I'm from Madrid and I strongly disagree with the prices for going out for dinner. For 30€ per person, you can eat in incredible restaurants, and in some neighborhoods even less

Yes rent prices are around 450 to 1000€ a moth, both for full house and for rooms, really depends on location, size, etc. But you can eat for way less than 30 € in the city center, you just have to know where to go, there are plenty of Bars and Restaurants with great offers where you pay something in line of 10 to 18 bucks for a full menu, or for 4/5 Tapas (small dishes) that you can share and get full, some places even offer contius supply of these with any new drik so you can actually eat for free if you now where to go. Off couse if you pretend to eat for 10€ a full menu, in the best part of the city center is going to be imposible, but that just like in any big city in the world. In terms of rent, in my opinion unless you have plenty of cash to trought away amd dont mind noise of cars and people parting up until the early morning, is much better to go to neighbourhoods outside or close to the outside of the M30 highway that sourround the city center, as you can find much better deals, much more green areas to enjoy, lower princes in most shops, and you can still get to the city center in less than 20 to 30 mins via Metro (subway), Taxi/Uber/Cabify, or the free eletric bike service. In fact if you know how to properly move in the city you can literally get to the other side of the city in less than 45 min without spending more than maybe 10€ or in less than 30 min if you dont mind spending a bit more.
I really like having both English and Spanish subtitles together. It's great for ppl trying to learn the language, the real life conservations. Sadly, the newer videos doesn't have all these. Have to look elsewhere soon
Some people in the video sounded like 30 mins of the metro trip is like a crazy long thing. I am from one of the largest cities in Eastern Europe with almost 4 million inhabitants and I still remember my first job was taking me around 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to the office changing from metro to bus midway. And then 1:30 back home. And I didn't complain because I've seen even worse.
Excelente !!!
I pay 250 month for morgage in la Rioja. 4 rooms and 2 bathrooms. Salary aprox 1400 net
I have been in madrid for one year and i have never spent 40 euros in a great dinner. You for sure can have a prrety good meal with 30 euros
Soy de California, y ahora me quiero mudar a Madrid, barato
Come to New Jersey ! Our cost of living is way higher ! Of course not quite as high as NyC or California !
similar with the rental cost in chinese big cities
16,6 m2 is the average rent official in city of madrid, it includes good and not so good neighborhoods, so 1000€ per 60m2. The same beer can cost between 2.5 and 6 euros it depends… so you can survive sharing flat with 1000€ but it’s not a good style of life, you can’t buy fish for your dinner or try a restaurant without frozen fries in this way. If you want to live alone as an adult person nowadays you need 2000€, at least the half goes directly to your small apartment.

@tetobermejo

Greetings from Zurich. I pay 2700euros (2600 CHF) for approx 60m2 not downtown. I moved from Vienna where I was paying eur 1300 for approx 55m2 for an apartment very downtown within walking distance of everything

Not enough. I live in Madrid, in Tetuán, and I'm lucky that when I moved here the prices were lower because of the pandemic. I live in a small studio with my cat, but I'd like to move somewhere a little bit bigger, just with a separate bedroom from the kitchen/living room, but it's just imposible. I make 1250 €/month, my current rent is 520 €, but if I want a tiny housing improvement, the minimum rent is around 700 €, but easily 800 €, which I cannot afford. Many people are in the same situation, and you find yourself being a 40 yo still sharing a flat because you cannot afford something better.
