The hardest part of finding characters for 2XKO is not making the roster 90% toplaners. Most of those champs were designed specifically for brawling. Other roles need representation, but its gotta be hard to add champs like Jax, Sett, Irelia, Riven, Aatrox, etc, and still have roster space for nerds like Malzahar and Varus.

Most archetypes in league translate into fighting games as zoners, and with a roster full of zoners the game is not going to be particularly popular. I think the issue is how do you translate ranged characters without making them zoners. Also the roster is huge, if they plan to include even half of the roster I’m out, learning match-ups is going to be a nightmare.

??? they already have Ahri and Yasuo in there as well as Ekko. Three champions that AREN'T toplaners. The only two confirmed right now that ARE actually toplaners are Darius and Illaoi. Besides, there's a TON of characters not played toplane that can brawl. Here are some examples from the support role: Braum Blitzcrank Taric Rakan Alistar Nautilus Leona Here's some examples from the jungle role: Kha'Zix Rengar Kayn Zac Sejuani Jarvan Lee Sin, for obvious reasons. Udyr Skarner Here's some examples from the adc section: Jhin (could play like Happy Chaos from GG) Samira Varus Ezreal Zeri Lucian Tristana Sivir So assuming the entire 2XKO roster is gonna be 90% toplaner is just false and ignorant.

My most wanted character to see it Yuumi.. Not actually as a character, but as a mechanic. When you select her on the character select screen, what you're actually choosing is to solo-main the other character you pick. Yuumi stays attached to them and gives them a buffed healthbar and maybe heals their recoverable health with the swap button, and possibly she also has her own assist attacks as replacements for the crazy stuff you can do with swapping... But she can't actually switch in, and when you lose your primary character you lose the round.

hear me out on briar, the first time i saw this character, it reminded me of +r a.b.a, how she has a slow mode, and a high risk high reward mode where she becomes the gorilla, i would think this could be a neat design in a fighting game but i don't know how it would work on a tag game

i think kayn is more ABA... like kayn starts off first round in his normal form,has to do stuff to gather meter for his transform (has to do kind of alot to gain said meter) then he has two seperate special moves that turn him into either red or blue kayn which locks him into that state for the whole game. makes sense for it to be like this cause its simmilar to leauge where u can lose the game as kayn before you even got your form lol.. is it good desgin, though? idk its unique for sure

@@levaniandgiorgi2358 this is mostly strive ABA, where you need to get resources first, but when you are in the install you don't have much risk(only of getting off install, witch doesn't happen with kayn), the thing about +r ABA, is that you can gamble and install whenever you want, but there's risk attached to it(losing life/suka animation and briar self taunt), also both characters lose life, witch can be regained, are an absolute burst damage menace, and are the crazy quirky girl archetype

I think Yumi could totally be in the game as the character you pick when you want to play a solo character. So like in Skullgirls where you can pick your team size, itd be like that but you pick your main and Yumi and she'd just buff your main. Could totally work, and would be thematic for the character

He’ll be like Faust n articune had a baby n his whole stick is he jump scares you with clones that act like the real one by doing moves the real one does and to fear you then kill you. Idk how they gonna incorporate stasus effects in the game if they will but fear for fiddlesticks has to be one of his gimmicks cuz that’s his whole thing in league he literally does not let you play the game or you are so terrified you try to play passive but fiddle will always find you and fear you til death. If they make fear where it’s a bunch of crazy shit on the screen or maybe you can’t do anything besides defend or maybe dp cuz your feared. They gotta do something really scary but cool

If Gnar isn’t in 2XKO, Riot is basically throwing. Gnar would translate so well into a fighting game. Imagine a stance character where your stance is influenced by the game actions you take and not by hitting a button. Peak.

I haven't played league since like 2014 and this entire video was me being like "oh hey, finally a guy I know!" and Sajam immediately putting them in Not Interested

I think there’s gonna be a lot more women in the roster than the must have tier suggests. A higher proportion of female champs in league are mages enchanter marksmen that don’t fit too well in a fighting game (then again we got Jinx but she’s also the closest thing Riot has to a mascot), so the few that do fit like Samira Akali Leona Vi move way up in priority

Fiddle imo would be Faust n articune had a baby, his decoys act like the real one and do random attacks to scare you. Its interesting cuz it doesn’t do any dmg but In that moment you do not know if it’s the real one or not so ppl might waste key abilities on a decoy cuz of the “fear” aspect. Then his actual fear could either make the enemy start going crazy and seeing all kinds of shit then maybe his decoy can actually hit you now and he can get access to his ult and since his ultimate is basically adding a bunch of shit around him like a crow storm while still being able to freely move n use his abilities, they can tie it to being only used after being hit by fear since his ultimate in the game only really works if you can surprise the enemy which wouldn’t work in a fighting game since your always in your opponents face so fear would need to work differently

I am hype for this, especially after watching MajinObama becoming obsessed with Tahm Kench.

Dunno how well this will work but for Kayne, it could be based on round 1. If he wins, he is "worthy" and becomes blue If he loses, Red takes over. Both last for the rest of the game

shen or thresh could justify a mechanic where you tag in your partner with super armor and let them go ham for a few seconds. would be sick to have utility require that degree of consideration when teambuilding, really curious to see how supports will be designed, if they're even adding in any

I feel like Xayah could be a really fun character, have her summon Rakan kinda like android 18 summons 17 in dbfz, but make her a zoner.

Zed is the Akuma of league, undeniably edgy but not overdone (like Kayn or Kage), hopefully wont take long to see him. His ult in League is literally the "youre already dead" trope, and the mechanic of marking your opponent to do a delayed explosion based on the damage done during the mark hasnt been done in a fighting game I believe, it could open up avenues for very tense mix-up/defense moments

As someone that played a lot of LoL a decade ago ( I stopped around when Vladimir got added ), this video mainly showed me how many champions got fully reworked / redone visually since then.

Passing up on axe retrieving Olaf then turning around and praising Oriana for her ball setplay is crazy to me. On top of that Olaf gets stronger the lower health he has AND heals more. The dude is practically a DmC character as it stands now.

I always appreciate that when we get fighting games of pre-existing IP, the devs always mix in some characters that doesn't feel fighting gamey at all to fill specific archetypes. They're way more creative than me.

Bruh Briar's whole thing is gas pedal no control, she'd be an AWESOME rushdown resource character with frame traps and a couple mix ups! Low mobility but high oppression!

I think League has alot of potential for easy stance characters (as in easy to play, or pick up). Bevause alot of stance characters in league are seperated by ranged amd melee forms, I think that it could translate into something easy to understand for players who want to learn a stance champ but are intimidated by how many moves they generally have. I would be interested to see Kayn as aFG character. He could earn stacks for certain actions, similar to Jamie, or Manon, but specific actions edge you towards different transforms. I think playing im your face and getting aggressive giving you a transform giving you a move set similar to Vaseraga, while playing poke/semi zoning gives you a transform maybe closer to uhhhh Axel or Dahl I'm with long range normals would create interesting mid game dynamics.

So for characters like Janna, I can imagine her being like mechanically hard to play as an assist character - requiring button holds and stuff while doing other inputs - because she'd mainly be designed as a support in a 2-player team (imagine you're teaching your friend how to play so you can pick Janna to do your fancy assist shit) and she'd cater more to that role if she made it in rather than be strong outright. I do feel there will be some characters designed with that 2-player team aspect in mind who give you some benefits for not playing solo and for helping people (based support role in a FG)

Kalista can actually be very fun. She has a spear whch has ofc melee moves but she can also shoot it and her passive where she bonds to an ally can make her interesting because this is a duo game. One of the ultimates could be throwing your ally in for big damage and they can start combos from there maybe

Re: Janna though, Legends of Runeterra did a visual update that makes her way cooler. Her level-up makes her way more inhuman, way more spirit-y, which could be interesting as an install I guess. Nidalee is in a similar situation, her LoR visual update is night-and-day compared to her League appearance.

when the game was first announced zi remember hoping for like 2 specific champs to be in the game, but the more I think about it so so many champs have such good fighting game potential. I think I am gonna have at minimum 3 characters I love playing, which I am thankful for cause I usually don’t get into tag fighters since I have 1 character I like way more than the rest

I can't describe how excited I was to see an hour long 2KXO speculation video from you. But my best effort would be "very excited". I'm hoping for Trydamere, Rammus and Gragus personally. (Also I'm half way through editing my comment, I hope Nautilus makes it in, I just forgot about him). I think it'd be crazy if they didn't have every character that's in Arcane though

My boy Cho'Gath was undersold. He has potential to be a really interesting grappler. Feast could be a command grab that builds him up like Manon in SF6. Rupture could be a full screen neutral tool like Potemkin's slide head in GGST. You could maybe make primal scream into a move that helps him guarantee oki, by locking out abilities, like the ability to switch or use reversals or something. He could be very interesting.

I think most people dislike it when that's the "best" option but I feel like most people don't really care: Persona does a good job of balancing it actually since there's a meter bonus for autocombo but they're basically always lower damage by quite a bit. Just depends on the exact context imo

I see it as it rewarding button mashing. Many beginners tend to default to just mashing because they haven’t learned motion inputs or proper timing yet, and if that mashing results in a series of attacks that are even an ok combo, they’ll start spamming it when threatened because it’s a safe option that will generally always get them some damage instead of experimenting with other stuff their character does and learning/improving through experience

@@gabrielpozlotka3473 but from a standpoint of casuals having fun with the video game they're playing, it seems to make more sense than sitting ur buddies down for an instrument lesson when they wanna try a new character to hit basic combos. it also serves as a mini-demo of what they should be trying to do for real combos imo its fine as long as the string wastes resources and is terrible on block, so they run into problems once someone evokes the evil art of holding back-wards (but still see the big pretty cutscenes if they hit)

Hwei is more like asuka than nine in that he doesnt combine anything but rather pulls from three spellbooks each containing 3 spells

Surprised to learn that Mordekaiser's Ult is the same as Feral Chaos' EX Burst in Dissidia Final Fantasy, except it's more meaningful here because it removes an enemy player from their team for an extended time while also putting them in the Own Zone. Would like to see that in another fighting game.

I think when it comes to Gwen and honesty what I think people are sleeping on for fighting game setting is her ult. It can be Install or Strider Orbs like super that let's her extend her pressure and combos. Just seems perfect to me

karthus and sion could really be interesting characters. Sion being so angry that he refuses to die and for the first maybe 10 seconds or so after dying he can fight alongside his partner. Karthus sees death as a good thing, so he sucks as a solo character, but he stays on the field permanently with an actual mana bar, and he can cast spells in the background whenever he wants to help his teammate. Idk, I like the idea of some characters being useful after death

If Yumi acts a single character mode i want her in. But only if it also limits you to one player

i like how the title makes it seem like sajam has no knowledge about league, but then in the video he already knows a lot about every character

I think that Riven having an Install Ultimate is the laziest option. They made Yasuo a Stance-Changer. If anything, Riven may not be a Rushdown, considering how obvious that would be. I'd prefer a Riven who is a Bait and Punish, where she uses her broken sword to lance and poke out on mistakes, with her Runic Blade passive giving extra meter when she lands a Spell and then cancels it with a Normal.

As someone who has previously played LoL, gotten into fighting games and then looking forward to 2XKO, I must say that overall I agree with your choices! My midlane main is already there (Ahri) and I hope that my toplane main (Riven) gets in. But one thing is if one of my jungle mains (Vi and Sejuani) happen to gets in too, I would be in some serious character crisis! :D

I didn't think Sajam would put any character in "Please No" tier, and then they started showing up in rapid succession! XD

Briar could work with a special blood meter (that dosent kill you) like Nago and Aba's playstyle . Considering she literaly eat people and she got that thing that limits her movement but can be "remove" , the feast or famine playstyle make sense and might work.

Keep in mind udyr is a shamen beast mage who uses the traditional way of running hands; he is a mage but he uses his fist for spell casting and lets gods through his body to give him their powers to fight. And as a joke character they "could" add poppy or rumble for anyone to either lab with or just turn brain off and button mash.

you didn't like sivir??? boomerang setplay holding you down with the threat on return, her R being an install that lets you ginei jin, and the possibility of them implementing spell shield in an interesting way? i think she has a lot of potential, plus the boomerang can lend itself to good melee and ranged animations.

Aphelios will probably be the Shulk of 2XKO where you have your one major ability that will change how you play.

Rengar and Samira are gonna be my mains if they will be added.

They could do so many dope things with Zed. There's also a lot of potential for adding characters in batches. 2XKO is live service so assume seasons, they could do like a "Season 1 Ionia" theme and that's when they introduce Zed, Akali, Shen, etc.

Yea, I would assume they would do packs as well, like kha vs rengar or diana vs leona as DLC.

Neeko should be like Mokujin from Tekken, and basically a "random" character that you dont know what they are till the match starts and they transform.
