Houdini Algorithmic Live

Ғылым және технология

This is a weekly tutorial live for Houdini. In this week I'm going to show how to create curvy fractal tree and run a hexagonal trail on top of the branch geometry.
I've also started a Patreon, if anyone found the video interested or helpful please consider supporting so that I can continue creating videos.

That was awesome! It's super interesting to follow your thought process while working through this. Thank-you!

Thanks, very cool. 25:14 - you can hover over the polyframe1 node, click the info icon and click on tangentu attribute, it will automatically set visualization.

This is amazing, I wanted to request you if you can make a video on chain mail technique in Houdini?

Can somebody explain to me a bit of the vector math at 1:12:45? After calculating "l", he multiplies it by "V". What does this do? Can't you just subtract "l" from "v1"? Does the multiplication normalize the "v2"?

HI. I guess he wants a projected length. Projection of vector v_1 on to V. Dot product gives you multiplication of two vectors as if both were about to exist on the "same line". Dot product "brings" v_1 on to V by projecting v_1 on to V. But the result of dot product is a mutuplication of both projections. In order to extract the projected length of v_1 from the result of dot product I would divide V on dot(V, v_1). Here Junichiro is doing multiplication instead... don't know why... I guess I'm missing somehing. Have to look closer.

@@arsensuleymanov7935 Yeah, I'm really not sure what's going on there. It seems to work though, so who am I to argue with the master?
