I just love Elijah. He’s so calm, professional and empathic. He doesn’t take risks with horses that have difficulty with farrier work. I like the fact sedation is used with those cases so no harm or unnecessary stress is put on the horse or Elijah. Horse plus are leading the way with how farrier work should be done. Well done Elijah and well done Vet and training team on the good example you are setting in the rescue world and hoof care.
Elijah is a treasure. Knows his business and explains everything professionally. No drama, just facts. Love it.
I must take a moment to thank the entire "video/media/cinematography" team (not sure of the correct term!). You do an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING JOB...from filming to editing to final video! Each episode gets (impossibly) better and we feel as if we are right there IRL!! The "interviews" with staff also get better and better. Just overall everyone doing a great job! This goes for Elijah too...he is so wonderful with the horses, clearly does fantastic work, and explains things (to us) so well. I'm sure donors like Bob Barker and the wonderful woman funding the new intake barn are so proud to support such a WONDERFUL organization as HPHS. THANK YOU EVERYONE for all you do! 🐎💛 Janice
I especially enjoyed Elijah’s evaluation and rehabilitation plan for the horses with hoof problems! What an awesome farrier. If anyone can save those feet it’s him.
I love it when they get turned out and they run its just beautiful to see their heads held and tails lifted high! Thank you for giving them that chance❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
With all those children, Boe is going to loved, loved, loved.
I could watch Dr. Lydia speaking about her equine charges all day. She is truly amazing.
I am so thrilled that Horse Plus will be starting to do educational work in addition to caring for the animals. This is a terrific way to raise their profile, and get their message out to a wider audience. Educating people about horses is the first step towards better care and treatment for them. Also, having worked in the non-profit world for many years, I can tell you that having an education program and offering regular classes is a great way to generate predictable income, which means being less dependent on donations.

During the 1980's and '90's I was president of our provincial horse and pony rescue society. I took in horses and ponies that were either seized or surrendered by owners. I also conducted educational sessions for owners who were not caring for their animals properly. In my experience, the education had no effect. The owners continued to neglect their horses, not get their hooves trimmed, and let the horses get so skinny. I bought one Standardbred for $100 - a horse that had not even been given water for more than a week. Took that horse to my own 3-stall stable. That owner continued to starve horses. Now, the provincial SPCA refuses to have anything to do with investigating equine abuse. They leave it up to the police - who give this issue no priority and have no knowledge of horses. Writing from Newfoundland Labrador Canada.
Thank you Dr Lydia for telling people to scrape off the water after hosing off a horse

Look at those happy horses and donkeys romping in the pastures. What a sight to see knowing most of them were only days away from a horrific ending. Now they will live happy for however long they have left. Love it! I am challenging ALL fans who watch Horse Plus all the time. I don't know how many actual loyal followers there are, but I know if every single one of us who DO watch every episode would sign up for a set automatic donation monthly, that would be really helpful to Tawnee as it would at least give her an idea of what the base donation amount will be each month. Surely we all can afford 5 or 10 dollars a month, give up that expensive coffee or some other silly thing and sign up for auto donation each month. Then we can also donate more as we can afford to above that pledge of a base amount. I cannot imagine the stress it puts on Tawnee making the decision to accept more calls from traders who want to bring trailers to take advantage of the buy out program. I believe they are paying $500 per horse sight unseen. that adds up quickly. I am hoping that all the fans who read this will join me in setting up auto donation for every month. We can do it, I know we can.
Erin TN has a small but very well known Irish Day Parade, they get a lot of visitors during that time- if you ever wanted to snag a spot in the parade or set up a booth about Horse Plus and what you do it'd be amazing to see! Just figured let ya know!
Thank you to all of the adopters that give these horses a loving home!
The way your organization continues to expand and grow is so inspirational. Having the ability to provide on-site education will really help so many people - what a wonderful addition to your already fantastic organization. I watch every episode and always learn something new and I really appreciate hearing from your entire roster of people on what they do and what they're doing today. Thanks again for being so good to animals.
I must say I also like this farrier,❤🎉he is about the job in hand, and looks happy in doing so. He is there for the horses. 😊
The horses are looking so much better. Thank you horse plus for all that you do.
Dr. Lydia is such a treasure. A jewel. A gem. .Horse Plus is blessed to have her. Give her a raise.

I enjoyed this episode so much. I always love to see the horses moving thru from quarantine and hear how they are doing. And if course hearing from the vets and see what they are up to.Thank you for all the wonderful work you do for these amazing animals!!!!❤
It’s nice to have some good news about the horses after seeing so many that couldn’t be saved from the buyout program. It’s also nice to see Outlaw Equine doing so well adopting donkeys.
Made a one-time donation today. At 71 I cannot afford to donate monthly. But I really admire all of you for your important work. I pray to St. Francis of Assisi and your animals every day. Really enjoy watching Cory working with horses. He is terrific.
Oh, we just didn’t want this episode to end! Great explanations from Elijah, wonderful adoptions and smiles from all the staff make for excellent content. It is especially heartwarming to see the horses and donkeys run into pasture & get updates on many of them. We even got to see a few pups and the rare kitty! Thank you from Surf City CA🌊
This is my favorite farrier ❤! He’s not a show off like the other channel. He’s the real deal as we all can see ❤🎉.

I know who you mean Schiffon. I don’t understand why sedation isn’t used more often at the other rescue. It saves unnecessary stress and injury to both the horses and the farrier. Especially in stock situations with the big draft horses, I actually dread farrier time at the other place because you just know there is going to be some sort of drama. It’s completely unnecessary, especially as they have a vet there at the same time who could administer sedation carefully to those horses who need it. I don’t like calling out rescues because they do such incredible work but I wish they would look at their farrier situation as potentially damaging.

Elijah is a wonderful, compassionate and skilled Farrier. In fact the entire team at HPHS is phenomenal. Once I seen the wood delivery I immediately recognized Hampton. They’re located here in the PNW a few miles from where I’m at. My husband worked with them before going on and obtaining his CDL.

Fantastic video! So well put together and packed full of helpful interesting info. I am so thankful and appreciative for all the Horse Plus Angels. 👼
What’s your refeeding program? I’ve found information online that says you follow the UC Davis refeeding diet but haven’t seen any alfalfa hay or any skinny horses gaining any significant amount of weight. Also one month will never be enough time for a horse to recover from a low body score. Atlas deserves more time. He doesn’t deserve to have his chance at a good life cut short because you keep getting more animals
Thank you for this episode. Love to Se Elijah work. Wish you could do a whole video whit him doing farrierwork. And so glad to see Outlaw Equine Rescue and Rehab to. Follow them to... Good job of you all. Vets, farrier and all the staff.
Elijah certainly knows his stuff!
Good on Elijah, sometimes you definitely have to think outside the box. My farrier and I both had to work on things way out of the norm for my horse...and they worked! 🍀💖 (Robin)
❤❤another great episode showcasing all the good works done at HP.❤❤Blessings to all.
With Atlas...time takes time to gain weight; nutrients/aminos/fat/oil. Anemia plus several other things can cause low white count.
I'm glad you're considering glue-on shoes for the horse who didn't have enough hoof wall for nails.
Check out Soft Ride shoes! They are new and nail or glue on! Great for problem feet. I have soft ride hoots for my Paso with Cushings and she was foundered when we saved her! She was skin and bones and elf front feet but , she is barefoot now and rides great! Love you guys❤
Thank you for these follow - ups!! So exciting to see the horses improving!!

Nicely done and back to basics.
Great episode. I do hope and pray 🙏 that beautiful Apollo 🐎 will be ok..that you can find why the antibiotics aren't clearing up his infection..it will be such a shame as he us a sweet guy and deserves a goid retirement.. its wonderful to see the horses come out of quarrentine and go running and rolling on the pastures..and how great is it to see Cleopatra's and Paolo's leg wounds so much better that they get out into the pasture instead of a hospital stall..boy Paolo was kicking his heels up for sure. .the older mote sedate Cleo was munching down on the grass 😂..priorities differ.😂..5 donkeys getting homed by Outlaw rescue too..yay for the donks 🫏🫏🫏🫏🫏.. poor lil pony with entropia..thats ingrowing eyelashes..that bloody hurts..something should have been done ages ago not let this poor pony 🐴 suffer in pain..Grrrr l get so angry !!.. if you cannot afford vet treatment firstly don't get a pet..secondly surrender them so they can get treatment !! Horses on grass produce enough biotin within their own gut to build hoof horn. Zinc and copper are far more important for hoof horn health.

Do you use any natural products. Putting Atlas on colloidal silver (natural antibiotic) ? He can be on it for a long while. My dog had a UTI, and she took it for a year. She is UTI free to this day. Debbie Jay

I’m concerned that you are giving up on Atlas too soon. He has only had 4 courses of antibiotics and that is not a lot. He can take more. Also he is eating well and has gained weight even if it is only a little. He is old. It’s hard to gain weight when you have an infection when you’re old but he is gaining weight!! Give him more time!!! Please!! 🙏🙌🏻❤️❤️❤️
I wish i had the means to adopt Cleopatra. I think she is gorgeous.
Cow hooves take on plastic hooves to help them. I watch the Hoof GP on KZread . The hooves are temporary and are glued on for months?

I don't know anything about a farrier's work, but I have heard that composite shoes provide cushioning for sensitive horse hooves. I wondered if composite shoes would help Huey. Maybe that's the same thing as glue-on shoes. ??
