I was telling a friend about elderly people choking to death on mochi while I was eating some sesame mochi. I no sooner read her the statistics about the choking hazard in elderly people when I tried to swallow a big mouthful of mochi and it would go down my windpipe; she had to do the Heimlich manoeuver because I literally couldn't breathe. Thank heavens she's a retired RN and knew what to do! I also learned to take smaller bites 😂

It was so lovely to see them joking around at lunch. I'm used to the image of the serious Japanese salaryman whose mind is always on his work.

I love their somewhat casual demeanour, yet being wholely serious about their craft :] Towards the end it felt like you guys were just friends hanging out and it's genuinely such a nice fuzzy feeling to see Jun (^^ )

I'm so glad Sakuraco opened the door to this. These candy factory tours are really interesting and it's so cool to see how these things are made from the small scale up to these highly efficient little factories.

it's especially heartwarming to see how fun and welcoming the management team is! that general manager definitely gives off cool dad vibes posing for the camera 😂

The ladies commentating about Jun's height and his seriousness while wrapping the mochi, were too cute!

I love seeing these companies where the multiple generations carry on these traditions with such skill. When I had a box subscription, every food in it tasted so amazing! I feel like I rarely find food made of such good ingredients and with such care here in the United States. It was my favorite time of the month when the box finally came. Honestly it's just such a vibe seeing Rachel and Jun always get so excited when they get to try out all those sweets.

I've always been fascinated and loved edible wrappers as a kid and still do even now. I loved seeing the process of a company who still uses them, this channel is such a gem.

I enjoy these Japanese conversations in which everyone is careful to be respectful and complimentary. Even at the end when they laughed at Jun for pulling the door instead of pushing, or when the one man teased the other about being old and getting sauce on his shirt. I got no sense that they were at all mean-spirited about it. There's always something positive to say. A fine example for others to follow.

I like how the big bosses taking Jun on casual outings and teasing each other at the restaurant

aw it was so cute near the end to see y'all having lunch and sharing each others food, and the tour and them jokingly laughing with you about the push door. anytime i see japanese business men they seem sooooo serious, so its cute to see them act like kids.

This was such a nice tour, the workers were so friendly and welcoming, you were staying at each section for so much longer than needed to just see how things are done, you got a sense of the workplace and the day-to-day. Thanks for the video!

The movement of the people separating the dough is so hypnotic. You can clearly see that they've done it many many many times because their movements are so smooth. It's like watching a kendo expert.

watching these in depth craftsman videos makes me desperately wish i could eat all the food in Hokkaido, Kyoto, and Osaka. you can see so much love put into the food to make it taste good and I just wanna eat what they make and thank them for the good food! This was such a wonderful video. I've always loved these kinds of "how it's made" videos. In Germany, there are children's shows exclusively for that, and I was always glued to the screen. Hokkaido is stunning! And what friendly and fun people you got to hang out with.

14:27 in my country they developed “plastic” bag (that you usually get when you go to convenience store) from cassava. And those bags dissolved only with hot water. Technology is amazing 👍🏻

I adore these tours you've been doing! The making of the snacks is just such a calming and satisfying feeling to watch. Mochi is my favorite Japanese snack especially as part of Daifuku's, and my husband really likes the manju ones. I really like the tableware items from Sakuraco. The flower bowl from 2 months ago is my absolute favorite! It must have been popular, because it's still sold out for buying extra ones. Looking forward to this blue plate.

I hope someday that you do a video on Japanese Gansai paints. You can find a lot about Nihonga online but not much about how Gansai is really different from other styles of solid watercolors. I love these by the way, seeing all the traditional crafts and foods of Japan is one of my favorite things to watch.
