Not so long ago, I saw Ukranian artillery-men being trained in the UK by an instructor from the New Zealand Army. Even the Kiwis are up here, doing their bit.

As an American I want to wish the Ukrainians the very best. In being trained by British, you have a good start, as they are as good a military as there is. All Americans I know that have served with the British have the utmost regard for their military.

Those so called conscripts arent even conscripts as your media and government (who loe to you ) are calling them, they are reservists. Becuase they already had 1 year of training in the russian army at a certain point in their life. Russia state law: All males between the ages of 21 to 30 eligible to serve in the army must do so for 1 year

A lot of these lads train very, very close to where I live, and it's been a pleasure to meet the few we are blessed to have met, and my Son, who is currently serving with the Royal Signals in Dorset, is very glad to have met several of these warriors. My father was a CSM WO2 in the Royal Anglian Regiment (Vikings) (Infantry) for 24 years and he is blown away by the way the Russians are conducting this war and the way they train their soldiers.. even if they were to start Using non commissioned officers the length of training that requires to turn them into professional fighting units is a long time and time I don’t think Russia has on their side..

Here here. We desperately need to be abiding by the new NATO agreement to increase ammunition production in all of our countries. The US is apparently doing it, and it should be on target now with what is needed for their own stockpiles in the coming months and by the end of the year if all goes well, as well as what they need to give to Ukraine. We need to be doing the same as well and this time, after the war is done, we mustn’t stop otherwise we will be in the same problem again. Let’s keep this going and stay strong no matter what for ourselves AND our allies.

The sad fact is that some of these brave civilians, now soldiers, will pay the ultimate price in defending their country and the narrator makes reference to how their lives have changed from a year ago. Dam the men of power who at a whim destroy the lives of ordinary people on all sides.

Agreed, I'm glad to see our military aid being delivered and used to train new Ukrainian recruits in order to raise the effectiveness of their army.

Hopefully, with experience, they will come back and bring our instructors up to date.

God bless them all and give them strength. They have the hearts of 'Lions'.

Hope there getting lots of knowledge & skills in fire & maneuver, marksmanship, hand signs and navigation and CQC(Close Quarters Combat) training.

You do realise they are only training them for 4-6 weeks each? This is murder, not even the Germans in their most dire moments of WW2 gave their soldiers so little training.

These guys being trained aren’t tossed at the front after 4 weeks, they’re rotated into lower intensity detachments (I.e Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia…) for experience and gradually developed & deployed into Donetsk area as needed. The army started 400k strong plus 900k reserves - this is mostly new volunteers since Feb ‘22 that want training to become reservists (or eventual infantry depending on performance).

I think other Commonwealth armies are also assisting in the training as well.

IN Forces News we trust

10,000 troops is about 10 battalions trained to NATO standards. UK will train 20 more battalions in 2023. The EU is training another 30 battalions and the US has trained 3 so far and several more in 2023. That’s about 65 battalions total. for Russians have lost about 120 battalions in Ukraine against a smaller army, national guard and volunteers. When these 65 battalions get into the field the Russian losses will get much worse. The west is also training hundreds of Ukrainian Trainers which will enable Ukraine to train dozens more battalions by itself. Thus, Putin’s actions will result in a fully NATO trained Ukrainian army of hundreds of thousands of troops on its south western border. Well done Vlad 😅

This is excellent but it's not enough. 20,000 in one year doesn't cut it. It really needs to go to 100,000. There's no shortage of volunteers. But then we need to equip them with armour support, logistics. We need to turn this up a gear.

It's not about numbers, its not a nutrition war like ww1 or ww2, well russia fights like that still in human wave attacks because there stupid loosing 900 a day. The west fights totally different to russia. It's about the training! Being swift on the battle field. Russian conscrips won't stand a chance against these. I'd put my money on 20k of these than over 200k russians all day long who have 0 training dragged out of jail and put on a battlefield. You've got 0 chance.

It's obvious now that putin has not only overestimated his own army but also heavily underestimated Ukrainians. He thought it will be as easy as annexing Crimea in 2014 but he was clearly wrong. Ukrainian army has been fihgting for 8 years now on the East and they've passed their experience to the newly mobilized people. Same can be said about foreign instructors from all over the world who did their part. Ukrainians are eager to learn and to apply their newly acquired skills on the battlefield to fight for their country's freedom. We need to aid them with achieving victory, russians will regret invading Ukraine.
