yea, but saying it like that, I, and I guess a LOT of other folks, simply took it to mean that Vader and the Empire waged war on the Jedi and the Jedi fought and lost against them in battle. Not that they had special hit squads sent out specifically to murder Jedi or anyone Force sensitive. Again, what Obi-wan said was true... from a certain point of view.

@@bottleimpmixtapes Yes but remember, young kids and teense were the ones who watched this. Most adults didn't really give it much thought beyond "Space wizards with laser swords!" So for a while, yea, it was just taken as a simple thing. Now days, everyone is analyzing EVERYTHING so much that there's nothing left to possible chance. mostly because people hate getting snookered by misdirection like Ben Kenobi is shilling. :P

One thing I will forever be grateful for in the Obi-Wan Kenobi show is that it finally let us see just how good Owen and Beru were about raising and protecting Luke. I would definitely say he had a loving family.

I agree, something else i don't think anyone is admitting is how truly powerful Obi wan was. Obi wan beat maul, He beat Anikin (Vader) ROTS and he beat Vader in his Prime in the show. Now you can make the argument that he trained him and all and Vader was weakened due to his mechanics...........but you still have to give obi won props. He only lost on the death star to save Luke

I was stunned by how much I could achieve without doing anything. Just like Yoda's advice about peace, passivity, and The Force.

I wish Dave Feloni would make a Clone Wars type animation series that focused on the events between A New Hope, , The Empire Strikes Back and and Return of the Jedi to see how everything played out on screen instead of just reading it in comics.. maybe 3 seasons at 20 episodes a season with the first 2 seasons focusing on the events between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back and then season 3 taking place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.... I think a series like that would be a big hit

Agreed. I don’t understand why so much emphasis has been put on expanding the prequels through animated series, and yet nothing of this kind has been done with the original trilogy, during and after the events of IV, V and VI. Would have been amazing to see Luke’s adventures beyond the big screen movies (aside from the limited live action Mando-verse stuff, of course).

That would be amazing! :) I also had once such a thought hehe, I think any sort of chance of seeing and expanding on Luke Skywalker adventures in animation especailly would be great :). Some interesting material for episodes like the encounter with the bounty hunter looking for Han on Ord Mantell etc. and so on and on :).

@@lPHOENIXZEROl - I was thinking the same exact thing. I waited nine minutes expecting I would hear Luke's thoughts on it but nope. Obi-Wan had already told him that Vader helped the Empire hunt down and kill all the Jedi. So the comic didn't really give him much new info either.

Luke: Good ol' sand. I love sand. Vader: ....I have no son.

Didn’t Luke find out about this when Obi Wan told him that Darth Vader hunted down the Jedi? I mean he didn’t get the details and at the time he didn’t know Vader was his father. But he knew about this generally.

He was in denial and let's not forget that Obi-Wan also told him that Vader betrayed and murdered his father. Obi-Wan can express it as a certain point of view all he wants, but realistically, it was a lie. Intentional misinformation meant to deceive and mislead. So it's only natural that Luke was in denial when Darth Vader told him that he was his father. If he accepted it, he would have to accept Obi-Wan, the old man who he looked up to and trusted as a father figure lied to him. Anyone would have been in denial.

Luke knew the Jedi were purged at the hands of Vader, who was his father, from Obi-Wan. He just didn't know specific details.

Would be cool if Order 66 is talked about on Ashoka. She could visit luke and have them talk what went down. It could be an entire Order 66 Jedi Temple Flashback episode. I mention that because Hayden Christensen is available to do a whole episode to show what really went down that we never saw in the movie!

He knew full well that Vader and the Emperor hunted down and destroyed the Jedi Knights, though rummaging through the records within the former Senate dome and Jedi Temple would certainly be surprising to discover just how much Palpatine had been manipulating both sides to get what he wants.

“Although not high class, like his father”??? Anakin grew as a slave. He and his mother were dirt poor. I think Luke grew up in a much better environment than his father. Then you say Luke grew up in a “somewhat” loving home. Owen and his wife raised Luke like their own. Just bc kids today don’t like having a father figure around to help keep them straight doesn’t make Owen a bad father figure. If anything I feel like it does the exact opposite.

The completion of Special Order 66, was the will of the Force.

I always assumed that the inquisitors and the purge were common knowledge, given all the running around and killing in plain sight they did in the Obi-wan series and the other comic books. Not to mention that little speech Palps did in the RoTS movie.

It's interesting how strong and powerful force users stop being strong and powerful for plotlines, like people simply walking away from them, hopping in a boat and slowly driving off when Vader can apparently stop a space ship.

He talked about order 66 very briefly to try in that train wreck of a movie called the last Jedi

The reaction is also in expanded universe where r2 conveniently had a back up save.

It's a reason then!

I interpret Luke saying he loves sand as being being said with sarcasm.

Loving sand means to feel Earth under his feet oppose to water I imagine.

Luke likes sand, because despise being a farmer, he had family that loved him and he could spare some time and money getting plane models. On Tatooine, he was happy. Anakin hates sand, because as long as he lived there, his mother was a slave, and while she loved him, he was stuck trying to have fun anywhere he could. Then she died from Tuskens. Tatooine gave him nothing but pain.

Luke finds out his dad is Darth vader, finds out his about order 66 and his dad's involvement; still wants to who is responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of Jedi in millions because of alderaan and that was hardly the first time. Monster kill his nephew that he's known all of his life because of some bad dream he had. this kids, is why I don't believe in the sequels

Why wouldn't Yoda or Obi-Wan have told him, especially about the Inquistorius? Stuff like this just muddies the water.

Because knowing about order 66 and the Inquisitorius would only have made Luke want to know more about Darth Vader, and that might have led him down a path that neither one of them wanted him venturing down. They were both convinced that Anakin Skywalker was gone forever, that only Vader remained. And they feared that if Luke got tangled up with Vader before he was ready to face him, that it would only lead to his death, and the last hope for the galaxy would die with him. Yoda and Obi-Wan were both operating under a set of flawed assumptions about Anakin/Vader that informed all of their decisions regarding Luke's training. They thought the only way to stop the empire was for Luke to kill both Vader and Palpatine, so him knowing Vader's true identity would only complicate things unnecessarily. And to be honest, that wasn't an unreasonable thing for them to think considering everything that they had gone through.

These side adventures between Episodes are cool but information like this being revealed during this time makes no sense. I didnt know this comic existed until now so bear with me, but i always wondered what Luke really would have done had he seen the footage of Order 66 and seeing his father, before the suit, killing jedi and particularly the younglings. Without his full training there is NO WAY Luke would have been able to handle the weight of this information, and no way he would have forgiven Vader for what he did. I will add that given the outcome of Ep 6 it shows that Luke was still "easy to forgive" Vader in order to pull him out of the dark side even knowing about the events of order 66. IMO this should have been information Luke found out after the events of Ep 6. As he is trying to rebuild the jedi order, finding the remaining records of the jedi and stumbling on the recording of Order 66. It would have been a perfect opportunity for force-Ghost Anakin to speak to Luke about his actions and explain to him the inner turmoil he was going through. This is where we get a better look at Luke's inner-resolve and forgives his father for these atrocious actions.

I don’t get your wording… I’m sure it’s a miss step… It says same as his father… His father was a freaking slave. The only loving family Anikin had was his mother which he lost to the sand people.

Not rewriting, just adding to it. Authors did it all the time long before Disney acquired the IP.

But why. Why does he NEED to. Its not something inherently important to what needs to be done now. He knows his father is responsible and i think thats all that really matters.

Darth Vader wasn't Luke's father, Anakin Skywalker was.

George Lucas really messed up the moral message in the OT. Vader was an unrepentant mass-murderer who *only* betrayed the Emperor to save the life of his own son. Otherwise, he could stand and watch (and feel) Alderaan being destroyed without even flinching. He slaughtered young children. He helped wipe out most of the remaining Jedi. But he got forgiveness even though, as a Sith Apprentice, he was *supposed* to murder Palpatine all along.

Sadly, Order 66 failed in completely ridding the galaxy of the terrorist Jedi menace.

Nothing after Disney acquired Star Wars is canon to me. I hope it is the first thing they sell off as they go bankrupt so that someone that cares about Star Wars can repair it.
