I LOVE these podcast-type speculation content! it really helps put things into prespective of what the game COULD be and it's so much fun and it helps to build hype! Personally I would love a Brawlhalla style team queue w/ League ranks. Also the Clash idea is GREAT and it would help people join the community and get that fear of tourneys out of their way cause "It's just a clash, I can try next time (week/month)". it's low-stakes but it really helps practice and become better and less anxious with tournaments in general!

I think there is a bit of nuance to the distinction between two or one player. It's been shown historically that coaching has a huge benefit for certain players, so the idea of getting feedback from you're partner mid match will definitely be great for some players.

I feel like random queue would actually be very funny. Like getting randomly paired with someone and just clicking with them might be a really good game moment. Like there would obviously be more bad matches than good ones, but I feel like the one good match would make up for it.

Enjoyed the discussion. If you're open to feedback, I have some advice. If not, that's cool and you can ignore the rest of my comment. In a discussion like this, try to avoid interrupting the other speaker or speakers unless it's absolutely necessary. There was a 10-15 minute stretch where you didn't let your guest finish a single one of their thoughts or points before jumping in. I know you're not doing it intentionally (this is a bad habit I had to train myself out of years ago too for my job). It's better to leave a longer amount of silence after they're finished speaking, than it is to try and rush to fill any silence. And if you feel the silences are too long you can always edit them down anyway. Makes for a better listening experience for your audience, and while this guest seemed not to mind, it will rub some people you're talking with the wrong way.

With the beta in less than a year, i would hope they start announcing characters every two weeks at some point, considering they had all characters in the valo beta. Also, they have a ton of characters ready for sure. Aint no way they only have 5 and need to make 10 more in less than 10 months.

Hopefully we can choose to play two characters at any given tournament. It would be annoying, if we have to be stuck with toxic players most of the time like in League Of Legends to climb ranked. (fighting game pros tend to be solo btw.)

These young lads must have missed sfxt! This isn't the first fighting game to have a 2v2 multiplayer component online! In fact I can only imagine this exists because the game project L was based off of came out during the time street fighter x tekken was new! Go look up the evo sfxt 2v2 tournament! It's a lot of fun to play with a friend and absolutely awful to play with a random. Solo play is a lot more optimal even if you have great team synergy. You'll both have disagreements on meter management and which matchup is better and if it's better to stay in or tag and blah blah blah blah. Mostly 1 person carrying... I expect it to be about the same in this game even with the bigger focus on teamwork. Again from experience playing with a random is terrible. AWFUL even.

I'm with you there. Fucking around in arcade mode of SFxT with my partner was fun, but against humans? We were having to vocally call out seconds ahead of time when we're gonna tag each other in. Against friends just goofing around that was fine, but it'd be a nightmare to try in competitive ranked. Queueing with randoms in something like Miltiversus was fine. We're both on screen, we can read each other's situations well and sync up alright, assuming we're both taking the match seriously. I just don't see myself queueing with someone, random or not, in 2XKO.

Its kinda dumb to think how a fighting game will be competitive. Heck fighting games are hyper competitive game genre lol
