Brad & Lex, He's an American classic. He has plenty of great stand-up routines online. You'd love him in the movie "Caddyshack"! I'm surprised he didn't slip in his signature line "I get no respect at all! " (while adjusting his red tie).

Rodney was one of the best of the best and there are many clips of him on KZread. He also made several films "Back to School", "Caddyshack", "Lady Bugs" and "Meet Wally Sparks" are some where he was the star. He also appeared in Adam Sandler's "Little Nicky". Johnny Carson was and always will be the king of late night. He hosted the Tonight Show for 30 years before he retired 1962 - 1992. He was friends with Sinatra and his Rat Pack as well as Don Rickles who is another one of the best of the best comedians along with Richard Pryor and Allen King.

If you really want an unfiltered comedian, Don Rickles is your guy. The best thing about him was after he would roast people, he always had the most kind, heartfelt words about how much that person meant to him, and he truly meant it.

The story of Rodney, is both tragic and brilliant. You know, he gave up his career early on to raise his kids (as he was literally abused and abandoned) worked as a salesman to raise his family. And when I say abused, deary, deary me what he endured Rodney re-entered Entertainment as an aged man. Huge, huge respect for that. 👌 Put his kids first. 👍

Rodney Dangerfield is a comedy legend
This is what was called "gag humor". Very fast-paced one-liners. This was first popularized in the old Vaudville shows. A lot of the early TV comics did this sort of stuff. It wasn't until Richard Pryor and George Carlin that the modern "story humor" became popular.

Observational humor.
Rodney is the OG of self deprecating humor and such quick wit. He started so many comics at the Dangerfield's Comedy Club. R.I.P.
Rodney was the king of two line jokes. One time I counted 73 jokes in the first 5 minutes of his performance. He also helped many of the big name comedians of today get their start.
Surprisingly, Rodney played a very dark and disturbing character in Natural Born Killers. The only time I've ever seen him in that type of role. He was excellent too, which isn't too surprising. He was a talented man.
@ryeis1

Director Oliver Stone said once in an interview that when he met with Mr. Dangerfield to discuss whether or not he would appear in the film, Rodney was hesitant because the role was not funny. Stone found himself in the precarious situation of arguing with one of the funniest people ever about what is funny! His role in Natural born killers was darkly comedic to be sure, but the director had to work hard to convince him of the comedic value.
Easy Money with him and Joe Pesci was a great comedy.

Got watch some of His Movies.. "Back to School ", "Caddyshack"
Rodney was one of the greats! His catchphrase was, "I don't get no respect." Everybody waited for that in his standup routines. He did several movies in the '80s where he pretty much played versions of himself.
Love Rodney. If you notice, when a joke of his doesn’t get a response from the audience, he asks if the overhead mic is working or on. Then goes on to say he should try them out on the road first…..what a guy! RIP Rodney…they broke the mold after you for sure. Cheers
...... Miss the 80's!!!!!! This is what comedy SHOULD be still!
Rodney is awesome!
Rodney Dangerfield is a national freaking treasure.. One of the funniest guys I have ever seen..
The king of the one-liners.
I sure do miss the 70's and 80's.
"She's been picked up so many times she's starting to grown handles." Handles, like the kind you pick up something by.
Rodney was great, one of the funniest and quickest comics ever, saw him preform live ,hilarious. 🤣
Rodney was one of the best. He had a comedy club called Dangerfield's, you can find more shorts on KZread. ✌️🥴
times were SO much better across the board back in the 80 , thats why so many of us miss it so much
"Back To School" is one of the most memorable movies of all time. Great quotable lines like "Give me a call sometime when you have no class" (to a teacher)
He was hysterical. Notice no cursing at all. Just straight up comic genius. Rapid fire, one Crack you up line after another. There will never be.another Rodney Dangerfield.
Rodneys stand up is the best...legend.

Loved this reaction. Rodney Dangerfield was one of the greats. This livestream was so much fun! Can't wait for the next one.
True legend. No one has his delivery.... not even close!
As many have said, Johnny Carson puts all of today's "late night hosts" to shame. He was NEVER political. Some of his best guests were Rodney Dangerfield, Don Rickles, Buddy Hackett, Dean Martin and Alan King. And "Easy Money" was a great movie!
The Comedy Standup stream was excellent. These two deserve major credit,5 live streams in a week,4 in a row. Much respect..
Oh, man. Rodney is hilarious. He had maybe the best line in Caddyshack. When he was with the dinner party observing Ted Knight's punk son, he turns to the person sitting next to him and said "now I know why tigers eat their young."🤣

I went to see Rodney live twice. Brad's right when you see him you are laughing through the whole show because their were so many jokes coming so quickly you didn't have time to stop laughing.
Rodney was wonderful!! Great timing, perfect comedy.
Even though I've heard all of Rodney's jokes 100 times, I still laugh. Rodney's the man. "My daughter's no bargain either. Her high school class voted her Most Likely to Conceive. I tried teaching her how to drive, she couldn't get used to the front seat. And my boy. I just wish his room was a s clean as his pot"

Great reaction you two! The 80's WAS unfiltered to be sure! We knew that a "joke" was JUST A JOKE...and we could laugh at OURSELVES. That's what's missing today... Another iconic, yet short lived comedian was Sam Kinison. You two might enjoy some of his jokes.
I miss the Carson show... what a legend and a pro :)
He was so funny with his one liners! One of my all time favorites
Carson was the master at this. He always made sure his guest was the focal point and got what he could out of them. These days late show hosts are all about their personal self promotion or politics.
@jazshas
Жыл бұрын
Yep and the politics is 99.99% Democrat
y'all have to realize Rodney Dangerfield was the king of the one-liners---he had a very rapid-fire delivery of telling jokes so you had to keep up...that was his schtick..and he always played like he was nervous and perspiring---his slogan was "I get no respect'---watch some of his stand up---he was a really funny dude
When I was growing up he was the funniest thing going next to Eddie Murphy, some of the movies he was in where hysterical, you could definitely get away with a lot more back then, it was great with no cancel culture!
Rodney was one of a kind and a national treasure. You haven't even scratched the surface of his one-liners, delivered machine gun style and always at his own expense. But on the other side of the coin was Don Rickles who could cut anyone, and I mean anyone straight to the bone with one line. Pick a nationality or ethnicity and he had an insult ready. No one was safe from him, and yet at the same time, everyone was in on the joke. Comedy was so much better when people didn't take their identities so seriously

Hey y'all, when you heard he was gonna be on a certain show you just had to tune in because you knew he was gonna be hilarious! He always said ''I tell ya, I get no respect''! Great reaction!
Rodney Dangerfield was the KING of ONE LINERS. He was was extremely popular since the early '60s through the '90s appearing in many nightclubs, TV shows and movies. He was on Johnny Carson's TONIGHT show 72 times. He was born in 1921 and died on Oct. 5, 2004. He had heart surgery but fell into a coma afterwards and never recovered. He was hilarious! Watched him all the time when he was on TV ( I am 75 years old, so I was around when he was popular! )
Their reactions just show exactly how timeless Rodney's jokes were!
He was a truly hilarious guy. And yes, things were MUCH freer back then.
Listen to the crowd cheer his jokes. Loved it then and love seeing it again. Thanks Brad and Lax.
One of my all-time favorite one-liners from Rodney is “the other night I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out”
I loved his comedy when I was younger. We need more like him today! A lot more.
I watched this Live...
I bought a Rodney cassette when I was 13 and had it memorized. Brad & Lex that was so much fun!! My Fav. reaction video of anybody who does Reaction Videos. Watching you was like I was watching & listening to him like the 1st time I heard him. PLEASE do more Rodney reactions!! 10-Stars!!
The late great Rodney Dangerfield,a laugh riot. Met him in the 80s at his club Dangerfield's out on the island, nice guy, great reaction.
One of the Masters of comedy. Fast, creative and funny as hell.
Rodney was in a class of his own. You should watch some of his roasts. Just rapid fire razor sharp wit from end to end.
Rodney is relentlessly hysterical. You should check out some of his stuff that hasn’t been toned down for TV.
Rodney Dangerfield was one of the last great 'old school' comedians. When Johnny Carson hosted The Tonight Show, there was more talent, class, and the guests always dressed accordingly. There was respect for the audience and the audience was greatly appreciated. Rodney was always a favorite on The Tonight Show.
Rodney Dangerfield was a true comedic gem, Caddy Shack, Back to school
Awesome, this is a great first Rodney, wish you'd a found the bit that led to it! He came out to CO to make a movie years ago and was very cordial throughout. ;-D
if you liked Rodney Dangerfield's unfiltered comedy on Johnny Carson, you should also watch Don Rickles ...HE was a frequent guest on the Tonight Show . Was also great on the old celebrity roasts they would do at the MGM Hotel in Vegas....all great old school unfiltered comedy...loved it all..
Good afternoon Brad and Lex. Peace and blessings to you and your family. You both made an excellent observation about how much entertainment has changed from my generation ( I grew up in the 60's ) to now. Most of the music, comics, radio, TV and movies from the 60's 70's 80's and possibly 90's would get cancelled today. I could go on a mile long rant but I think it's great that both of you aren't locked into seeing the world through a very narrow lens. This is a big world out here with so much to experience and learn from. Never allow anyone to put you in a box. I have no doubt that both of you will be great parents. It does take a village to raise a child. So your baby will be loved by an entire village of music lovers.
RIP Rodney.... You were one of a kind.
one night my kids were yelling FIRE.!!! my wife says to the kids not so loud you'll wake up daddy...lol
You need to watch “Caddyshack.” His character delivers a nonstop monologue every time he’s on screen. Yes, the 70’s and 80’s were lit.
This stream was a lot of fun! Looking forward to more of them. It is best to keep stand up and skits or sketches separate. They are two different art forms. Maybe next time we can do a Comedy Sketches stream. Take care, see ya tomorrow!
Hey y'all, check Rodney in the seventies, he was younger and had that great delivery.
You guys are among the best of the best. Thanks for having Rodney on when we all need to laugh!

Rodney was from Long Island NY just like me.
I miss when people could take a joke
You don't know what VD is. It what we used to say for STD. Venereal disease.
Love Rodney! You guys have to watch BACK TO SCHOOL. I used to watch that movie all the time when I was a kid.
One of my favorite jokes of his is "My mother, she never breast fed me....she told me she liked me as a friend!"
Thanks for doing this one, Rodney was comic genius, his delivery was one of the best
Comedians were known for their uniqueness back then. Rodney Dangerfield was known as the King of One Liners. After he would deliver his stand up routine, when he sat to chat with Johnny, he would just continue his jokes. He was a classic American comedian and one of the best. Other great classic comedians to check out: Buddy Hackett - Dirty but kept his story jokes clean for Johnny Carsons Show & other TV. Don Rickles - King of Insults Jonathan Winters - King of Improvisational Comedy Groucho Marx - King of Ad Lib. Arguably the Sharpest Comedic Wit of them all. Foster Brooks - The Lovable Drunk. Be sure to check out his roast on Don Rickles (From the Dean Martin Celebrity Roast Show).
I love Rodney on Johnny Carson
Rodney is the MASTER of delivery. He could read the phone book and make it funny. 😛
Another comic ICON.... It was great to grow up in the 70's and 80's. Nobody got butthurt...
Rodney was the man! lol
The associations " Never my love" 1967, live version, great love song
Don't you wish comedy was as free now. I love it. 🇨🇦🔥🥇👍💖
Rodney is classic!! My car is so bad that street gangs go by and put hubcap’s on it!! It’s so bad it’s got more miles on it vertically than it does horizontal!! Love him
Rodney Dangerfield is the gift that keeps on giving, the greatest standup comic ever IMO. Whenever I'm feeling down I put Rodney on and within 5 minutes I'm feeling better and laughing.
I had the chance to see Rodney live in Connecticut back in the 80's at the Shakespeare Theater. Hilarious 😂😂. Rip Rodney.
YOu guys are so fun to watch.. I dunno if it was this video, or the one before ( you all watching Sam Kinnesen screaming) But you all said you all high school sweet hearts.. I can tell.. You all just blend together, like on the same wave length. And also , yes, the 80s rocked. I was a teenager through the 80's. The absolute best time of my life. And believe me, America today is nothing like it was back then. You were free to talk, and express how you felt, and if some group tried to cancel you, ... well , no one cancelled you. The crap didnt exist. People like Rodney Dangerfield.. Andrew Dice Clay, Gilbert Gottfried.. geez watch some of his roasts he does on people. Don Rickles .. or old TV shows like All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Whats Happening, Good Times..
Rodney is the G. O. A. T
This video is old and refreshing!!! 🤣❤
Rodney was without a doubt one of the best comedians and that was without even saying his usual No Respect bit that was his trademark. How many comics today are even close to the kind of rapid fire one liners. Rodney was very well respected and more than a few stand up comics got their start by working in his club Dangerfield's.
The 60’s 70’s 80’s and 90’s rocked!! Lots fun. Johnny Carson was a great late night show. Everyone is so uptight now. It was great back then…..music….movies….comedy. All this social media has turned things around. The only thing that is cool is KZread. ✌️❤️✌️
