How impressive is Dawn Staley's undefeated title run, is Caitlin Clark the GOAT? | WBB | SPEAK

Спорт

The South Carolina Gamecocks completed its revenge tour with an 87-75 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes. South Carolina's bench outscored Iowa's 37-0 and Dawn Staley became the fifth women's basketball head coach to win at least three championships (Geno Auriemma, Pat Summitt, Kim Mulkey, Tara VanDerveer). Emmanuel Acho, Joy Taylor, LeSean McCoy and James Jones discuss how impressive Staley's undefeated title run is, then debate on whether Caitlin Clark is the GOAT of women's college basketball despite not winning a title.

Fact, she took a team who has never been to final 4, let alone a chance at a title twice in a row is crazy good. In the WNBA, she will be playing against the best women that was in college. Last night SC had a whole new starting 5, not seasoned women like the WNBA. Fact - Caitlin certainly looked like a goat (little letters) when Raven picked her pocket on the lazy dribble and took it to the hoop to end the first half. Dawn said it right - she's ONE OF the GOATS, I can get behind that - but 46% career shooter, 37.1% career 3 point shooter. When you are putting up almost 2800 career shots, you're going to get the points (even with questionable make stats). Shady wants some examples -- Swoopes was 53%/41% (3 pt) over her career. Maya Moore was 53%/40% (3 pt) while going 150-4 in her career at UConn. Plenty of contenders for the title of GOAT -- all with Natty's. We also can't overlook the fact that Clark's efficiency actually dropped in the 23-24 season from 22-23 while taking almost 350 more shots.
