at around 8:00 his first season with more then 10 wins and 30+ homeruns was in the 2022 season not 2021. in 2021 he had 9 wins as a pitcher. so for your next video please double check player's stats.

Being Japanese helped because here we make a guy pick one or the other. Guys like Freddie freeman were pitchers growing up but mlb picks which he would succeed at and tries him only there. Few instances where there were converter from field to batter or vice versa. Kenley from catcher to pitcher and ankiel from pitcher to hitter. Are just a few changed sides.

Even now that the league is opening up to the 2-way players, I doubt we’ll see anybody like Ohtani in the next decades. He is just a different breed.

I think he makes it in just for 21-23. While certainly not the craziest stretch for pitching or hitting, it is lilely the greatest all around three year performance in baseball history. 28.6 bwar in a 3 year span is crazy. The records he has broken and set, the insane feats he has accomplished. Its one of the few short years that entirely deserves recognition in the hall of fame.

Great video! I will say, the moving paper background is extremely distracting, so hopefully you can find another easily.

What amazes me most about Ohtani is he makes you think nothing in pro baseball is impossible......and I'm not just talking about being an All-Star caliber hitter AND pitcher. For instance, in 2022 he was giving opposing hitters fits and racking up strikeouts with a devastating slider and nasty splitter. So you expect in 2023 he would improve on those pitches right? Wrong. Instead he moved away from using those two pitches and started throwing insane sinkers and crazy sweepers. I mean what other pitcher does this? And to top it off......all his pitches are B+ grade or higher. I don't think he has any sub-quality pitches in his repertoire.

Without watching the video, I know the answer is already “Yes.” Reason is because most people who may think “no” are seeing it through a subjective lens and asking if Ohtani is “worth it” to THEM. Bottom line: YES he's worth it to the LA Dodgers. Their corporate retail analysts already ran the numbers. Even if they don't win a championship as long as Ohtani is active the total revenue Ohtani brings in with merchandise sales alone (we're talking GLOBAL sales) will pay for the $700M itself in a short time. That's not even including ticket sales and every other type of lucrative partnerships Ohtani's gravity pulls in. Shohei Ohtani's true "value" is really in Billion range when it's all said and done and the receipts are tallied. So yeah, Dodgers can afford him.

You know there were a lot of incredible pitchers that had to give it up because they were offensive power houses Ill bet we missed out on at least one other Ohtani because that's baseball today and has been for nearly a century But if you can only pitch for like 4-5 seasons, unless You're Pedro from the turn of the century, is it really worth it?

The contract is INSANE. not the 700 million dollars, but the deferment. Basically a team is saying they're willing to have a guaranteed, worst contract in professional sports ($68 million a year) for 10 years, in 10 years. They are willing to have this contract around their necks for 10 years. It's like if the Dodgers signed a superstar with a normal contract of $680 million over 10 years, and before he plays an inning, he got into a freak accident where he became blind. But this is the first time where any team has signed a contract that guarantees such a scenario to happen. The benefit for the Dodgers is to completely render any salary cap rule effectively meaningless for 10 years. The MLB should have never allowed this type of contract, there should be no deferment to begin with.

that Giants logo you have, is for the New York Football Giants, not the San Francisco Baseball Giants.

Liked the first 1/2 of the video better. For the latter 1/2, the graphics are nice but afterawhile feels like a fancy power point where the presenter just read off their slides.
