a deck that dumpsters this one.

Should have had a glacial chasm for the initiative matchup.

How do you feel about Burgeoning in this deck? Gets you two lands if your opponent fetches

I think more landdrops per turn would be nice for this deck ^^

I heard the original 8mulch fell out of favor because decks started running Price of Progress in the side. What's bringing it back now?

I think it's more of a meta cycle thing. The initiative matchup isn't great, and yes delver is worse than it's been historically too, but that left it in the same "pet deck" position as many other decks.

Idk why u didn't have a glacial chasm In the board def would help u in the aggro matchups and some decks are dead to it

I actually felt bad for your opponent when you were looping manabond and life from the loam.

Looked like you might have misplayed against white dungeon deck. I think mass blocking lifelinker for the memes was not ideal.

Comment for algorithm.

God I hate how almost affordable this deck is, like it's just the tabernacle and two tropical islands

ALL THE ZOMBIES!

M3G1 Turn 6 when you attack with those 5 Zombies into 4 things, it seems really wrong to not Maze your own Zombies out of combat; your plan is to go wide so you really have a need for those plus it helps you take the monarchy sooner. You'd only lose one Zombie instead of 4 that way and get your Monarchy and Initiative the next turn instead of having them grind free value for your opponent. Could have changed the flow of the game honestly; you're the beatdown given that the enemy has monarchy there.

@@ThrabenUniversity This was at 30:48 when you get March of Otherworldly Lighted amidst the attack; I think those 3 Zombies are worth way more than a bunch of potential life if the enemy attacks you (them attacking you would let you just steal Initiative and Monarch easily on the next turn, which would be huge).
