How Does God Use "Wilderness" In Our Lives? | Episode 2 | Land Without Borders

In this episode, host Jack Beck demonstrates how God uses spiritual wilderness in our lives as seasons for growth.
ABOUT THIS SERIES:
“Wilderness is not just an ecosystem-it’s a season of life.” - Jack Beck
Some of the Bible’s most familiar and powerful stories took place in the wilderness. The Israelites spent forty years in the wilderness. Jesus fasted in the wilderness for forty days, before He was tempted by Satan. Even the beloved “Shepherd Psalm,” Psalm 23, may have been inspired by the wilderness. In fact, the wilderness is mentioned more than three hundred times in Scripture.
Now, host Jack Beck ("The Holy Land: Connecting The Land With It's Stories") highlights the easily-overlooked truths of the wilderness-both the harsh, threatening ecosystem in which Bible people sometimes found themselves and the difficult seasons of life in which we often operate. By showing what the wilderness meant to people in Bible times, Jack also provides guidance for our own experience in barren times and places.
In "Land without Borders", Jack Beck will lead you on a journey of discovery, using the Bible’s physical landscape to heighten your spiritual experience.

In the wilderness, it's sometimes feels hopeless like this will never end. Through worship, reading and trusting God's word, praying and fasting, fellowshipping with bredren and with the help of the Holy Spirit HE helps you. The Lord Jesus will give you the strength to endure, keeps you moving forward and eventually HE helps u out of that situation. So many lessons and growth comes from those experiences and you see the Lord Jesus Christ and His purpose in a new light. It's like we are going through processes to be like gold and when we reach the final stage he remove u and places u with HIS precious stones.

God told me I’m in a wilderness season. I’m depending on him for money right now, I had to leave a well paying job due to mental health reasons. It was my dream job but I fell away from God and into sin after I got it. Very hard lesson to learn. I’m not sure where God is taking me in my wilderness season I just know I have to trust Him. I know He wants to prune and refine me of things unpleasant. I have been pressing in, doing tongues and worship and seeking His voice and watching sermons. I pray I’ll be able to walk this out as best as possible. I also fell into drinking and smoking after I lost this job so I’m fighting temptation, while at the same time God is teaching me what crucifying the flesh means and what was accomplished on the cross of Calvary by Jesus 2,000 years ago and what that means for our spirit man vs our sinful man.

PROV 3:11-12 My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline or be weary of his reproof, for the LORD reproves him whom He loves, as a father the son in whom he delights. HEB 12:7-11 It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live? For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, that we may share His holiness. For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

I am beginning to wonder whether God knows what I am thinking and he's speaking to me thro your video. I am not sure if I am experiencing the dark night of the soul or if I am undergoing spiritual wilderness? In a nutshell, I am going thro a difficult time. Maybe it's the covid situation. I feel abandoned by God, that he's missing. As a result of the covid situation, all the churches in my country are closed. It's as if God has cut himself off from all his believers/ followers. And when I prayed to experience presence more thro other means, I encountered instead more and more nasty/ hellish people. It is as if God is pranking me. I started to be skeptical and even doubtful. Then your video headlines "wilderness" caught my attention. I won't say my faith is fully restored but your video is like a sliver of faint light in my dark moments. N just on this count alone, I am grateful bcoz it helps to remind me to keep holding onto him. ODB had been my companion previously, esp in difficult times. Now suddenly, it appeared again on my feed. Please pray for me ODB, thank you!

Hang in there friend. If the Son of God himself went through trials and tribulations then yes if you are one of the Chosen Elect your faith will be tried. Jesus fasted forty days in the wilderness reminiscent of the forty years that Israel spent wandering. What do you get after forty days with no food ? Weakness. No strength. No vigor. No wonder the enemy launched his attack on the Messiah at that very point ! Jesus responded by quoting Scripture back at the enemy and.....eventually he fled. Ephesians teaches that the Word of God is a sword. Use it. Its power is infinite. At your darkest point (I have been there trust me) USE YOUR SWORD AND FIGHT BACK.

How Does GOD Use "Wilderness" in Our Lives? Deuteronomy 8: -to humble us -to test us -to teach us To humble, test & teach us: -our limitation as human -our dependence on HIM -man does not live by bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. -to observe the commands of our LORD GOD -walk in obedience to HIM -to rever HIM "Wilderness is a place with a question WILL YOU TRUST ME?" Wilderness is where GOD chose to demonstrate to HIS chosen people that they could trust HIM, that HE is trustworthy. GOD took them to wilderness to show them that HE is able to provide for them even in the land that lacks everything. GOD does not like arrogance. HE took them to wilderness to humble them by breaking them down to show them their limitation as human and to show them their dependence on HIM and that they could trust HIM when HE provided them with food and water at the land that lacks everything.... 🙏🙏🕊🙏🙏

because the person who wrote the Bible/Torah or whatever you call it never lived in the desert. The people who wrote the Bible thought Sinai was something like Montana/Wyoming where there were still animals to eat and enough water sources, when in reality Sinai is a cruel desert.
