As a black man who grew up in Hudson county NJ (Bayonne), for a large part of my childhood i legit just thought _all_ white people everywhere talked like this. I thought this was the normal white American accent because every white kid, their parents and my teachers all had this accent lmao

When I was in the Navy, a good friend of mine (no pun intended), was in my division. He was Italian, from Philly, and his buddies he grew up with were from Philly and South Jersey. One Sunday he invited me over to watch an Eagles game with him and his buddies (I'm a Giants fan), and throughout the whole game it was "ohhhh", "fuggedaboudit", and "get the f*ck atta heah." One black guy, 15 Italians, and they were some of the coolest cats I ever chilled with. Stand up guys.

My husband was born & raised in Tom's River, laughed his butt off and said about the tailgate guy and the Tony Soprano impersonator that they dressed and sounded like 2 of his uncles. I asked what about Bon Jovi and he says, "he reminds me of one of my cousins". So, SNL nailed NJ guys!

My favorite part. What’s amazing is that whole time he had to remember to mis-pronounce that one word. I would have forgotten. Guess that’s why he’s an actor and I’m not. What upsets me is like only one person in the crowd chuckled.

My grandfather was from Sicily. Taught my grandmother how to make the best spaghetti and meatballs. And salad. According to my grandma, my Grandpa would pour tons of oil on his salad, and after eating the salad he would dip his palms in the oil and rub his hair back with it. Ooohhhhh!

My grandma would always make her own sauce. One day she pulled me aside and told me not to tell my pop pop what she was doing. She had hidden jars of pasta sauce around the kitchen that she would "doctor" up to fool my grandfather. I never said a word. Miss her so much!

Born and raised in NJ and can honestly say that North East Jersey is what is clearly depicted here. Most of the people in NJ don’t act like this at all. It’s still funny as hell though! Bergen County.... Ohhh!
