How Much Sleep Do I Need?

The human body or the human mechanism is the most sophisticated machinery on the planet. Sadhguru demystifies the common notion that our bodies need 8-10 hours of sleep and offers 3 steps to reduce the amount of sleep we need. After all, a machine so sophisticated does not need to be in maintenance mode half the time.

    Any military man will tell you this is true. All you need is 4 hours of continuous uninterrupted sleep to function. And maybe one or two 20 min power naps.

    You know, when you sleep in the afternoon for about,say, 3 hours then wake up and wonder how many days you've been sleeping. Yes. That's the kind of sleep you need , A SHORT AND MINDFUL SLEEP. Not a long one. The QUALITY of the sleep is more important than the QUANTITY

    I suspect they might be physical and breathing exercises, certain foods and meditation. Fast walking, special breathing exercises which are part of pranayama, certain fruits and vegetables, and meditation are awesome. Consistently fall asleep between 9pm and 10pm turning off all lights and meditating for 20 mins before you go to bed is very powerful. Try it, you might like it.

    Every thing cannot be disseminated in a video . It requires committed atmosphere, in ancient times disciples spent and served their masters for years before getting initiated that was the conviction they had.

    doot agree with this view as if we keep anything properly and with care it would last long.if we keep using any thing continuously we will buren it early.depreciation will be more. it also true for eatings and breathing. who eats less and breaths long lives long.so who sleeps enough will live long. THAT IS FOR SURE.

    It's important to be thankful for everything you receive & experience, Then life becomes a gift. It's important to learn from all the hardships you may encounter, Then you secure your life progression. It's important to be a giving and sharing personality, Then you can receive. There is nothing important, only wise and in your own and others best interest, And life will be good. These are the steps that brought me to another level of being. I sleep maybe 4hrs per day, or less.

    I think he raised your interest to pay for the full program "package" and be enlightened... Or maybe there is no such "3 magic tips to sleep less and live better". I believe the amount of sleep is proportionally bonded to your genetic heritage, food, exercises and mental stress. As he mentioned, the more you get worn the more sleep you`ll need. Also, calm and controlled people tend to use of more hours of sleep...

    Foods you should avoid and the foods you need to take, to keep you energized. They are called pranic foods, non pranic foods. Fruits and most vegitables are pranic. Non-Veg, garlic, onions are non pranic foods make you lethergic. Ash Gourd Juice, and honey is suggested in the morning. Avoid Coffee and such stimulants which keep you awake. Join inner engineering program from isha foundation, you learn Shambhavi Mahamudra, this needs to be thought by a Guru, so you should not do it by yourself.

    it is no engineering and not maintenance at all. We are humans and not machines that require maintenance to function properly. human sleep should be 8 hours average in order to function properly and efficiently otherwise you will be dull and grim. we all have different professions in our life in which the amount of rest varies for eg. a sportsperson requires more sleep than a accountant...hence we cant have same sleep period for everyone but 8hr sleep is an average for everyone.

  • @durgaanagula7919
    @durgaanagula79199 жыл бұрын

    On an average, a average man will certainly need around 6 to 7 hours of sleep in which he should at least have a deep sleep of 4 hours minimum. Guru sometimes get deviated, again Guru knows why. It is just my opinion.
