As a Ukrainian I feel an unexplainable gratitude towards Europeans who gave us homes and financial support during our hard times! And whenever I see a fellow Ukrainian misbehaving I feel truly ashamed and obligated to call this out. Because the best thing we can do as refugees is to try to understand the new culture and adjust us to the new system. In our homeland we are rulers, but we are guests here and have to behave as guests. And from my personal perspective I absolutely don’t understand some others migrants/refugees behavior. If you want to rule and make changes, go to your homeland and do it. Don’t disrespect and destroy European countries that gave you everything your own country would never give you.

If something needs changing, it’s Japanese people who would make changes themselves. All I’m doing is to be a good person and to be grateful for what Japan has offered me, for the hospitality and tolerance of Japanese people despite the fact that my Japanese sucks. I don’t know why immigrants in France can’t even do that. If they don’t like how things are in France, they can just leave. How selfish, ignorant and self-centered could you be to make a whole country change to satisfy your needs?

This is pretty much how I feel as well but I was thinking about what that muslim preacher guy was saying about not having to offend or hurt someone to teach freedom of expression and I was trying to think of something that'd be more relatable as a non muslim person myself. If my teacher in high school was calling black kids in my class the N word to teach freedom of expression, how would that be received here in north america? That teacher would most likely get fired but not murdered. I think there may be a lesson in there for both extremes. Yes you should be allowed to say whatever you want without getting murdered for it but also there should be consequences to saying stuff that's out of line (especially in school). Then again.. it's just a fucking cartoon of some imaginary made up figure that someone CHOSE to believe in. Is it really on the same level of offense as calling black folks the N word? Not even close. I dunno. It sucks to have your faith mocked but at the same time, get over it. That goes for whatever faith you may subscribe to. I was devastated when I found out santa wasn't real. Did I go into a murderous frenzy? Not even close.

But you do not have the right to physically assault me because you're offended or you don't agree with my views. That's just outrageous. Some religious people need to get their heads out of their asses and see that religion is not important to everybody and enforcing religious values on others is wrong. As an African Christian living in London, I moved to the UK 25 years ago for a better life. Sure I miss Africa and of course I'm proud of my culture. But I celebrate my culture in a way that doesn't annoy anyone. I embrace the British way of life and I am devoted to the UK like every other British citizen should be. People are curious and interested in my culture and religion (there are many non Christians in the UK). But they express interest on their own terms. I don't force anyone in anyway to accept my culture or religion, nor do I demand tolerance. The law demands it already. I show tolerance and respect to the British culture and the UK as a country, and in return I expect the same. Be tolerable in order to be tolerated. Don't demand what you're not entitled to. Observe other cultures and religions where you live, and follow their lead. I have many Hindus (Sanatana Dharma) in my community, and they behave well, enjoy their culture and religion without being annoying or demanding things they aren't entitled to, so I behave in the way the Hindus do. As a result we get along well with the native British citizens and they're accepting of us. We respect them and their country and culture and in return they do the same to us.

Are these reasons not enough? In the emergence of extremists and despite all that Islam is the fastest spreading religion in the world; Do not believe what France says about freedom and equality. It isnt Catholic vs Islam but it is France vs Religion to a certain degree. However, wouldnt it be different, if the outcry and moral wrong that certain people felt, was dealt with in court or even debate, instead of people going around shooting, running over people, beheading people ? If you put that on bounds, you lose your freedom. Humor is a coping mechanism, and a way to explore the bigger issues. One of the prices payed for that freedom is hurt feelings, which I'll gladly pay when it "offends" me. The fact that there are terrorist attacks on humor means that it has hit on something that absolutely should be explored further. Not going deeper means that a huge issue is allowed to remain.
