Can I get into asset management as a fresher being an international student who is coming to study PG in Finance?

Loved the seamless transition into contemporary art. Twas trying to guess which illiquid asset class it was gonna be and contemporary art didn’t make my list!

AM A1 in the US is paying 110k base, same as IB just without the massive bonus obviously. JPM, GS, MS, UBS, MAM all pay this

45-60k for AN1 sounds mad low. In the US, street standard for BB is $110k

Salaries and bonus suck now. IB is so old school now. In 80's, Wall street era was the gorillas balls, even up until 2000's (Anthon kreil era). Better salaries and hours in PE or tech or even a top prop shop/quant like Jane Street

Acca doesnt do much. Audit helps but I think it will be harder than from consulting, private banking etc. But it is doable.

@@e-cavalier2739 Both are chartered accounting exams right? It will be a little beneficial because of the later modules. If you have what it takes to do ACA you will have better time doing CFA it will be slightly easier there are financial statements thats one chapter which will be easy for you. I was working in big4 audit (EY) and I quit when I realized I would rather do something where I can do CFA because I love it way more. Plan carefully asset managment is competitive and majority of people will go from consulting, IB, Private banking or wealth managment. Network network network join some asset managment seminars and then mention it in a cover letter name drop.
