How I Create My Eerie Music Using Everyday Things | Mysterious Sounds for Ambient Music

Someone asked me what the eerie sounds in my ambient music really is. Well. The truth is not so cool as it sounds in the songs. When I create my sound elements I use very simple things. Things like cloth, hair mousse, wooden spoons and my own voice. I like sounds that are a bit hard to identify and now I will tell you the secret. It is very simple and you can do it yourself. I like mysterious sounds and vocals that seem to come from a distance. I like the music to sound a bit unreal, like in a dream or in a fairytale.
I have been practicing a lot on making weird noises and animal sounds with my voice. I like to howl like a wolf and call like a raven. Other sounds I record in nature and then I edit them to fit my style. But some sounds are totally made by complete other things than what you would expect. In this video I show you how I use things in my home to create the sound elements that you hear in my music.

I record it with a zoom f1 microphone. Then I put the file in garageband and just fix the reverb a little. 😀💕
What are the sound filters you use?

It is super simple if you want to try! Only two things. First take away a little microphone noise. Not much! Then just pitch up the reverb a little. A sad thing is that whatever microphone you use the echo will sound flat. So just a little more reverb and there you have it! 😀
