How empty hearted... someone spent $10k on a horse, causes it major injury, and instead of even TRYING to help it, they throw it away! Don't even attempt to take it to a vet, or a rescue... how revolting. And that poor horse... and the rest.... thank you HP team for doing what you do! Keep up the amazing work Hero's!

Where they have come from and what they have gone through, to now be treated kindly and given care, either eased out of their pain and suffering or put into a nice clean stall or let loose into a green pasture must be like heaven on earth for them. So glad you all are doing this work.

When I worked at the University of Illinois Veterinarian University we had a Standardbred mare that came in to be delivered. She had no tendons left and she literally was dragging her belly on the ground. When she went into labor we braced our backs against her belly and braced our feet against the wall. After 3 hours of labor and 2 changes of people she finally delivered a live foal.

It works great on wounds that are long lasting (pressure woulds, ulcers, etc), antibiotic resistance wounds and used as a barrier with central lines and ports. It's awesome. I love that now you can give the otherwise young and healthy a chance. But also that your vets can do the necropsys and grow their own skills. Your vets make the hard choice so often and are very realistic, it's nice to see them be able to do more for the bad cases.

For when a new horse arrives with a short cut bob, they all know that this horse did a very good job.’ I hope there is nothing wrong with her and that somebody just took away her tail … otherwise she has been through so much even though she must have been loved dearly before going into this nightmare

Wow! Intake days/weeks are so busy for all of you! The HPHS buy-out program is so incredibly successful! I have to wonder what the auction house is thinking now about the decisions they have made in the past! Hugs to you all! It must be very emotionally draining to see so many in such rough shape when they come off the trailers. Shame on their former owners who's job it was to care for them. They obviously have no heart or soul and will answer to their Creator one day. Thankfully, you are able to take comfort in knowing that even for those that need the LAOK, you are still saving them. You humanely put an end to their suffering. And by showering them with love, respect and care, you allow them to feel valued in their last days. God bless you everyone!

Fascinaring findings with those mares. All I can think of is Coralle with Fresian Horses KZread, how she is a broodmare for a Fresian. She is a registered studbook Hanoverian, but did great with a Fresian bebe embryo transfer. And at least those mares weren't bred, and they are out of pain now and at rest after suffering at their end. I'm glad they landed with you, and gave knowledge in return for their gentle end.

THank you for all you do. Sapphire at least has a chance now. Considering what her legs looked like when she arrived, it looks like she's really doing well trying to heal. Healing energy being sent to her. I really hope there is some research going into that donkey respiratory disease. I know it's been an issue for years now. It's really scary how fast it is. Hopefully the cause and some treatment options become known.

Thank you all for all you do, I was really happy to see a lot more healthy horses, donkeys, and ponys, which was really nice to see this time around. Although, I still get angry when I see those horses that should have gotten the last act of kindness from their person.

I wonder if the mares with prepubic tendon ruptures came from a Premarin factory. I hope their foals were saved!

I saw in a video where a young horse got caught up in fencing and tore its leg up horribly. They got it cleaned real well, then used honey under the wrap. Considering what it was to begin with after the accident, it healed really well.

Im so impressed by the number of horses brought to you guys through the buy out program! The auction may have cut you off but i honestly think the new way of rescuing is making more of an impact than the auctions anyway !

I've seen another horse that carried another mare's foal recently, but she has been treated like a queen by the owner of the mother of the filly. The two mares that you had to give the last act to were treated so horribly! I can't understand how people can use animals like this and then just throw them away as if they were garbage. Thank you for all you do, happy 4th, and I have high hopes for the mare who fell through the trailer floor. I had a horse who had the same issue, but it was on his front leg. He had to wear a cast to keep him from chewing at the stitches, and loved it when I would take a twig and scritch the stitches for him!

Love that you can save so many! Genuine question: doesn't the buy out still reward kill buyers/feed lots you've mentioned before. "One guy usually brings 20" means he'd get $9000/month from HPHS.

As a monthly donor, for 50 cents a day, not do I already know everything about this video a week early, but I know much more information about the horses. Monthly donors get multiple updates each week that show behind the scenes exclusive videos that are much more in-depth. If you're not a monthly donor, and love Horse Plus, you're totally missing out. I think that the lowest level is only $15.00 a month, like the cost of skipping Starbucks twice a month, and you're actually helping to save horses lives. Consider joining, it's well worth the money.
