Please forgive me if you notice the editing blunders 😬 Thank you all for the kind words. The thing that means the most to me is when you tell me something I said was helpful. I have 2 loved ones who did the medication thing. One ended up getting off the meds and is fine now, no thanks to the meds. The other is still on the meds, and still struggling. Different people are different. The meds seem to me to be an easy way out, but they cause their own problems. If you can possibly avoid getting on the meds in the first place, you will be better off for it. Good luck, I really hope your struggles get easier.

Lately I’ve been in a bad headspace with my anxiety and it’s been making everyday life so much more difficult to do. I’ve also been in a strong headspace many times where I’ve done a lot of the things you mentioned to help “shake off” the nervous energy and even pretending a situation is just a dream and that I can do anything. This video was a great reminder to me that I have ways of coping with my anxiety, I just forget sometimes when I’m in a hole ❤️

I’m a 29 year old man, I’ve lost most of my friends at this point. Grown apart from some, drama pushed away the others. Now I live alone in a one bedroom apartment with a job I hate, no hobbies, no friends, and a strange crippling anxiety to do solo trips because I’m not good at planning. I’ve literally been all by myself for the 8 months we’ve been quarantined, but if the quarantine lifted tomorrow, I don’t think my life would be any different. No one checks in on me, I’m lonely as hell, I have no idea how this happened. But Myra’s videos have been a breath of fresh air. Thank you for being so open and honest with your viewers. Thanks for sharing these advice ! As you said in this video, people are not thinking about you or don't really care about you all the time. People move on with their lives. And that fact has helped me a lot when I'm in public, where I think that everyone is watching my every move. Also, I noticed that I'm alrady using some of the tips you gave, such as "dissociating" myself, making a game out of a situation, etc. In a stressful moment for instance, I would pretend that I'm in a game and I would give myself simple tasks to follow. It's so comforting to know that another person use these kinds of strategies, thanks a lot !!

I agree about physically shaking tension off, sometimes it builds up slowly and i don’t realise how stressed I actually am until i take a step back and have to actually force myself to relax. I’ve had anxiety most of my life, it was pretty crippling for the whole of my 20s, but I do find that with effort it gets much better over time. My tip is to see how confident or outgoing people navigate small talk, or other stressful situations and try to copy a little bit of what they do, I find this makes me more confident, and when I am more confident other people are less nervous around me, which then has a snowball effect because I can relax a bit more as well.

So many great ideas! Your insights are really amazing. The idea of removing one’s ‘self’ from uncomfortable situations is so helpful. Often I think of the ideas you’ve shared - to help think ‘why do I have to feel so much anxiety, when I look around there are hundreds and thousands and millions of other people having those same issues - so looking at my little problems - so it’s no big deal.’ I guess it’s a gift to ‘forget ourselves’ or the worst part of ourselves in that way.

You're hitting homeruns in the department of open, vulnerable sharing! It's inspiring and beautiful. It's something, the lack of which has greatly limited me in life. I recently realized this after a year of my dreams not working out for that very reason, until I had a breakthrough. I wrote a short story about the way that sharing takes a "meal" and turns it into a feast for all. Something that your success story is a beautiful example of.

Myra, you are such a gracious, kind, and generous person. I have suffered from Anxiety for all my 48 years of existence. All of find ways to exist in a sometimes unkind world. I tap my fingers often, I teach ten year olds because I can talk with them and have more difficulty with adults (parent -teacher conferences can be difficult but you would be amazed at how many adults suffer from anxiety) and I memorize quotes from people that I tell myself constantly from others who suffered from social anxiety and it helps when I think about how successful they were including Shakespeare, " Present fears are less than horrible imaginings", and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (Who both suffered from anxiety) " If you can't fly then run; if you can't run then walk; if you can't walk than crawl; but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward". That helps me get through tough moments in my life. Thank you for being such an awesome representative of all of us who do not share your amazing courage and talent.

I just wanted to say how much I appreciate what you are doing with these videos. I didn't have to be around a lot of people for a long time and had a very small number of friends, large groups of people tend to make me anxious or panicky. Recently I was best man at a wedding and had to walk the maid of honor down the aisle and back twice. When I saw all of the people I had to look straight forward with tunnel vision and I was ok. Very stressful but I made it through. The maid of honor understood how freaked out I was and was a very calming presence, which helped a lot. We all have tricks to help keep us from getting freaked out and we all appreciate you sharing yours.

Your equivalent to all your peers, and everyone else. You are just as talented, gifted, and special! No one is above you. Ignore feelings of awkwardness, it’s only personified in your mind because you haven’t had a lot of people time interactions, not because you really are awkward. Remember when you first learn to ride a bike it’s with training wheels, but the more you keep at it, the better it gets and the training wheels come off, it’s exactly the same. So keep pushing yourself to communicate and make friends, be the aggressor it’s ok. You are the friend that someone is just waiting for ❤️ God bless you!

At 8:36 about social anxiety reminds me of growing up I was raised in a deep religious faith. That I tried my best to be perfect. Best I can be for God, my Church, to all man kind. I ended up with a stuttering problem. It wasn't until I was in the Military, and my Drill Sergeants called me to be the Platoon Guide. It was a lot of pressure on me to be perfect and not mess it up... but I messed up so badly.. After I unsuccessfully released my platoon from formation my Drill Sergeant called me off to the side. And he said told me to relax, festering me to be comfortable he asked me by saying my last name. "Free, what is your problem?" And I stutter out.. "I- I - I, do-do-don't-t, know..." His reply blue my mind he said "You know what I think your problem is... your trying to be perfect. Stop. Just stop. You are no different from me, we wear the same uniform. And we put it on one sleeve at a time. No one is perfect." 🤯 Hearing that helped lots with my stuttering, I only stutter when I am on the phone with someone new, or if I am on a radio transmission.

Thank you for such great advice! My anxiety has to do with overthinking/ fearing the future and it's awful. Doing something physical does help to shake off the feeling though! I just remind myself that it's going to be OK and to be content in the uncertainty. "I don't know what lies around the bend, but I'm going to believe that the best does." L.M. Montgomery

I dont even know where to start. I have always had anxiety but 4 months ago I had a stroke so I had to move to my brothers house . My brother works in radio and knows EVERYDODY and of course has perfect speach but because of my stroke I sometimes slur and It terrifies me to think people cant understand me it's even starting to almost cause depression, but seeing your video, and listening to the things you say realy encourages me so thank you so much! You must know though that when people look at you they are just attracted to your inner beauty flowing outward

Thank you so much Myra! I will definitely try this. I’ve also been using my breathing techniques and have been dealing with things a lot better. I still have a long way to go. Nowadays things around us are tough enough to deal with. Life has not been easy for any of us I think . The anxiety for a lot of people has been up I know . You are so inspirational to a lot of us. Thank you for sharing this with us . I haven’t seen a video in a little while . Looks like your doing ok. Take care of you Myra. No secret word today ? I miss those😁😁😁

Hi Myra. I love your content. Discovered you from your 21 years old without a friend video. We have a lot in common. Lucky you are that you're discovering about yourself and the world at this young age, whereas I am above 30 and discovering myself now. Keep up your good work. You're a quite eloquent speaker.

I have been watching your videos for a while now and anxiety is mostly a spiritual problem. People think it is solved with drugs, it actually is solved with proper eating habits and eliminating what is causing this anxiety. When I first moved to this small town in western Colorado I met and fell in love with someone exactly like you are. Old fashioned, good morals, a kind soft spoken person, and she was raised old fashioned by a farm family which is what any man would love. After time however she did not want a long term future with me and she told me I would not like her once I found out how she really was. I still remember the taste of her salty tears as they rolled down her face as she kissed me for the last time. She wanted a large farm, she wanted lots of animals, but like many women she was afraid of having a child and I understand that. I could never give her a farm, or even have a place for lots of animals or that type of lifestyle since me having being married and having most of my material things gone through a divorce years earlier I could not give her what she wanted. I never cheated on anyone, I have never cheated on anyone, but sometimes you just have to get out of a relationship if the person you are with cheats on you. What happens if you are a man, the more time that lapses the less feelings your partner has for you as time progresses because the other man works on her to convince her to do this or that to you. Sometimes you just have to cut your losses quickly and move on. Sometimes you never find anyone ever again, I would just want you to know you are complete just the way you are and you do not need a man to complete your life. You should just concentrate on being the good person you are and let GOD naturally bring someone into your life. Humans are driven by passion at times because it feels good at the time, this can be both a blessing and a curse at times. I used to think losing my first wife Jennifer was the worst thing that ever happened to me, at the time it was, I thought I was going to be pretty much set for life at 45. Later after I lost Jennifer I met Lisa, now Lisa was the one I really fell in love with, but Lisa was very toxic for me and probably was the worst thing that ever happened to me, far worse than the divorce. At least Jennifer and I still to this day are better friends than when we were married because we can relate to failing in some relationship. Jennifer recently told me "I think I ended up with the wrong man" , and years earlier the one she left me for left her and she told me" I guess I'm finally getting mine". I just hugged her and told her I would never wish anyone to feel the pain a divorce, failed marriage, or failed relation has on a person. Reflection can sometimes be a good thing, because it just shows you can learn from where you have been in life. You just can't dwell to long on reflecting on the past, it sort of is like driving a car looking in the rear view mirror. You can do it sure, for a while, but if you constantly do it you eventually crash into something. I like you so I am going to help you, get some liquid iodine that is water soluble and every now and then take a small spoon full of food grade activated charcoal. This will eliminate toxins in your body from all the bad food and the soluble iodine will help your anxiety. You do not have to take it all the time, all things in moderation. As far as your meeting someone you need to find someone who has faith in GOD and has strong morals, not religion but a person who has a relationship with the creator and adheres to those values. You have to also pray and be thankful at all times for all things. You should be happy you get to do what you're doing because that all is about to come to a halt just like your little adventure to Portland. Just be careful, as the economy continues to crash things are going to get real ugly real quick. Just make sure life does not make you afraid because it is what we will do during these tribulations that will define us and what we stood for and who we are as people. You're a good person so just continue to be that light in life and you will always do just fine. I would not worry to much about not having tons of friends because you need good friends, not everything good is good for you. You take care Miss Myra. MJ from western Colorado.

Hey that is so right! Not to sound like I have schizophrenia, but I talk to myself in my head in an attempt to reason with my anxious inner self and have a better outcome with my physical self... If the mind is good it transcends that state of euphoria to the body making you feel good

Hi, just listening to your "friends" video. There may be many reasons that you struggle with friendships, but none of them are down to you or any fault that you have. It's almost like being programmed, like the saying "Give me the boy until he's seven and I will give you the man." These are the formative years and pretty much give us the blueprint for our lives. The good news is that you can re-programme these negative patterns through affirmations and visualisation. Self hypnosis is also a pretty powerful tool for change in this direction.. But in some ways, are these so called friends actually all they're cracked up to be ? I frequently find myself coming to the conclusion that "hell is other people"... But at the end of the day, there is a very wise saying, that is completely true and that is "What you are searching for is already within you"... You're beautiful, make sure you have a beautiful mind too and people will be drawn to you. I'd be your friend but wrong side of the pond :)

When I was very young (not grandfather) I was thinking the same way sometimes, no one thinks of me, everyone takes care of their problems etc... And one day among a billion people who have gone through my life, I have stumbled upon a person who thinks like me and thinks deeply considering not only himself but others around him... However, thinking that everyone thinks only of themselves, I passed by that person and lost sight of him... And so I missed the chance to meet someone of my dreams...
