The thing is even if they did nothing that car could go for 1500 now they know it has a few extras and with a few grand its could be worth over 4000 so if they did the work even at the garage they would make 500 without it going up if they don't restore it they are mad

3:36 - 100% accurate 😂 MR2's are all about the driving experience, not the mechanical one for sure - Taz.

I bought my 1990 G-Limited NA MR2 on my 18th Birthday in 2014 for £580, absolutely loved it and actually didn’t crash it, had it until last year when the rust was just too much, still managed to sell it for £1250 but it’s not been MOT’d by the new owner lol

And that’s the last time we will see that car 😂 they all make a first appearance when you buy them, 2nd when you take them to a garage, and that’s it they disappear 🤷‍♂️

wk1 - Make a video looking for a cheap car on facebook or ebay and not be confident enough to say "no thanks" when they get there and its complete junk. wk2 - Make a video acting really shocked when they realise the crap car is a crap car and they only got what they paid for car then never seen again - we saw it with £1 volvo, £50 civic, Streetka, Audi A4, blue MR2, MGF, E46.....list goes on yawn lather...rinse...repeat only interesting one was the girl they bought the 206 for

@@Eddie1992uk I agree, But I can tell you what happened to a couple of them. £1 Volvo is being used by alex, he brought home some patio bricks with it as can be seen on his instagram. Streetka was rusted to shit so it was scrapped after being parted out I believe? A4 was used by Jack for a while as a temporary replacement for his golf, Before being sold. Blue mr2 is a mystery though, so much for a build series. E46 compact is probably still knocking around.

So you fixed everything and then you sold it? :P I have the mk1 and apart from rust it has been a very reliable car. It isn't great to work on, but you don't have to work on the engine all that much. And there isn't much that drives like this, so much fun.

The mk1 is the best MR2 if you ask me, it looks the best out of the 3 and everything can be done on it at home. I had one years ago and one could even change the timing belt on it without any special tools. I miss mine but I sold it back then because regular diesel family cars would out punch you at mid range speeds lol

So the car is stock aside from the oil cap and aftermarket steering wheel, great investment there by the previous owners. Removing the most important airbag for aesthetics, always a solid choice.

1990 SW20 didn’t come with any airbags as standard. Remember this car is 31 years old. But yeah, that steering wheel is not the one.

Loose plastic underside trim = "Active aero" PMSL. "Rare + Weird + PITA + Nightmare" = Expensive lol.

Love the car keep the auto box as well. Makes it more unique and more chilled to drive.

This is genuinely a very rare find and worth a resto! Please save this one!

you can get a reinforcement plate for the weak sway bar mount area, I believe the Suspension Techniques branded ones come with a reinforcement plate as part of the full front/rear kit.

This is kinda shocking, I was expecting it to be held together by zipties and tape.

I had the UK mk 2 version after this with the adjustable rear wing. A workmate did 2 grand's worth of damage when he clouted a kerb! Nice car.

I have an 86 Nissan fairlady turbo T top 16 left here and an 94 100nx T top 65 left here never had a problem getting parts for either of them in Japan.

Should have bought the Audi.

Fensport are the best, really helped me with my Celica a few years back, Top blokes.

Yooo I just bought mine at 16, it’s a 1991 manual Japanese import, sorted out a place to keep it and work on it, (local garage mechanic letting me use his tools lifts and knowledge). So hyped

working on toyotas for 45years this guy looks about 35! aged well

I would love to see you guys dropping a 2gr-fe 3.5l V6 into that mr2. Alot of parts can be sourced from other contempory toyota models like celica, camry and even hilux (headlights atleast). Mr2s has such potential to become extremely fast and fun to drive.

Worth saving that as its so solid underneath

These ones aren't Ferrarris, Lamborghinis, Bughattis, McLarens, Koenigseggs. These are among the cheapest mid engine sports cars. No that expensive yearly services. But these are slightly more complicated than a normal Toyota

I bought a mint 99 Sw20 na (170 hp) for 8k € in 2019. It was kinda ok price for what I got (one couldn't find even a Corolla in that condition for that money).

This is a strange window into a reality where Ethan was actually into cars and became a mechanic.

Fix it! Check out Woody’s resto on The Skid Factory. Either keep stock or maybe a V6 Camry engine swap.
