House of the dragon by far Lord of the rings looks like wheele of time

House of The Dragon, no cap

An important point that has to be considered is that visually, Game of Thrones has already done a lot of the work for House of the Dragon. Especially things like sets and VFX models for the dragons already exist and belong to HBO, so that probably saved them a huge chunk of the budget. Since Rings of Power has to start from scratch, it makes sense why at least the first season is so much more expensive

House of The Dragon>Rings of Power Rings of Power looks nice to a degree, but for the most part it looks like a fantasy land…House of the Dragon looks way more realistic and believable like GoT. House of the Dragon has a lot to live up to if it’s gonna surpasses GoT though.

I think House of the Dragon is gonna be better, Miguel Sapochnik direct 3 big episodes and he is the showrunner that's says a lot. But I'm excited to Rings of Power too.

Considering one actually has the rights to a story and isn't fanfiction, I'm gonna go with that. Nothing the rings showrunners have said about Tolkien encourages me. Not excited for either but at least house has a chance to be good.

I agree with pretty much all your points. To be honest, kinda lost hope on RoP when I found out they didn’t have the rights for the books that take place during the age this story takes place, might as well just tell another story or create their one fantasy, feels like they just want Tolkiens name for names sake. But who knows, maybe they won’t disappoint and prove me wrong Excited for your videos covering both shows

At least George R. R. Martin is alive to stand up for his work, Tolkien has been dead for 50 years. The Rings of Power looks like a political stunt fanfic more than a TV show.

I'm hoping Rings of Power fails miserably because the way Amazon and their shrils have treated criticism, Tolkien's source material, fans and the man himself is shameful.

well the show is tolkinien in every way from the dialogues to the looks. they even made dialogues sound the way tolkien wrote. jackson movies had none of that and still looked amazing and rings of power is going over above that making sure even the finest details match tolkien. stop believe racist people and go read about the show , the details are great , not to mention simon tolkien himself is an advisor.

@@unpopularopinion5022 ROP is writing 50 hours of story based on the appendices of the LOTR book that relates to the second age. I dont see how they can make that work. To me it seems like it will be an original story with the character and place names from Tolkien. They have a man coming out of a meteor, which seems to be a focal point of the story - that is in no way Tolkien. They are going to try and compress a couple of thousand years into several years. Time and mortality is a primary theme of Tolkien. I suspect that if they used an original title, and original character and place names they may not even need any licencing. Tolkien sourced his story from mythology that anyone can use. For example, there is no licencing required to have elves in the forest, dwarves mining under mountains. little people, wizards, orc and goblins, trolls, giants, walking-talking trees, fire demons, dragons hoarding gold, magic rings that make people invisible or corrupt people, or an island gifted by the gods then sunk by them due to corruption and hubris of the inhabitants.

@@richardjohnston-bell476 so ROP is based second age , which was never written much about , like u only get details about major plots and characters are severly underdeveloped , so anyone who does a show like this would have to write 90 percent of the story. the theme being tolkien so its basically completing tolkien;s story that makes sense with all the plots and themes of his writing. chritopher tolkien when selling the rights put 3 conditions in front of them 1)no resurrection of characters once dead 2)to not given lines of one character to another like jackson did it in his movies(which christopher hated) 3) to not kill any characters that does not die in second age the man in meteor is a total mystery , at this point he seems like a maiar sent by the valar for some purpose.

@@unpopularopinion5022 ROP is a disgrace. The way that they are dealing with criticism is a big red flag. Will maybe give it a try just to watch how it falls apart. Of course some pirated version not giving any money to mr. Bezos. Hot D will smash it.

Oh man, Howard Shore is only doing the main theme? I did not know that. Advantage definitely goes to HotD here. Ramin Djawadi is the goat. I have a lot of faith in the HotD show because GRRM is heavily involved. For Rings of Power, idk... I just hope the story can live up to the visuals.

I wouldn’t even say they’re that comparable. Maybe Game Of Thrones has a similar vibe to LOTR but House Of The Dragon is it’s own category. It’s more domestic and low fantasy instead of LOTR being high fantasy. We know the world of ASOIAF works well as a tv series, you’re kind of waking in blind to how LOTR is going to be portrayed. HOTD has got more politics, family drama and plot which is needed for a television series. While LOTR and the hobbit rely on spectacle and action which alines it closer to what you’d expect in movies. I hope they don’t go all in on action and forget about characterisation. Which reminds me of the backlash in the later seasons of GOT as they relied too heavily on shock value and spectacle over quality writing and character intrigue. In all honesty I’m definitely going to watch House Of The Dragon, While I might watch KZread reviews of LOTR only if KZread recommends them. Plus I’m terms of popularity HOTD will release two weeks before LOTR and due to Amazon releasing the first couple of episodes on the same day HOTD will continue two weeks after LOTR which literally boxes in the premiere and ending for LOTR 💀This makes it extremely difficult for fans of LOTR to talk about it as they might be drowned out by the talk of HOTD. Not to mention there is certainly an age difference. House Of The Dragon will have Game Of Thrones fans, the majority of which have grown up watching this fantasy world. LOTR was made popular by older generations who read the books and watched the films. The majority of criticism I’ve seen actually comes from the fandom itself. I get a vibe the core fandom is older and isn’t too happy about this new series messing up what they loved. Either way I do wish both succeed and it makes healthy competition. I truly believe house of the dragon will try their very best as if this doesn’t work then HBO will lose their main cash cow which is the world of Westeros.

Well thought out! The boxing in is tough but shows like the boys, invincible, squid game have succeeded off of singular drops before

HBO knows the formula for what they were doing in GOT even if the story sucks, I think they'll do fine at worst on the other side every where I see I find ROP sucks costumes, cast, diversity, story alarm signs everywhere.

I will give you a example Hollywood is making black batman black superman making all beloved characthers that were white either black or female while spitting in white men. Then yoz ask hmm where is the static shock movie or the spawn movie or the jhon stewert green lantern movie or the storm movie owww wait no where. I would recommend you check out geeks and gamers on this subject. No problem having black characthers ( my favourites are spawn and blade) but what is the problem is taking beloved white chRacthers and turning them black and calling the fanbase racist bigots misgyonists

@@JohnDoe-xf9ly Like i said, i have an open mind, i will decide after watching it if they caught the atmosphere of tolkiens world. But it will be based on other things personally. I havent read the silmarillion and unfinished tales for some time, but the fate of the noldor, the tale of turin turambar, the charge of fingolfin and the fate of gondolin still stick in my mind even to this day.

Well seeing as the the first reviews for the premire ep 1 showing event are out on the biggist asoiaf community channals saying it Is more like asoiaf than GOT and it will probably overtake it and saying they were extremely happy with it my bet is with HOTD

So after Ep.1 of HOTD, ya its amazing, and you can feel that George has his guiding hand, the showrunners love the material, and they both want to deliver on Fire & Blood. That being said, I feel like Rings of Power has alot of love put into it so far imo, but it feels different. We'll find out in a week 🤞

How did I stumble onto this Movies with Muscles or is it Muscles with Movie reviews. No matter the catchy tittle it’s put together very well.

I'm not sure if you knew but house of the dragon is from the adaptations of the book fire and blood,which is such and amazing book,it's actually my favorite and I only read like 10 pages,it's good to see it come to television,rings of power is gonna be good for me too

Rings of Power is going to be burned to the ground by the fans, i said it a year ago that if Amazon is going to disrespect Tolkien's legacy or won't come close to the standards of movie trilogy, LOTR fans will not forgive it, you can already say that by looking at their reaction for Rings of Power trailer, and review and rating bombing is going to be huge. On the opposite we can see HOTD doing well with its premiere so it's quite an easy win

I'm a Marvel fan.. of course i like big power. i don't like telenovelas..between those two series i will watch a series that has a lot of big power popping up.

Well the Rings of Power budget is not correct in this 465 millions you have 250 million for the entire Copyright for all seasons that amazon prime paid.

I think Amazon is counting on a lot of the money they're pumping into LOTR as an investment, building sound stages, sets, basically a whole movie studio from ground up. I don't want to see the misery porn that is the Dance of Dragons. Full stop, won't watch.

House of dragon will beat the original game of thrones storyline so rings of power, no one will even mention it

House of the he Dragon 🐉 imagine we see a dinosaur in one of the shows.

Colony was a textbook example of taking too long to deliver. 3 seasons waiting to see the aliens and bigger picture of the story. Season 3 finale was so unsatisfying I thought it was a mid-season break only to find out that was it and it was cancelled.

You got my subscription because you’re yummy as hell 😮‍💨 also great video! I’m disappointed in both from what I’ve seen so far. As a huge lord of the rings fan as a child that stayed true through to adulthood. So many stories I hold dear to my heart are being butchered to become woke political garbage. Game of thrones died after season 7 for me. The final season was unbelievably painful to watch so house of the dragon is a miss for me.

I know there’s a lot of negativity around rings of power atm but I’m trying really hard not to judge it too harshly until I see the final product and actually watch the show .. I still have hopes that it’ll be good

House of the dragon will be better because it seems to stay true to the source. Rings of power violates (abuses, rapes and murders) Tolkien's work, I'm not going to watch that crap

Rings of Power may look more interesting, but that doesn’t mean it looks interesting to begin with. They are using their own timeline since they have no rights to most of the source material, and we still have no idea what the show is about after 4 trailers. Hard pass.
