In this 2 part video series, Austin Davis [Drummer for Kari Jobe] and David Curran [Bassist for Elevation Worship/Lauren Daigle] teach the relationship between drums and bass.
Good communication between bass and drums is one of the most important factors in any band. Every drummer and bassist play differently, so learning how to connect and adapt your playing style to lock in with each other is key.
In Part 1, Austin and David go through each section of Reckless Love [Bethel] and demonstrate how to practically adapt your playing and master the relationship between drums and bass. Watch now!

Thanks so much!! Happy to help! 😊
Your base is just like props
Helpful comments on bass/drums relationship. One comment I heard several times that is concerning. He referred to the congregation as the audience. There is only One audience, the King of kings and Lord of Lords.
So play with the kick drum is the rule of thumb

@@Worshiponline thank you for your reply! This may not be the place to ask this question...but I’ll give it a shot. Can you speak to the differences between the Istanbul Agop 16” 30th Anniversary hats and the 16” Signature hats? I’ve heard both online and the Signatures seem a bit brighter and bit louder...but since there’s no place for me to try these out in person I thought I would ask here. Do you know of any players using the Signatures?

@@MichaelJones-dj2xj That's a great question, Michael! Your assessment is correct! Signature is brighter and louder (which I love) and the 30th is just darker. Austin Davis, the guy in this video, uses and has both! And he will switch from one to other depending on what the song calls for. Hope this helps! Feel free to keep asking questions!
