    I consider you a lot more credible than a typical CG KZreadr and Instagram Influencer because of your education in chemistry which many of your followers may not be aware of. There are many confused and misguided viewers out there, I’ve noticed, and I think you do very well with your explanations and demonstrations as you yourself are learning and sharing along the way. I appreciate your contribution to the world of healthy hair 😂 but seriously you are so professional and your natural ability to teach is shining through in these videos and you have so much potential in whatever you choose to do in the future! ☺️

    Right? My hubby does the grocery shopping and couldn't understand why I had put rice on the shopping list. 'Cause we don't Eat rice! LOL! We're following the Keto diet, so all "white" food = bad! Once I finish the bag though, I'm going to try the black rice. I've been assembling the ingredients for fenugreek hair growth oil for the past week and as soon as I get the pure henna I ordered I'll be ready to rock and roll! 😈 So Excited!

    You gotta get sponsored. You are so sweet and knowledgeable and trustworthy. Brands better take notice! ACV rinses scrubbed with fingertips SAVED my scalp, I used to bleed cus I'd get so itchy. No more, and no flakes, it's a miracle.

    @Kitty Girl omg YES. that comment was a while ago, my CGM is undoubtedly different but I stand by what I said. 1 part ACV to 2 parts water, scrub it in your scalp with fingertips for around 10 minutes, and I think I may have washed accordingly.. But I did it again the next day and I had no dandruff. I've done it rarely since then but only because I don't ever have problems with my scalp anymore. 😊

    And Bella M also avoid any products with Methylisothiazolinone and its siblings, known as the "Itchy Ms". They are very irritating to skin and in fact can cause hair loss. I can personally vouch for that as my two girls and I were losing startling amounts of hair both in the shower and on the brush. The As I Am Coconut cowash contains it so I would advise you stay away, and check all ingredients lists for them before you purchase. All the best on your CG journey! 😊 Melissa

Something I'm trying to understand better is what it means to have "healthy hair" and whether adding products to make it more curly is healthy or not? Could you maybe make a video explaining this and also your reasoning for adding products - especially when your hair looks so healthy and great even without them!! It would really help me understand what I'm working towards during transition!

    That is too much apple cider vinegar for the amount of water. The recommended amount is actually 4 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar for 16 ounces of water. That gives a balanced ph. What you put on your hair is way too acidic, and that's why you might have had hair falling off.

    Oh my Goodness, Gurl. I'm about to give away my age, but I used to use ACV as a conditioner back 30 years ago. I diluted it more, approximately in a 1:6 ratio and just used tap water (west TX tap water, YIKES!). Now I'm older and wiser and have stuck one of those clunky water filters just behind my shower head (I'm still in TX after all!) and it has helped tremendously! So I just put some ACV in a big cup and then fill it once I'm in the shower. I don't use it for every wash day though, more like once every few months or so.

    I love love love your videos! I love the way you break everything down so it makes sense. Your videos are what finally pushed me to start the CG method. My one question is, would you make a video explaining humectants and dew points? I recently moved from a very dry place to a VERY humid place. Dew point seems to be always above 70 here and I’m a little confused looking into what exactly humectants are and how to avoid them.

    Same with me. I found out that people shed on average (I think about 100 hairs a day???). So since we wash our hair every few days and also because our hair is textured, the hair we're shedding just gets stuck in with the rest, so it doesn't fall out. Therefore, when you wash your hair and detangle it, all that shedded hair that's built up over a few days just comes out. (Hope i explained it clearly) :)

    Hil. I am new to the CG method. Can you or someone else explain to me why you are using a sulfate shampoo? I thought that was "not allowed". In what ways can using a sulfate shampoo be beneficial?

  • @kaitdorsey6507

    @kaitdorsey6507

    4 жыл бұрын

    hii :) ive been CG for 4 years :) recently i used silicones tho because i had red hair and my red shampoo had silicones in it to keep my color! so basically sulfates dry out your hair, which is good only when you are removing silicones, its great for removing silicones but over time if u use too much it will dry out and lead to breakage, but if that freaks you out, heres how i knew when to stop: so when i decided to go back blonde, i had to bleach:( so i decided to stop using heat and go all natural all over again, which means no silicones, i used a sulfate shampoo to cleanse it until my hair stopped shedding in the shower. basically silicones are like a glue, so when u remove them, the hair u have shedded over time will fall out bc the “glue” isnt holding it to your hair anymore, once youre done detangling in the shower, stop using the sulfates once your hair stops shedding. i hope this helps:)❤️

    Is it ok to use acv after Olaplex 3 treatment, or will it mess with the results?

  • @cathyjones-hatcher

    @cathyjones-hatcher

    8 ай бұрын

    I should think it best to use the OLAPLEX 3 on a different wash day. As a bind treatment...you want it to be absorbed. My fear would be that the ACV would strip it off before any benefit occurs. I wouldn't chance doing these 2 things at the same time.

  • @curlyhair4128
    @curlyhair41285 жыл бұрын

    If acv closes the cuticle, wouldn't you want to condition first so the hair can absorb all the good conditioner things? Then seal it in with the acv?

  • @SwavyCurlyCourtney

    @SwavyCurlyCourtney

    5 жыл бұрын

    You could do it as a final rinse, but conditioner is also a low pH (usually around 3) so it is closing the cuticle as well. I find that the rinse has a tenancy to make my hair a bit dry, do deep conditioning afterwards really helps!

    That is true! It is just trying not to effect the pH of the rinse itself with the minerals in the water. But you are exactly right. This could be made with just tap water and be just as effective!

    if your area has harder water (more minerals in tap water) it would be wise to invest in a shower head filter so the hard water doesn't make the hair pH too basic

    Oh I was kind of being silly when I said that! I have researched ACV rinses pretty throughly and the general interest consensus is that doing them too often isn’t the best idea. But if you or your sweet mom are able to do it without issue then that is wonderful! I personally don’t reach for it too too often.

    Lindsey Steel the only thing I know to tell you is to try it and see! Just keep tabs on your hair and make sure your not pushing it too much. Low pH can change your hairs to low porosity over time which will make it very hard to keep hydrated. Which is cause for concern.
