We miss you guys! Brad's journey has been something. Just his ability to understand song lyrics has grown by leaps and bounds. And Lex has always had a natural emotional connection to music. Even my 82 year old mother mentioned you guys a couple of weeks ago. "I haven't see you reacting to them. They seem like such a nice couple!" 🙂

I don't judge people. One thing I never understood was the phrase "Black Culture " I am 57 and came up at the end of segregation and had black friends, and never did I ever hear that phrase. When and why is it a thing now? Educate me here. I never experienced racism of any kind. Nowadays it seems like we're going backwards. Growing up my circle of friends never brought up color, it was never a factor. I wish we could go back to that. We as a People.

As an old white guy without kids, I try my best to be accepting of younger people, people of different races and different lifestyles. I've never met you two, but through your reactions I feel like I know you personally. Definitely a human thing. Your brain has evolved to be wary of unfamiliar things because they could be dangerous. That’s why it’s so important to expose yourself to a really varied set of experiences. So your brain doesn’t make overly cautious decisions about too much stuff that could be beneficial to you.

I always said music from the 60's thru early 90's is the main reason why young people, generally speaking, DID NOT walk around with scowls on our faces, trying to look and act hard. EVEN IF WE WERE HARD, most the time you would't know it by looking at us. The music was optimistic and so were we, so we generally walked around happy, even if our circumstances were poor.

The great cultural achievement of American culture is the melting of music across all cultures and heritages. Thus music is a great way of realizing, human emotion may be triggered by different cues, but the emotions are felt in the same way. I remember a lot of commenters saying "Brad is too wooden, he never shows emotion, he sits there and barely moves while Lex steals the show" and I would reply with "Here is a man who loves his wife and who is happy for her to take center stage and watch her shine." The growth that you both have shown has been great to witness, and getting to see the "real" Brad has been an absolute blast. And now there's Jack Jack to complete the circle; we love you guys (and Nala and Tank!)

I can barely put into words how happy it makes me that music has improved your lives. I've been watching your reactions for so long, and we all know that Lex has an instinctive, visceral feel for music while Brad was always more reserved and less emotional, sometimes missing the forest (the melodies and rhythms and harmonies) for the trees (the lyrics), so the idea that emotion has snuck its way into Brad's reactions is beautiful (and there's that word again).

I really enjoyed this conversation. The entire reason I watch reactors is to see how a song affects someone the first time they hear it. Even more, how music affects someone's outlook on life after listening to a large variety of music. Frank Zappa once said "A mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work if it is not open." I believe variety is essential in life. I don't eat the same food every day. I don't watch the same type of movies every day and I certainly don't listen to the same music every day. I love how music and art has transformed Brad into a very fine entertainer. Brad, I enjoyed how you were talking about not always being in a great mood, but then having to stream. As a long time club DJ, I loved my job because no matter how crappy of a day I had in the outside world, I could leave that at the door and do my job. Once I got into an environment that I was in control of, everything was great. I guess that's one of the perks of being an entertainer. It was wonderful watching you two sit down and talk about this. Looking forward to more vlogs like this!

So glad you made this video. It HAS been amazing how your musical journey has enabled you to blossom as personalities over time, especially in Brad's case. There is so much I could say but I'm not gonna ... I just want to thank you on a personal level for the continuing enjoyment you have brought into my life, and I'm sure into many others. So when you have those days when you're not feeling so good, please remember the joy you've brought to so many by the sharing of yourselves and realise that what you do is so important ... Thanks guys ...😊

I'm actually tearing up watching this. You guys are talking about what it means to be enlightened, to open your minds to new experiences that allow you to attain a higher perspective. And you are there. And you're so beautiful in the way you talk about the journey. I have always considered you two among my favorite reactors, but this conversation just impresses me in such a new way. Because you're talking about music as the shared experience of the world, and how opening your minds to new music and new people and feeling good about what that does for you. And you're delightful together. I love your shared vibe. It's really beautiful and makes me emotional just to think about it. Thank you for this.

The brain does create new connections when you learn and grow. Movies are similar to music in that the right ones can make you grow but it’s not the made to seem clever movies that makes you grow. I know you’re super busy but there is one movie I recommend that has music as an important element and some gorgeous cinematography: Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Would be great to hear you both discuss it in a video like this.

Hey, it goes both ways! Doing these reactions has changed your lives and honestly watching you guys the last couple years has made a difference in my life as well! It’s like looking forward to your favorite TV show. Somebody once said the key to being happy in life is having things to look forward to, and I’m sure many of us here would agree you guys have given us that!… Quick note on judging genres of music and yeah, it doesn’t have to be just based on race… I grew up, loving Zeppelin and hard rock. Besides Zeppelin, there was Queen and Pink Floyd and Deep purple and Sabbath, etc. etc. And I lived that music in the 70s as it was being released and went to so many shows… But I hated Southern rock! It did not fit in my genre at all. Couldn’t stand Lynyrd Skynyrd… Or the Outlaws or Charlie Daniels or Marshall Tucker, etc.… How close minded and stupid, I could’ve seen Skynyrd at their peak and I didn’t because of my stubborn attitude. But I love that stuff now! Stubborn stupidity😲… Thanks for everything Brad and Lex!

Brad said it so precisely. Negativity judging music or anything else that’s outside of the cultural norm that we have grown up with is a human trait. That’s the part of your mind that gets opened up after having more diverse life experience. Music is a great doorway to that because all cultures and peoples have it as part of their existence.

brad is right, it's a human thing. exposing yourself to new things creates new feelings and it's common for everyone to close off certain things because we like a given thing so much. kids and chicken nuggets comes to mind. i enjoy all types of music and appreciate the sounds of every decade and love that their distinct. it's like a time machine too, that helps you understand a bit more about what influenced the people raised in that decade. it's insightful to me.
