I offered to sell them my late grandfather's 97 Saab 9000 cse 2.3t Coz my dad insisted it was rusty and was selling it for £650 but I had a closer look and turned out my grandad had had the welding done and it went straight through MOT! Actually lucky they turned it down 😅 it's now my daily and I love it 😁

Love how Jack kept the Saab. It was slow as balls but it’s genuinely a really nice looking car

I prefer the regular wheels too. For me, the Evo 8 looks much better in grey with blacked out wheels but the Z4 doesn't. Not as racy.

I’d paint the standard wheels in a gun grey, my dad has them in that colour on his E46 328 and they look amazing against the blue paint.

@@TheVerseCity The 1.8T MK4 Golf GTIs were for sale for less than £1k two years ago. I bought 3 of them as engine donors and didn't spend more than £800 for all three of them.. That's how absurdly cheap they were. But my brother sold his MK4 GTI last month for £1,900.. So the price of them are definitely going up as well.

If you're in the UK then yes, definite awful first car, Insurance will murder you financially depending on your age. Anything bigger than a 1.4 Fiesta or something will be financial suicide if you're younger, I'm aiming for a 2008 1.4 Mazda 3 myself

Honestly out of my 3 cars (one being a brand new Cupra hot hatch) my Saab 9-3 Convertible is my favourite so I can see why Jack has kept it around. Such a lovely thing for no money at all. My audience LOVED it too. Next time you do a cheap car challenge tell Jack to have it off me so he can have an estate AND a convertible for whichever suits his mood that day. Soon his driveway will be a Saab graveyard. Loving the challenge videos 👍

Right boys oil leaks check oil filter housing gasket sump gasket and rocker gasket. Other common issues lumpy idle ( vanos solenoids or disa valves)

Love seeing that saab still going, thats what they do best, still provide useful service after years when most other stuff is dead

People don't sell BMW's, they break up with them for being so high maintenance. But you can be sure they check the plate of every silver z4 that passes to see if it's their old flame! Word of warning on silicon spray on o-rings, if you're going to apply silicon do it when you're already ready to install it. I had my 20 year old MAF o-ring swell as it softened up, and I couldn't get it back in the hole lol

Recently inherited my grandads Saab 9000 and its so good, taking it for a tune Sunday should put me about 250bhp 😎

Looks like the N52 power plant. Great engine. I have that on my 330i E90 great engines. That oil filter housing is one of the concerns though as it sits directly over the sepertine.

It is unbelievable that you can get a Z4 coupe for that price in the UK. The only one on my local Craigslist is asking $40k USD for a 2008 manual, no mileage listed. The only one under $10k is a convertible, auto, 2.5L, 2003, with high mileage, engine light on, sitting for past 3 years.

With those silver wheels, it really completes the look of that beauty. Black wheels aren’t bad but not as good as the silver wheels.
