How 350 Tons Of Traditional French Butter Is Made Every Year | Big Batches | Insider Food
At Maison Bordier in Saint Malo, France, 350 tons of butter are churned, kneaded, and shaped by hand every year. On an average day, the butter workshop shapes around 20,000 mini butters and makes 300 to 400 customized butters for restaurants.
We visited its workshop to see how it makes these butters in such big batches.

I will miss Jean-Yves from the past video. He a passionate and fun-fun guy.
I was wondering how Mr Bordier was doing when I saw the start of this video - he was so much fun to watch in the last one. I hope he's enjoying his retirement!
I did not know these were weighed out by hand !!! the butter I have had it is amazing .
It's how I've definitely seen the BTS (literally behind the scenes) of this butter before, but will not hesitate to watch another one. Simply wonderful!!

Look Beautiful& delicious Great job 9likes
I love Big Batches!!!
This was beautiful to see.
I love they welcome the butter for some beating!
Lovely butter, either to eat on its own with bread, or as an ingredient for baked goods and sauces!
Just like at Costco whne the robot pizza machine spins the pizza while dropping the tomato sauce and spreads it, I can watch butter on that machine all day to relieve my anxiety.
You’re not a real butter lover until you try this 🇫🇷 butter Fantastique !

Wonder what they grease that bearing with.
The probably have the softest hands in the world
Dejavu.
Restaurants always seem to have good butter, wish I could get it at the store. Kerrygold is the best I've been able to find, but still isn't as good. The regular store brands are all completely bland, taste like vegetable oil more than butter.

i think it helps that most places keep it out in room temp throughout the day so it’s able to be spread more easily

We should all be butter snobs ... French butter is the BEST!
yall go every year
Have you guys ever considered doing a native language version of these wonderful clips? Frankly I can understand French very well so I mean it kind of nice to actually hear it in the actual language of the people that you are profiling. Ask anyone who knows another language sometimes it rather distracts having the translation over top of the audio when you can just listen to the actual audio itself in the native language. 😊
How to try this in Vietnam?🤤

If all else fails, find heavy cream and make your own! It’s not particularly difficult on a small scale if you have a blender or food processor and it’s absolutely worth it!
Hmm the CC captions (I watched w/o audio 🤷♀️) said the production supervisor was 20yo 👶?? Unless he is VERY accomplished for having been born in 2003 and life is VERY HARD for french youth, I think he's probably older than that 🙃
You covered this in 2020? Why go back...
why are they not wearing gloves whie stamping?

Have you ever heard of handwashing? Gloves often give a false sense of security. In many jurisdictions it's perfectly permissible to use one's bare hands so long as those hands are sanitized to the standard protocol for hand washing of that jurisdiction so long as one's hands are free of any cuts or other open wounds. It's perfectly safe.

There are SO MANY restrictions in Europe and especially in France where you have to comply with security protocols that includes hygiene when you are making edibles. That is #1 priority. You don't see it here but for every batch, a sample is taken for analysis.

French sounds like a headache to me
butter not batter!😂
Christ is the Truth, the bread of life, accept Him & everything that is good & holy comes after accepting Him - butter isn’t good without bread! When we invest in people with The Lord, we invest in our spiritual future. (Investing in the stock market or ‘crypto’ currencies will only lead the way for the antichrist to setup their fully traceable digital mark of the beast system).
This is the stuff which is fattening the western people
Wtf. You have to learn about cows and it's depression and married life whether it's happy or not or whether it's sex life is satisfying or not otherwise this will affect the milk quality and butter quality. Due this 💩 French philosophy this butter is famous.
