"I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners-of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen." ~Apostle Paul (1 Timothy 1:12-17)

I remember seeing this when I became a christian 4 years ago. I thought it was very brave and courageous of David to film in public. I could never do that, I thought. But now - after knowing the Lord better and seeing how he has kept me in him and also delivered me from holes of deception, I truly now can say; I 2 will be able to testify about my salvation in public in the same way.

The long one shot of all this - all in one take - is pretty impressive. He clearly has put in some effort in memorising all his lines. That's pretty amazing. The anecdotal content, the apologetics and musings of his road to belief - quite the ordinary Christian talking points. Convincing for those who are marginally believing who are "looking for some cosmic meaning or god". Not at all convincing to anyone who's skeptical and critically questioning what is told, read. Not effective for those who'd rather have scientific notions about our world, not simply trust the words of some self professed lords, prophets and now - a street preacher with a camera.

@@louisesrensen5529 Jesus has God. Do you know? Jesus never told people to worship him instead of God because worship is for God alone which is the main teaching of Messiah. After Jesus, Gospel was written in hebrew & greek by mark, Matthew, john, Luke and they added many word from their own. For example, Jesus adressed his God as aramaic word " Rabb" meaning Lord which was written in hebrew " Aabb" meaning Father. Jesus said him " word of God" which is true. In the begginning of Gospel, John distorted the true meaning of " word of God" and gave his own explanation. "Word of God" is title of Messiah & it is not relating to the God's everlasting uncreated unchanged entity. Whereas Gospel writter John introduced the idea of existing 2 god[...... Word with (first) God, Word is( second) God ] in the begginning of Gospel without understanding the meaning of word of God. Jesus spoke on aramaic where God name is Alaha which is similar to arabic Allah. Arabs inherited the name of God " Allah " since the period of Prophet Abraham & his son Ismael ( peace be upon on them). Early zews distorted the holy name of God & made it plural form " elohim ". Then they borrowed wargod name Yahweh from surrounding pagans.

You do not have the assurance of salvation. We can all wish that that were true, and certain Protestants do wish it so hard they gamble their eternal souls on it, but it is not true. What you have done is decide what you want to have be true at the outset, and then (mis)interpret Scripture to make it seem to support your 'druthers. The truth, though, is that salvation can be lost.

David’s is an amazing story, based on the thoughts that this man thought, and a labyrinth of false choices he made - that preceded his conversion. If you're able to find some beauty, some stance of greater qualities in this world, if belief in a God and a great human potential transforms you and the quality of the life you have, you will begin to believe in greater things. Philosophers for 5000 years have postured and wondered at ways to prove Gods existence by the pretentious wording you label. You will never be able to definitively prove Gods existence by analogies, complex arguments or empirical evidence. You can only prove the existence of God to yourself, with words, the way you live, as the prophets once said (the best philosophers), you must take that step of belief, belief in greater morality, in greater good, in greater potential, in greater beings, in a great God and watch your lifs transform around you. To better understand, man is the master of his own mind, not outside events, realise that and hopefully with God you will find strength. Atheists commonly share the same thoughts of logic as the average theist does, infallibilism is unaccounted, atheism and theist bodies are conttol organisations, which they have been demonstrated by history, that the world is full of pain and suffering and thus there is no meaning or creator. Maybe so, but the knowledge my friend, that some light in this world exists amongst the darkness, once a believers life is lived by an atheist, rarely would he venture back into full blown atheism. Afterall atheism is a way of life, as theism, its a religion, it holds a certain spirit and attitude to the world based upon personal experiences. However both are looking for some quality of good in this world, some greater superior form of comprehension of the world and what is good to do, to believe and love in the world. If belief offers you a better world, then who can tell you in humbleness that God does not exist, and that good things do not occur because of belief in him. Ultimately if you think all that is bullshit, become a holy man, become a lover, for family, others, for the world. Life will change in good ways.

@@scottgodlewski306 I was once an Atheist, and believed Jesus was a mere philosopher. Maybe I am correct. But I eventually realised, why not believe? Why not bow to a creator of all things if he exists or not to my knowledge. Its a better world to believe in, and to transform the love and ethos of the scriptures, of enlightened individuals to reality, we must first believe in fairy tales to build a better reality. After good had accumulated in my life, and watching its course for others who are better and worse off then me, belief in the creator doesn't seem so foolish as life co-evolves, in all of its complexities and misunderstandings. Who am I, to say I know? A mere thing in a vast ocean of spacetime. So why not believe? Superior doctrines of life always dominate inferior but required doctrines to evolve. Good will always overcome evil. Even in wars, their testament millennia after are lessons to us all. Belief must come to build an enlightened, better world. Though a utopia is so called impossible, you have one life, so ehy not fight to build a utopia in your own life, and the lives of those around you.

One of my favorite testimonies. I did this on a bus in Portland. 5 minutes. They listened very politely & the bus driver stopped the bus for the testimony. It was nerve-wracking but the Holy Spirit stayed with me throughout. And then, once done, I walked off the bus & it moved on its way. Some passengers slowly waved at me with smiles through the windows. You CAN witness. With WISDOM. With timing given only by the Holy Spirit when you are willing. And just tell them what happened to you. Judgment is already determined & the Holy Spirit will do that for you. Mercy & grace to you all.

They are welcoming and not likely to greet you with a "f**k you" or say "b**ch" when you hold the door open for them smile in their direction. I guarantee there is a person you know or work with that never swears and is extremely kind. You won't find that in most atheists. Try delivery. I really thought I was like him but never came close to so much of that. It might mimic psychopathy but unlike a psychopath you just simply don't understand, when you do you instantly stop. I'm just grateful that I was in Christian school almost the entire time; I took it way more seriously than most. I acted out, I was different, but I was always seeking God and God held me just above the flames enough for them to lick me at the worst. I will never stop seeking God, no matter how ridiculous it may seem or how I don't date or get girlfriends or 'live' right or interact with people, because the only one I've ever sought is God and I SEE HIM in others and the universe. When I got my plan finished in my mind, I remembered thinking, I’ll go to prison for the rest of my life but I’ll give my life to God and a light shined through the crack in the window so bright it scared me. I thought I’ll lay down and go to sleep to get away from the fear but was still determined to carry through with my plan. I had a dream that I went to Heaven and everyone was so loving, nobody Judged me but I Judged myself and knew I shouldn’t be there because I wasn’t a good person. There was a long table full of all kinds of food and they invited me to eat everyone talked with the mind not with their mouths . When I woke up I realized if there was a Heaven there’s a Hell and I said what you said, God if you can do anything with me I give you my life. All desires for cigarettes, alcohol and drugs was gone and I had a desire to read the Bible. I exchanged my gun for a Bible with my Mom and my life has never been the same. I’ve had so many experiences with God through out the years nobody could ever convince me He’s not real! Just this last Easter I had a dream about the rapture or catching away it talks about in the Bible and I took off in the sky like a bullet. God is real and He’s word is real! Heaven is real and so is Hell. I also believe I experienced hell in my 20’s, I felt what people feel, I remember thinking why didn’t anyone tell me! Why didn’t they warn me, I believe that’s how people feel that are there. It was a horrifying experience I went through mentally for about a month thought I was losing my mind my God pulled me out, I was going through a time of hating someone and I would not let it go so I think God let me feel that.

6 years since I first saw this video, I really am thankful for how this video has changed my life. I was an ignorant, horrible person who does not deserve an ounce of mercy from people. I was alone, trapped in my own thoughts, and did terrible things that I do not wish to repeat here. I had nowhere to go. I am thankful that I found Jesus for he is the one who can save me; I am thankful to have served the Lord in preaching, volunteering and just being there for people despite the insurmountable slip-ups I have made. I am thankful to God for all the guidance and wisdom he has given me and for showing me the truth, that is Christ our Lord. Coming back to this video every now and then has made me realize that you never stop growing in faith and you're always going to have growths and drawbacks and we're all sinners. Most importantly, no matter how awful of a person you were or are, Christ will never deny you eternal salvation, because he loves you.

Truth is: you were saved since you existed. That's how powerful the love of God is towards us. You didn't even have to breath to be saved. It's done. We are saved.

It is such a searing, brutally honest, fantastic description of someone who was an inch away from being the next mass murderer, school shooter, suicide bomber, etc. Someone who gave God a single chance coming from such a horrific background, not withholding any sin he committed or downplaying it for a second. If God can get to someone like this and turn them into a champion of the faith as David is now, there is no excuse for any of us to not choose, or stay committed to Christ. Legendary video.

Thank you for this video brother. I was a prideful idiot. A "new atheist." I never really cared about really considering Christ. I've watched your testimony 3 times, and the first time, my arrogance and pride got humbled. The second time I found it true and this third time tear of joy stream down my face. I will follow Christ's love now. I'm in RCIA and will be baptized and I can't wait for that blessed day. God bless you! CHRIST IS KING! 🎉

When I saw this video for the first time a year ago, it was shortly after God revealed to me that he wanted me to stop my favorite hobby. I didn’t want to. But hearing your powerful testimony reminded me that my little hobby was nothing compared to the reality of existence and spiritual conflict. After cutting out that hobby, I came to realize that it wasn’t the hobby that was the problem, but rather my unhealthy view of relationships within that particular friend group. This realization resulted in a lot of personal growth and God gave me a new group of friends that share the same interests. Now, I can participate in similar activities with these new people, but in much healthier ways. God is now the most important person in my life. The small sacrifice of putting him first did not remove my joy in life but instead opened the door for me to experience more joy than I ever thought possible. So much has changed in the past year. I went from the rock bottom to now in a better place than I have ever been before in my life. I have an ever-growing devotion to studying scripture and praising my King everlasting. My joy is not tied to one hobby, or to a couple of fair weather friends, but to the eternal certainty and love of the one who created the universe.

I was an atheist. I reached the same, ultimate conclusion. I didn't have the urge to kill, but did other horrendous things thinking exactly the same way as you. Even though I was forgiven by everyone involved, I could not forgive myself for over a decade. I was a living contradiction. If nothing really mattered and I was convinced of it, why was my consciousness torturing me. I always shrugged it off as "vestiges of my Neanderthal ancestors," but try as I might, my consciousness kept on hammering me until I stumbled upon Jesus. It's been three years now. I'm not perfect, and I'm still researching everything, but everything has changed. I don't feel this overwhelming guilt anymore.

Fantastic testimony! I was once an atheist in total rebellion against God. But even though I was running away from God as fast as I could, God's grace came to me in a personal way. “I was found by those who did not seek me; I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me.” Isaiah 65:1 It is God's grace that has saved me from hell.

DO atheists go to Hell? That seems extreme. Atheism is just a lack of belief, at least in most cases. I would think it's quite cruel to send someone who isn't convinced of your existence to eternal torture. I don't think most people understand the gravity of Hell and Heaven. Eternity is ... quite a long time.

  • @jettoth3

    @jettoth3

@@parallax256 By "cruel", I'm guessing that you mean "unjust". Is God unjust to send to hell those who deny His existence? If so, what is your standard for justice? @@jettoth3 Any system of justice, especially a divine one, should be very simple: if you do more bad than good, you deserve to be punished. If you do more good than bad, you do not. Simple. If someone denies God's existence, how exactly is that bad? They're not trying to rebel against God, they just don't believe there is one. What's wrong with that? Is God sending people to a place of eternal torment because of their beliefs? What about Muslims? Do they go to Hell in the eyes of Christians? And vice versa? It's perfectly reasonable to be an atheist. Subjectivity is a tricky topic, especially when so many aren't ready to talk about something that might conflict with their faith.

@@parallax256 OK, I'll try to simplify it further: The Creator has made Himself known both via the creation and by His written word. There won't be any excuse for those who tell God that He should have made His existence more evident. The real reason why people don't want to acknowledge His existence is because of our pride. As an atheist, I viewed the God of the bible as a threat to my freedom to do as I pleased. Your theology isn't simpler; it's vastly more complicated than mine. Why? Because it's based upon your own subjective opinions, such as, 1. If you do more bad than good, you deserve to be punished. 2. They're not trying to rebel against God, they just don't believe there is one. 3. It's perfectly reasonable to be an atheist. When I was an atheist, I would have totally agreed with all of these assumptions. Now, I'll try to answer your questions. 1. If someone denies God's existence, how exactly is that bad? It is bad to deny reality. I can provide hundreds of examples of the harm done when people deny reality because they find reality inconvenient in some way. Besides, how can it be possible to have a cogent worldview without beginning with the God of the bible? 2. Is God sending people to a place of eternal torment because of their beliefs? Yes, but not primarily because of their beliefs. The purpose of hell is to punish sins. Pretending that God doesn't exist is a sin, but unfortunately it is not the primary cause of condemnation. It is pride and the love of sin that separates human beings from God the most. 3. What about Muslims? Do they go to Hell in the eyes of Christians? It isn't what Christians say that matters; it's what God says that should matter to us. God describes Himself as "a jealous God". He won't tolerate the worship of any false gods, and this includes Allah.

@@jettoth3 1. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't deny the existence of a god out of pride. I deny it simply out of lack of proof. 2. You can't state that your beliefs * are * reality. That's not how debates work. That's also kind of condescending. I can provide hundreds of examples of harm done in the name of religion. As well, when people deny a reality they find inconvenient, they usually know (in some way) that it's true but keep up the * pretense * of disbelief. * This is not the case with atheists *. Atheists are almost always indifferent. They're not in denial of something they know is true. It's not because of pride. It's simply because they were never indoctrinated and view religion in a neutral, objective, and detached manner, which leads to a viewpoint based solely on facts. Not to say that religion is totally unreasonable. I would love to know there's a god. I really would. I wouldn't have any qualms about that. No pride involved. It would really, really comfort me to know that there's an existence beyond the life I'm living now. That my mind won't decay into dust with my body and I won't exist after that. But there's * just no proof *. 3. "How is it possible for people to have a cohesive worldview without God or the Bible?" That is an entirely separate, but not altogether unrelated, discussion. I don't see what the Bible explains that science can't. The only thing I can think of would be the origins of the universe, but that's a serious fundamental question, and people like me aren't even entirely sure if that's something that can be considered scientific to discuss, in its rigorousness. Please expand this part of the discussion in your next reply. I'd love to talk about it. 4. "Pretending that God doesn't exist is a sin." You're failing to understand the nature of subjectivity. This is * your viewpoint * and saying outright that the existence of God is an infallible truth is just ... not good for debates. I still don't see why that would be a sin. Seriously, if I was a god, and I created the universe, including every galaxy cluster, and I picked a planet that had formed with the right conditions for life, and I seeded that planet with rudimentary microbes to watch them evolve, and, four billion years later, I gifted their descendants with extraordinary intelligence, and watched them go through the Renaissance and the Enlightenment, with gradually more and more scientific explanations that needed no supernatural aids for their cause, I would be * proud * that they managed to do that. I would be proud. "Wow, look at that! They're discovering and solving the mysteries of the universe!" 5. Dude, what are you talking about? Allah and God are the * same god. * Muslims just have slightly different beliefs about the rules and about the nature of God. Overall, religion is beyond rational argument. But it's still fun to debate anyways.

So that adds up to not following God’s plan going away from him. But then when he started following God’s plan he started going back up to the light (God)💡 Fun lesson within the lesson. Also going from black & white then to color was a nice touch of that as well.

The verse "Jack fell down and broke his crown..." written on the wall as he described his worldview crumbling. The 'emergency exit' sign on the door he took to go up the stairs near the end...the colors outside as he described the change in his outlook ... the ride he took while describing his 'journey'...etc. Well done. A new belief describes an internal change in a person i.e. the internal changes of a substance. So beliefs actually have causal efficacy. God is one, not 3 in one. Try to know the truth. Messiah, Moses, David, Solemn all prophets are sent by one Almighty Allah to show the truth & way of heaven to the mankind. You called him elohim in distorted hebrew. We call Him " Allah ". " There has no god except Allah " which is the key of entered heaven. Arabs inherited this original name of God " Allah " from prophet Abraham and his son ismael. After a long time, Ismaelities worshipped to one Allah by followed them. but gradually they began to associate Allah with 3 daughters ( lat, uzza, manat) & many deities ( hubal, dushara etc..) for worship. Then Almighty Allah sent his last prophet Muhammad to re- establish the true monotheism teaching of Abraham. Shortly written.
