Hey Afzal, thank you so much for for the information. I was wondering what technical skills you believe would help a candidate differentiate themselves in applying to an asset management position at a top FI? I'm currently learning Python, as well as VBA and R through my quantitative analytics and class, but I don't really know what I should be actively mastering for a role in AM. I have my BMC certification as well, though that feels like more of a prerequisite then anything else, haha.

A business management degree is fine. You'll rarely use your degree unless you're going into a highly technical role (which sales isn't). You're good 👍🏽

Hi Afzal, I’ve got two options and just wanted to get your opinion on it either I can do hsbc asset management degree apprenticeship or jp morgan operations apprenticeship (Bournemouth), do you think that it’s possible to rotate to frotn office position or am I better off just starting at front office but at a lower bank

Opperations is not a good role and you will be stuck there. Less than 10% get out of that role from efinancial careers stats

Hey I’m not Azfal, but I would like to answer First of all your CV is already outstanding. I think you should focus on networking. Especially going to events that companies offer. That’s how I could attain a position in a top tier investment banking boutique.
