THIS DECK IS STRONG...IF YOU'RE GOOD! Legacy Lands (RG Life from the Loam- Legacy MTG)

Ойындар

I play a Magic: the Gathering Online Legacy league with Lands, a classic Legacy deck that doesn't use any of those fancy new cards from Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle Earth! The classic combo of Life from the Loam and a giant pile of lands still holds up in the power-crept world of Legacy. Exploration allows you to make additional land drops, which either control the game with things like Wasteland or result in a combo finish with Thespian's Stage and Dark Depths producing Marit Lage. Urza's Saga (and to a lesser extent Minsc & Boo) are the alternative win conditions. This deck is likely the best deck that doesn't contain new cards from the LOTR set. While Legacy is drastically changing, some decks are still just GOOD.

    51:50 An incredibly funny interaction would've been to use your Map to get a Grove, tap the grove for R to heal your opponent back to 13 and killing the orc and its token with the Punishing Fire instead of aiming directly at the Death's Shadow.

    Lands is the kind of deck where you can win any matchup. A big part of Magic is playing to your outs, and Lands has a lot of them. One of the most fun decks across all formats.

    You can also have Thespian's Stage copy Urza's Saga, then on the third turn, copy a different land and still be able to make construct tokens for every turn afterwards because of layer shenanigans.

  • @Mentir42

    @Mentir42

    Nothing to do with layers I believe, it’s just not a saga anymore, so it doesn’t die to having 3 lore counters. But yes, very cute interaction :)

  • @DKforever24

    @DKforever24

    11 ай бұрын

    @@Mentir42 Actually, it is a layers interaction. The Lore counters and the abilities that Urza's Saga gives Thespian's Stage is on layer 6, while Thespian's Stages own copy ability is on layer 4, which is why Stage can continue to make construct tokens even after copying a different land after it was a copy of Saga.

    This gave me an interesting idea. If you could build a deck around Blood Moon - Dark Depths interaction... 1. Play Blood moon 2. Play Dark Depths (comes into play with no counters because blood moon has removed its abilities) 3. Destroy or bounce blood moon somehow - State-based affect of dark depths gives you an instant marit lage You could combine this with other such instant marit lage combos like vampire hexmage / thespian stage / etc. This concept could be really good in a red/black control shell.

    Lands is a damn pain to play, a lot of slogging. With the power, idk if you think this RG build, or the white build with sphere pack more punch? I do think this shows that lands is also very hard to play against if you are not on a combo like TES or Doomsday, just a annoying different angle that no other deck really has!? *I cannot afford to play with rings, or the orcs really, so D&T and Lands are what I will be on.
