James Holzhauer's winnings are really bigger records than his winning streak right now. He broke the $1 Million mark in less than half the time it took Ken Jennings to do it. In the Jeopardy Hall of Fame, he's now in the top 3 of most total earnings of regular Jeopardy. He's also in the top 3 of most total earnings all together in Jeopardy which includes earnings from tournaments... and he hasn't even been in a tournament, yet! And perhaps most popular of all, he has set a new record for the most earnings in a single day on Jeopardy and in that category the top 10 amounts ALL BELONG TO HIM! He's not just dominating the show, he's conquering it! This dude's amazing!

It's Saturday now. Just 2 more days until James returns to Jeopardy (after a two week hiatus during The Teachers Tournament.) I felt like I predicted his amazing reign after watching him on The Chase - a few years ago. Mark Labett and Brooke were also stunned. But rather than being a disappointment for Mark, it appeared to be a mutual admiration society. James' wife ( a player on The Millionaire) ran up to the stage at the end. This never happens on The Chase.

Because of the game show scandals of the 1950's, Jeopardy was born. The original daytime version debuted on NBC January 03, 1964. According to what I heard, a suggestion by Merv Griffin's wife (at the time) to give the contestants the answers would solve the problem of anyone cheating. Unbelieveable that 55 years later it we are still enjoying this amazing show. Happy viewing from Las Vegas NV 02/26/2019

If Jeopardy wanted to get rid of James, I figure the way to do it would be to make the Daily Doubles impossible so that James' score would get knocked way down after one of his characteristically big bets. But they probably won't do that, since the ratings James brings to the game surely more than compensate for the extra $50K they pay out every time James wins.

Brad's won more money, because of his performance in *tournaments*. He won the $100,000 Tournament of Champions in 2001, the Million $ Masters Tournament in 2002, the Ultimate Tournament of Champions (and its $2M top prize) in 2005, the Battle of the Decades (and its $1M top prize in 2014), and not too long ago, the All-Star Games (he split $1M between himself, Larissa Kelly, and David Madden). In all but the first 2, he has beaten Ken Jennings.
