I wish they wouldn't keep us in the dark on edmans injury status. Havent heard a peep about him all season.

Edman and Contreras with Noot all back 100% after the break.. adding a starter and two more legit high leverage relievers with the addition of a healthy Matz and Gio will prolly be their moves that they will believe to get the into a wild card against the Brewers

They are the definition of middle of the pack. Better than most teams I’d say but not good enough to compete with the top dogs like Philly, LA, Atlanta, etc. The lineup has a lot of potential when healthy but they are never healthy and are very inconsistent.

Again, what happened to Walker is what has been happening to Carlson for years now. MLB pitchers adjust and game plan and the hitter doesn't adjust(i.e get better).

Ya think St. Louis is ruining these players because they'd probably do well in certain places like Milwaukee or Chicago?

@@timmangan6681 I think the bigger issue is the grading of talent/skill and projection. This team has proven time and time again that it can't get out of its own way in this department. It needs a complete overhaul.

According to Baseball Reference Cards best case scenario is 82-80. I don't really see them hitting that benchmark and that's if they manage to keep up this current pace.

Listen... I get the fanbase doesn't want to hear it, and he is buddies with Arenado, so trading him isn't an option (from a team chemistry standpoint). But Nootbaar is the next Tyler O'Neil. I'm not going to apologize for this either. Nootbaar can not stay healthy. However, EVERYONE and their grandmother seem to think the world of him. So, unlike the laat batch of guys (like ToN, Carlson, etc.), how about we actually capitalize on his stock still being high? Also, we keep hearing about Winn's back flairing up... Is anyone else worried about 3/4 of our IF (Arenado, Gorman, and Winn) all having lingering back issues? That sounds like an IF that is just one severe injury away from imploding at the worst possible time. Not to mention that we are seeing a LOOOOOOOOOT of E's happening at a concerning level.

They are what they were constructed to be ... good enough to squeeze into the post season and maybe catch fire. Get lucky and win a series... *sucks loyalty wise. But really the best thing for the team would be to trade Arenado and put Gorman at 3rd ... Donovan/Edman at 2nd ... keep Siani in CF until Scott is ready ... if Goldy plays ok the rest of the year, and will take less money nxt yr. Then resign him a year at a time. If not, move one and replace him w Burelson ... take the money and sign pitching. Fried would be nice.

Outside of Burly, outfield is a mess and has been for several yrs. Time for the team to fix this! Mo needs to find some high leverage hitters!!!! Need more quality bullpen, current outfield is not even average. Why is Carlson still on the team???? But bottom line, this team is still not good. Dont want to hear anyone talk about "maybe they can be good enough to be a wildcard team. We have heard that crap the last several yrs. Cards used to be about building championships teams...not any more.

The outfield hitting .207 thats a damn shame, and this guy wants to blame the Dylan and Walker, what does it take to realize the cardinal why of development is garbage, and they have effectively screwed up Walker I will be happy if they traded Walker so he can develop and flourish in another organization, the same with Dylan your whole Outfield as a collective is hitting 207 and you're trying to say this is not an organizational failure stop it

I just want to see them lose a game and the excuse be something like “Crawford was 2 for 2 with a home run, we were trying to get Winn a rest day, so we let him hit.” Instead, we are tripping over ourselves with analytics and making contradictory decisions. I want to see some actual player management, not this robotic analytic crap they are putting on the field. This org is infested with businessmen…there isn’t a ball-player anywhere in sight within management/coaching

Also- ya, the “all the outfielders that got away” (if any really) is annoying, but it also says a lot that over the last 5 years the Cards haven’t been able to put a decent outfielder out there…for the Cards or anyone else. Absolutely no one coming through the Cards org in the outfield is usable…so what’s going on?
