What did that guy throw on there at 2:13 that looked like a pizza? Is it some kind of mold release agent that mostly burns away to leave a greasy soot? I would think you wouldn't want the extra carbon but maybe that's the purpose?

The press channel got nothing on that beast

it is quite easy to simulate the forge deformation with a software, so that can't not work

I want that job to just point and click the trigger of a temp gun all day.

Looks like the top or bottom of a pressure vessel.

turn the cap 90 degrees and put it on the 2 sides

We use those, for the end caps, for tube and shell, Heat exchangers.

They have about a dozen presses. That looks like one of the smaller ones, maybe 300T at a guess.

Why did the guy throw a piece of wood in at 2:13? It immediately burst into flames. The charred remains can be seen when the bowl is removed at the end.

I had the same question. Maybe it's for releasing the press head after forming.

That's exactly what it's for. The wood turns to carbon and prevents the inner die from sticking to the part or otherwise being marred by the workpiece. Same with the oil they use- turns to carbon and becomes a non stick coating.

Sideslip - it also inhibits scale formation. The burning wood consumes all the oxygen near the metal. Did you notice the scale removal just before the guy threw in the chunk of wood?

Why not using the metal spinning？it's too complicated for the using press

Soon after a new Panda Express opens.

This compared to press forming is very energy inefficient, you run a heat oven plus a press. Rather than just a hydro press. And it seems you can only run one size diameter at a time based on the press.

@@JoeKyser That's is not a wok but the dish end of a cylindrical vessel normally seen in Pressure vessels or Petroleum tankers. It is later welded on both ends of the hollow cylinder to form the vessel.

I think cherry red steel is equivalent to 800 degrees Celsius. Jag tror att körsbärsrött stål motsvarar 800 grader Celsius.

The end of a pressure vessel (to store pressurised gases) . They would make another one then weld to each end of a steel cylinder. Much stronger than having flat ends welded onto a cylinder
