Спорт

Coach Nick went through Latvian star Kristaps Porzingis to find out how he's been scoring at such a high clip (3rd in the NBA) and what he brings on defense to help the Knicks off to their surprising start.

yep. Mad credits for that. I was the guy critisizing you for your first ads (that disrupted the video) but I think I'm glad I did :D Now you perfected the art of advertisement. And to be honest....I really watched a grown man shave himself instead of watching my favorite player putting up great moves :D So I guess your ad is working. Mad props for that.

I’ve been a Knicks fan for my whole life, and this is the first time in a while where I actually have hope for this team, if we can get in as a seventh or eighth seed it would be amazing. I’m not saying we would go far, but just to get that playoff experience would be amazing for the young kids on this team

Yup. Been a Knick's fan since 1992 when I was about 6 years old and knew what basketball was. The struggle has been real with this team but it's finally starting to turn around. Watching the games, I haven't heard the garden rocking this loud since Ewing and Starks were Knicks. People are excited. I'M excited. Knick fans are loyal. I've had plenty of opportunities to move on from this team given how trash they've been the last decade but I'm still here and Porzingis is the real deal. Still a little mad about the Cavs game though. We can't be giving up 23 point leads to anyone. Our best quarter has to be the 4th quarter, not the 1st 2nd or 3rd quarter. Ideally we play the same way each half but I saw the change last night going into the 4th. The team was playing slower. A lot more isolation, more forcing the ball to KP who was having a bad night rather than moving the ball and finding the best shot. Poor close outs on shooters. Helping off of Korver who was on fire, leaving him basically wide open off screens. We got a lot of work to do still. We should've won that game and been up 2 games to none over this Cav's team who is still playing atrocious defense in general. Their 4th quarter defense last night was very impressive but beyond that they're still atrocious defensively. Our defense was fantastic in the 1st half, we limited them to below 50 points. They couldn't buy a shot and their offense was almost entirely based off perimeter shots because they didn't wanna mess with Kanter and KP in the paint. We were motivated though. The whole thing with Frank, Kanter and Lebron got the team all jacked up and playing their guts out. Then we started to coast, and you can't coast in this league. Especially not with how prevalent the 3 ball is. 20+ point leads can evaporate in mere minutes. The key to beating this cavs team is to get out and run. That's what you saw in the 1st half. Space & Pace. Ball movement. Make them switch constantly on everything and get them tired. Eventually they start slacking on close outs. Their transition defense is awful, so you gotta take advantage of that and run. They're the oldest team in the league, and you gotta make them work.

I'm a life long Californian but have been a Knicks fan ever since KP joined the team. I liked Kareen, Walton, Bill Russell my favorite basketball player ever, Wilt, Jerry West, Magic. Been a Lakers fan since the Clippers left San Diego but with Shaq and Kobe gone, and my favorite Laker, Pao, it's been a pleasure enjoying KP and now Frank and the 2 guys we got for Carmelo, both great to watch. Thanks for the breakdowns.

Just me personally but I believe the knicks young point guard frank ntilikina has huge potential. Everyone is getting caught up with the flashy highlight reals from dennis smith jr, but frank is more fit for today's NBA. His defense is already elite and his offensive game is pretty decent (he hasn't shown much yet bc he's only playing 19mins a night and taking 5 shots a game but it will come in). Look at his highlights from the french league. This kid was doing pretty amazing stuff at 16 and 17 years old. DO NOT SLEEP ON FRANK NTILIKINA. I'm telling you people will regret it.

Yes Yes, KD is shorter and has a smaller frame than Porzingis. In addition, believe it or not KD spent a ton of time in the weight room to get stronger. Also, KD is way more nimble than Porzingis. The reason being is his muscle is sufficient for his frame. Porzingis' muscle mass isn't sufficient for his frame. He doesn't need to look like Alonzo Mourning but he needs to get slightly more massive. I hear the concerns of everyone about getting too massive, though.

TBH that's good for the Knicks offense (at least when the players are clicking). Having most if not all of the Cav's defense (which is already quite mediocre) focused on the Unicorn gives space for other players to score. The problem was the Knicks and the coach simply didn't plan nor execute a productive way of stopping the Cavs 3 pointers on the 2nd half and keep on scoring. (Especially considering the horrible decisions on the rotations Hornacek made.)

Zhiyu Wang I agree, the second Korver hit his 2nd 3 I was waiting for Lance to be on him and O'Quin to guard LeBron around the permitor

I disagree. It wasn't a coaching adjustment failure, it was (1) an execution failure (both pick and roll and switching the pick- guys did not do what coach wanted) and (2) failure to call illegal screens and traveling off the ball catch (yes, _YOU_ Tony Brothers who failed to make a single correct call in favor of the Knicks the entire night or anytime in the last 22 years).

Phil Jackson is the hero the knicks deserved, but not the one it needs right now. Seriously though batman theme totally fitting with this knicks storyline.

Nice video. Porz only real red flag for me is his rebounding, he is far too gifted to rebound at the rate he does. Like you said, needs to mix it up down there. Coach, did you consider a video on Karl Towns defence? It's getting more and more talk about it being not what it should be, would love to see a breakdown

9 of the Knicks 14 games so far have been at home. Unfortunately for the Knicks, there will be just as many road games as home games before the season ends. Fortunately for the Knicks, 4th thru 8th place is wide open, based on early indications. Every team in the East should aim for Conf. Finals this year... the top 3 teams are an injury away from being as mediocre as the rest.
