A lot of gaps in this rapid run through Ohtani's history. It deals more with his time in Japan and skips showing him lead Team Japan in the WBC last year, an accomplishment he obviously loved. How good is he? World-class, once in a lifetime, a supreme talent who already deserves his own room in the Hall of Fame.

From Hank's "I Had A Hammer": Of the ten National League batting leaders of the sixties, seven were black or Latin. Of the ten National League home run leaders of the sixties, ten were black or Latin. A white player did not even finish second in home runs during the 1960s. Totaling the top five places each year in each category, thirty-seven of fifty batting leaders and forty-one of fifty home run leaders were black or Latin-giving a staggering 78 percent domination to the groups in the distinct minority. *** What would the National League have been like in my time without black players? Who would have been the greatest home run hitters if I had not been in the league, or Mays or Banks or Frank Robinson or Willie McCovey or Orlando Cepeda or Willie Stargell or Billy Williams or Richie Allen? I'll tell you. The white player who hit the most home runs in the National League in the 1960s was Ron Santo, who was almost fifty ahead of the next white player, Eddie Mathews. With no black players in the game, Ron Santo-who is not in the Hall of Fame-would have stood well above all the other home run hitters in the league during his time. Lastly, perhaps cut plumbers and mailmen some slack. I mean, one can peruse my one LA Rams game program from way back in the day and learn that in the 70s pretty much the entire starting offensive line sold insurance in the off-season. A man has to support his family and when the game doesn't pay enough... Almost forgot, but re the rings thing, if the idiots follow that to its logical conclusion, then Trent Dilfer, Jeff Hostetler and Nick Foles were all better than Dan Marino since they all won a ring while Dan did not.

The Hanshin Tigers, the professional team that plays at Koshien stadium, are forced to leave and play elsewhere for the high school tournament. There's nothing like it anywhere in the world. Also, his name is Roki Sasaki, not Rory.

13:32 No serious baseball analyst ever compares the number of rings of a pre-expansion player (Babe Ruth) to one in the modern era (Ohtani). Before 1961, there were only 8 teams in the AL and 8 teams in the NL for a total of 16 teams, with the exception of 1915 with the Federal League lawsuit. Today, there are 30 teams in baseball. There's a reason why all the record ring holders played before 1961, e.g. Yogi, Ruth, DiMaggio, Gehrig, etc. Due to the smaller pool, it's not uncommon for teams to win 3 or more WS titles within a span of 5 years before 1961. Philadelphia Athletics, Red Sox, Yankees, Cardinals, and Dodgers all did it. Yankees did it multiple times. Cubs won a back to back WS. So did the NY Giants. NY Giants, Brooklyn Dodgers, and Tigers all have 3 losing WS appearances within a 5 year span also. In the modern era, it is very rare to win 3 titles in a span of 5 years. Athletics did it in the 1970s. Yankees in the late 90s with their super team (they won 4, 3 of which were consecutive). And SF Giants in the 2010s (non-consecutive). That's it. That's the list.

😂So after you made this VTR, you still don't know how good he is. Ohtani was leading most hitting stat including OPS, HR, 2B, hitting avg, Slugging, hits, total base hits before he a pick-off throw was purposely hit his hamstring and an injury lasts for almost 10 days. Even the injury affected his batting form & batting avg, Ohtani still leads NL league OPS, hit, and batting avg. Ohtani's batting power is almost recovered and later he would be more productive like before his injury. Ohtani has proved to Dodgers fans and MLB and the world that he worths every single penny of the 700m contract even his pitching hasn't started till 2025 as scheduled. Besides, you truly knew NOTHING about Ohtani's crazy economic powers and true marketing influences to his teams and the LA city and related businesses from millions of Japanese people and Ohtani fans in the world. Since April '24 there were 11 Japanese or Japan related coop signed several yrs sponsor contracts with Dodgers, all new sponsors were attracted by Ohtani. And more contracts are still coming in almost every week so far. With those JP ad contracts in stadium alone, Dodgers would probably earned 1 billion in 2 yrs. Besides Ohtani's good/jerseys(best sold in MLB), ticket sales, raise in ticket, price, and crazy sales of new foods in Dodgers stadium, even many opponent stadiums are also packed with Dodgers & Ohtani fans (though most incomes are distributed between 30 teams but the Dodgers sponsor contracts would only benefit Dodgers alone). Even during Korean series, the economy of close by shops and the town near the stadium was all boosted in Korea because most audience wanted to see Ohtani who was the biggest star in the series, not the Korean stars. A famous JP professor projected Ohtani's economic influence in the 1st yr of his joining Dodgers is around 600 million (by Ohtani alone, not along with any other Dodgers teammates). 😊

Babe Ruth is objectively overrated if you adjust for all of the changes, it being a white league, playing against basically mechanics and grocery store clerks while having the advantage of being paid enough to focus solely on baseball. He doesn't even break top 200 of all time, all things considered. You're stating stats and figures with zero analysis which renders your comments irrelevant.

He was top five in wins above replacement as a hitter alone, and that was just with 5 months played out of six. He was near the top in home runs, runs bad in, batting average, on base plus slugging percentage. I don't know what other metric you want for a top hitter. This year he's top five in the league in many of those same categories. He seems to favor on base plus slugging percentage and pure on base percentage as his top categories. The guy can flat out hit
