@@hangemhigh3578 From wikipedia: "Saddle seat riding began as a distinct style within the broader group of English riding disciplines developed in the United States. The first source was the Plantation tradition of the American South, where smooth-moving, high-stepping horses were used by plantation owners and overseers to travel across the fields. The horses had to be smooth riding and comfortable enough for hours of riding while overseeing the plantation, but the owners also preferred an impressive, high-stepping horse for riding in town. A second influence was European: a flatter English show saddle was developed from the tradition of riders who would often show off their flashiest, highest-stepping horses by riding them in city parks on Sundays. Hence, the term "park horse" is still used today to describe competitions in which the action of the horse is of paramount importance. In the northern United States, showing high-stepping horses in a flat park-style saddle at fairs was one way breeders would promote their horses." And: "Equitation: Saddle seat is a style of English riding that differs considerably from other styles such as hunt seat and dressage. To the casual observer the rider sits well back in the saddle, carrying his or her hands higher than in other disciplines. Riders in equitation classes are penalized for leaning forward to any significant degree. However, like any other riding discipline, the position of the rider reflects the desired position of the horse. The rider must make the riding look effortless, and stay still and well-formed on the horse, sitting upright, with shoulders back and posting that is graceful and quiet. In saddle seat, high-stepping gaits are required of the horses shown, and the rider's position, behind the center of balance of the animal, allows the riding aids to be used to encourage front leg action in the horse."

The gait is natural, the weights and soring is not. When allowed to do their natural gait. A Tennessee Walking Horse is comfortable and like sitting in a well loved rocking chair. I had the absolute pleasure of riding one at my first job, working at a training stable. I got to see some beautiful horses. Got to learn how to train and gentle some of the most scared and abused horses into best friends and good companions. We did a lot of good work, but sadly like many good works, it lost money and support. I broke my hand and by the time I could get back to it, the stable had had to shut down and got sold.

Look,at the KZread video “walking on broken glass” . It shows the 1999 annual celebration. Only guy forced the TWH association to allow him to enter the grand championship show wieh his horse flat shod, meaning no soring, no stacks and no chains. The natural gait of the Tennessee Walking horse is so beautiful! And when you compare to the grotesque gyrations of the horses doing the big lick , the difference is shocking and just disgusting. The gross abnormality of the big lick gait is appalling. And we all know the damage that’s being done to these poor horses bodies and minds. . If you watch this video, pay attention to the horses with stacks at the canter …..compared to the horse that’s flat shod . I’m not going to describe the flat shod horse, it will be obvious once you see all the horses in the ring. Also pay attention to the close ups of the big lick horses in this video. Any horse person can plainly see the horses are scared and in pain. There should be a photo cut from the video , of just these horses faces and that photo enlarged and made onto an anti big lick poster . To show the pain and suffering these horses experience, just in the show ring for a short time…… to make people think about what the horses experience the rest of the time. Also, read about the owner and breeder of that flat shod horse .

An idea for the group of visiting shelter folk.... Assemble a bunch of profiles of past equines. Horses, donkeys, hinneys and mules. Use real profiles! Mariale was an owner surrender Pokey was purchased at auction Stevie was a seizure by law enforcement Include their ages, their condition, problems, positives, temperament and training....but do it in stages, the way you find out in evaluation. Finish up with what happened to each critter....like last act of kindness, transferred, adopted or even just still waiting Got 30 people coming? Have 60 some-odd capsules prepared and each attendee draws just one

I truly pray that righteousness will prevail and this madness stopped…how disgusting, I hope these Freaks know that a world wide audience is watching what happens to these beautiful Horses in the Land of the so called Leaders of the Free World…Greetings from Germany

Was going to say this earlier, but I feel like I won’t sleep right if I don’t…so hope you will read this comment. You need to get security for yourself. Plz listen. You’re such a sweet person and I just don’t want you to underestimate what those people are capable of. And not just a bit of whip during day time. Not living in fear is one thing but being proactive and just aware of your surroundings is another. You’ve been a proverbial thorn in their butts for a while but they were still making their money, now when their wallets are affected, they can get vicious. Please protect yourself🙏❤️❤️❤️

Just some advice for painting. It’s much easier and faster if you use a small paintroller on things like the railing.

And 1) follow right behind with a paint brush, 2) use only quality rollers that hold more paint-1/2" or 3/4" - learned that from a paint store, and 3) volunteers can clean the quality rollers to be reused...

I watched the video Jason and Justin did on the Big Lick protest, and l chickened out and had to fast forward when they brought the horses 🐎 out as l found it so upsetting.. they were really gasping for breath.. Their eyes were so enlarged, and they sat SO far back that it made the horses walk slanted even more because they had the stacks on the front.. One horse rider was way too big for the horse.. he was a tall guy, and he looked like John Goodman BEFORE he lost his weight..that horse was in such difficulty l couldn't watch anymore..l 🙏 pray to God that the Government and senators don't block this ban..because so many of these abusers that do this are rich and influential..🇬🇧💕🙏✝️👏👍🐎🐎🐎💔😢🐎🐎🇺🇸
