How do I Overcome Addictions and Compulsive Disorder?

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Addictions and compulsive behaviors signal that we are not able to properly make use of our mind and bodies. As humans, we have the ability to employ our minds to go beyond our fundamental needs of life. Inner Engineering improves our ability to conduct our life in the way we want it without being compelled by external influences and circumstances.

"inner engineering is about gaining the ability to employ discretionary dimension of who we are. discretion means we can conduct our life the way we want it, NOT the way we are compelled by the situation in which we exist or by chemistry in our body or other influences upon us. going beyond our chemistry, genetics and situations in which we exist, a human being can craft his life the way he wants it. the basic process of IE is to empower a human being to be able to employ his discretion so he can move his life to a dimension beyond his present level of existence"Sadhguru ~~powerful

he is not affiliated with any religious sect. He is a self-realized yogi. His spiritual practice is a purely scientific possess. He is a master of the ancient science of Kriya Yoga and that is what he teaches. If you sincerely desire to know more I suggest reading "Autobiography of a Yogi" by Paramahansa Yogananda.

Hey Shred I just made this account to let you know that you are NOT alone. For a little over two months I was addicted to that stuff too. It started out "innocent" only doing it one ever week or so and then after a month I was up to the same level as you smoking 2-3g per day. What I would suggest is just stop buying it. You're going to get the urge REALLY BAD to go buy it but RESIST! I promise it's worth it to resist. The first week or two is really bad too but if you can get over the week hump

Yeah ! I was done greatest injustice and given an appraisal of just a P and was forced to suffer the indignity of working beneath an incompetent reserved category b.com who was promoted to SRA after me, the oldest team member, engineer and CFA L1 teaching him the tasks ! I suppose it could even be illegal, it certainly is unjust ! While I had Argentinian manager, I always secured higher rating for 2 consecutive previous years (I was ILP gem in TCS, my previous company too !) but he left along with older Argentinian senior research analysts and I had come under Indian manager and younger novice shadow analysts replaced older Argentinian analysts. The Indian manager and AD were concerned more with me submitting myself beneath the reserved category b.com, whom I only had trained and who was now appointed as so called SRA (SRA in name only, no merit), instead of being concerned with work getting done. And at my nonverbal refusal to bow down/report to OBC guy in spirit, whom I only had trained, they overworked me to the point of suicide/death, didn't even give me my bonus, LTA or allow team change after 3 years of work, instead just got rid of me by making my life miserable and driving me to the point of almost suicide ! I had told 'em in advance and booked tickets to attend sunburn and hopefully find true love and rejuvenate after hectic work and draining CFA l2 studies, but the sadists manager and AD didn't even allow me leaves for it, they wanted me back on new year's - the main day of sunburn ! This after they had called me to work on all national holidays like Holi etc to run critical operations. And finally they fired me just one week before I could get LTA, bonus, etc. I couldn't even attend SunBurn :( They completely broke me down, and no reasonable person can have faith in Indian corporates after such abusive use and throw. One analyst had even died, due to work stress I guess, but not sure. They are also well known to not be top paymasters, which they proudly boast of in their town halls and not during recruitment ! Don't know why they have head office in posh area, when they pay for dwelling in slums ! Might as well shift their head office in a slum, to match the pay scale. But between stimulus and action, there lies our ability to choose our response. Our ability to be human instead of compulsive indiscretionary animals, that I think my ex colleague and inhuman tyrant bosses were. Atleast I don't want to/ and literally can't fall any further. It has been a struggle to not fall for Stockholm syndrome and develop any positive feelings about my captors who completely broke me down. Have suffered immensely being a general category male born in India. No dignity, no justice. Endless barriers for higher education at the so called institutes of excellence. But going forward, can only go upwards from here ! Though I lack clarity or direction, all ways from here only lead upwards :) So after a long break, during which I read as much as I could, books like man's search for meaning, lot of Sadhguru's books, I recently attended inner engineering and am being the change I wish to see in the world. My ability to change others could be limited but my responsibility, like to transform myself, is limitless. I'd like to create myself consciously like Adiyogi - swayambhoo. Have also seen chit-shakti meditations in Sadhguru app. Had things gone on as smooth as they were under Argentinian manager, I might not have taken steps to develop my spiritual side or learn Shambhavi Mahamudra. But when feeling of injustice comes, which made me read stoic philosophy books too ! I try to only be concerned with things I can control and have no opinion about/ be indifferent to things outside of my control. \/,

I used to be addicted to life. I would never spend more than 6 hours inside. Then I was introduced to alcohol too early. I was praised by people for my drinking style. Now it's a major problem. Been off and on many times. I find it easy to quit if I have a significant other to help me but the alcohol clouds my mind to the point where I'm not focused enough to find the love. It's a viscous fucking cycle. Especially when you're alone without family or friends. I'm living, what feels like, an alternate life. I don't feel myself but the true me deep inside is yelling for clarity. I can't find where to start. Fk this demon.

But when I overdid it a few times it felt like my heart was racing and I started to feel like I was having an all out panic attack. When I was coming off of it I felt profoundly depressed and emotionally "dried out" and that's what's so dangerous about that stuff!!
