How Biscotti are made in Tuscany

Ойын-сауық

Biscotti di Prato, or cantuccini as the Italians call them, are an Italian pastry classic, originating from the region of Tuscany. They can be recognized by their long shape and their hard, crispy texture. No wonder Italians love to eat them by dipping them in dessert wine or coffee. Biscotti di Prato are usually made with almonds, but there are other variations made from chocolate, orange peel, or other nuts. Antonio Mattei is a company from Prato that has been making cantuccini since 1858.

It’s videos like this that make me afraid to go to Italy. I’d arrive in an airplane, but I’d have to go home in a storage container I’d be so big.

you’re totally wrong. It’s eating what you’re eating at home (outside of Italy) that could make you Fat, not Italian food. Look at the statistics. Diet sodas, processed foods and fast food are killing us, not real Italian Food (NY/NJ food, even as delicious as it is, it’s NOT Italian food).

@@bcperry1973 they canceled my first response to you. I’ll see if they cancel this one too. USA beats Italy 42 to 12 as percentage of Obese people inside their own population. so your fear is not valid. Just in case you’re not a fellow American but from UK, the Brits beat Italy 26 to 12. Australian ? 32 to 12. Make your own conclusion about who’s eating better and where

let’s start by saying to Non Italians that BISCOTTI just means cookies. These specific ones are called Cantucci or Cantuccini, not Biscotti.

@@karenneill9109 yes, literally it is “cooked twice”. But for everyone, a biscotto is a cookie. There is no such thing as THE biscotto. In this case it is Biscotti di Prato (if I remember correctly the town) which are Cantucci or Cantuccini.

I hate these faux Italian accents Americans seem to insist on doing in these videos It just jars! You wouldn't do a video in the north of England and part way through a sentence suddenly say '"oddersfield" (Huddersfield) in a thick Yorkshire accent would you? So why do you do it in Italy?
