"Taken together … these attacks on multiple axes were able to overwhelm the Syrian air defense systems," he said. McKenzie also said that Syrian air defenses fired up to 40 surface-to-air missiles "without guidance," and that they were "largely ineffective" as they had not managed to shoot down any US aircraft or prevent the intended targets from being destroyed. The Syrian Air Defense Force controls four air defense corps, eleven air defense divisions and thirty-six air defense brigades, each with six SAM battalions. It is equipped with 650 static S-75 Dvina, S-125 Neva/Pechora and S-200 launchers, 300 mobile 2K12 Kub, Pantsir S-1 and Buk launchers and over 4,000 anti-aircraft guns ranging from 23mm to 100mm in caliber. Today it is a significantly modernized system with additional functions, identified shortcomings have been eliminated, and with new missiles against drones (they have a smaller container and are installed on top of the main missiles).

It makes you wonder though how many SEAD assets had to be used to get the Pantsir's engagement rate down. We necessarily don't hear how much of a pain in the ass the Pantsir complexes were to overcome. Cruise missiles fly low but are awfully slow (and don't jink to avoid interception), I for one am prepared to believe we lost quite a few to Pantsir. We leak like a sieve, if a story "got out" about lots of cruise missiles getting shot down, the likelihood is that intel is coming from our own operational personnel.

Those issues related to Pansir system in Syria are NOT of technical nature, but rather caused by human error... I think we can all agree that the Syrian Army is pretty deficient in its ability to properly operate the tech that the Syrian government purchases from Russia or other countries... dont know why that is, maybe carelessness or maybe something else... Also, there are several different variants and modes of operation that Pantsir has... one of the modes of operation is a fully automatic mode where it basically acts as a IRON DOME (KUPOL) where the airspace is completely denied in a specific half-sphere ... so it can be large radius, low altitude (10km radius at 2km height) or it can be high altitude/narrow radius (5km radius at 10km height)... just imagine different *bubbles* in airspace which are covered for specific types of air targets... and pretty much shoots down anything and everything it deems to be a threat within that specific *bubble*... but for the most part the system is designed to be a *cooperative mode* between between Human operator and the Automatic detection system. If the operator is NOT paying attention to the scanner and the system is in semi-auto mode...guess what...nothing happens...

Syria has the export version. The Russian Pantsir, and other russian defense systems, are untouched because it is not an export version and it is meant to work with a lot of other defense systems. Pantsir on its own can do only so much. If it is easy to attack these systems then why do they always fail to attack the russian Pantsir?

After that mass USA/NATO missile strike, Russians published hit percentages of various systems, and while Pantsir s1 and Tor and high persentages of hits, Buk's were in 30-40% range, S-200 had 0% and other USSR systems had 5-15% hits. So considering defense was not made by Pantsir S1 alone, it is logical that many passed through while Pantsir had high hit rate.

In total there were 13 Pantsir systems that have been massacred by Turkish UAVs in the last 2 days. Crazy right!? I'm sorry mate but we do have evidence, what do you have? Nevertheless, If we assume 15! drones are shot down, LMFAO, It is just a low budget drone, no human, nor an operator were harmed! Comparing a 15 million-dollar system to a not even a million worth drone is another argument that I don't even wanna emphasize on lol. Seven French SCALP missiles hit the associated bunker complex near the second target. Air assets operated from bases throughout the region included US Air Force B-1B bombers, which fired all 19 JASSM-ER missiles, escorted by Air Force fighter jets. The operation “significantly crippled” Syria’s chemical weapons capabilities and despite reports of evacuations of some production equipment and other materiel, some fixtures were likely too large to move to another, safe location. U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant General Kenneth McKenzie, the Director of the Joint Staff, said the Syrians had been unable to have any “material interference” in the operation and all the missiles reached their targets. - McKenzie said there had been no indication of a military response from "actors" within Syria, but that American troops in the country remained ready to defend themselves. - He described the mission, which was coordinated so that the 105 total standoff weapons all hit their targets around 4 AM local time in Syria, as “precise, overwhelming, effective." That was a Pantsir on the runway. It’s not an odd location at all, it’s a strategic and tactical location. The Russians were using it to determine Israeli accession and targeting times/sequence for their Percision guided munitions. Knowing this, they could hone the ability of the Pantsir to respond in the quickest and most efficacious manner. The real work was done by the nearby Pantsirs/air defenses well hidden/less obvious collecting data from the one on the runway. They put it on the runway, again, because that’s the one The Israelis would see first and target first, and those times are important to the Russians and the Pantsir defenses !!!!

Pantsir is a relatively new system, and this was its first operational use, much less against a capable enemy like the US and Israel. It is natural for any new system to show many shortcomings, and have them fixed one by one with time. This is exactly why Russia used the Syrian war to test many of its new systems. Pantsir will take a lot of time and money to mature into a polished weapon system. Of course, sometimes the problems may be so fundamental that they require a major redesign and it is cheaper to ditch the whole design an try again. We don't know if this is the case with the Pantsir.

My opinion about some of those experts: I personally don’t trust them. I rad so many different articles from so called experts about so many different weapons that I started to mistrust these articles. I rad articles about how good or how bad the NATO tanks like the Leo-2A6, M1A2 Abrams or Challenger-2 is. There are also articles that claim that the F-22 is a total failure or that the Zumwalt is a success (we all know that this ship isn’t really a success). I wouldn’t rely on such articles but that’s just my opinion. Anyway, glad you uploaded another video. I really enjoy watching them and I hope you’ll keep it up, we’d all appreciate it. Pantsir S1 is upgraded do SM using discovered faults in Syria, specially this in regard to defending from certain slow moving UAV. Israel used this to keep their suicide drone long enough over the area of Pantsir operation, waited until it used all the ammo and hit it when it was offline, waiting for resupply. Syrian crew incompetence helped a lot as they did not have any backup AD unit covering the area and left the truck out on the open in the middle of a runway while having a smoke break ...

@@leonleonov8418 There was one video where another Pantsir was overwhelmed with missiles, yes. The drone that recorded the footage didn't destroy the unit , it was done by another missile seconds earlier. But what;s new there, any system can be saturated with missile. Israeli Iron DOme gets saturated all the time by home made rockets from Gaza or Lebanon and nobody calls it a shame. They are still good systems. Only naive people think there is an unbeatable system. Syria problem is they have no layered defense and Russia won't give them due to close ties with Israel.

In all, 105 weapons struck the Barzah Research and Development Center outside of Damascus, the Him Shinshar bunker, and a storage site near Homs. There are also two independent 9K33 Osa SAM regiments, each with four batteries of 48 mobile SAMs. An unknown number of S-300 system were delivered to Syria in 2018.[1]
